The house
The cottage is part of a farm barn converted in 2018 with its own screened garden on the larger property (5000m2) of 'La Sapience'. It can accommodate 2 people and offers a tasteful combination of old elements and modern comforts. The cottage has a sitting and dining area with a fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher and via the stairs to the mezzanine you reach the stylishly furnished sleeping area. The spacious bathroom on the ground floor has a modern walk-in shower, two sinks and a toilet.
The house is located on the outskirts of Le Sap, a quiet medieval village in Normandy. So close to the village, you can go for a lovely walk in the morning and get your fresh baguettes and croissants from the bakery on the square along the way. There is a market on Saturday mornings, selling a variety of fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and dairy products. From the house you can make beautiful walks and cycling trips, (detailed) maps, brochures and hiking books are available.
Within walking distance of the gite are 2 charging stations on the village square.
Normandy is known for its lush farmland (granary of France), apple orchards, ancient forests and half-timbered houses. It offers a beautiful and varied landscape, called le bocage, and a mild climate. You will also find nearby some of the country's most famous cheeses (Camembert, Livarot and Pont l'Evêque), atmospheric villages, (flea) markets, beautiful gardens and castles in the area and vast apple orchards for the production of fresh cider and calvados.
A day in Paris is easily done by train from Bernay. The coast, with pretty towns like Honfleur and Houlgate, is an hour's drive away.

Wat een heerlijke plek! En we hadden gelukkig prachtig weer, het leek wel voorjaar. Een mooie wandeling gemaakt maar ook geluierd en gelezen op een van de comfortabele banken. ‘s Morgens een kort wandelingetje naar een van de twee bakkers voor verse croissantjes of ander brood. De plaatselijke supermarkt heeft voldoende keuze aan lekkernijen. Le Sap is een echt Frans dorp zoals je je zo’n authentiek dorp voorstelt. Maar: Er staan wel twee oplaadpunten voor je elektrische auto op het marktpleintje bij het gemeentehuis! Dat was erg handig.
Het huis is comfortabel, schoon en gezellig ingericht. Het bed slaapt heerlijk, de moderne badkamer en keuken maken het af.
Charlotte is een goede gastvrouw. Alles ligt klaar. Eitjes van eigen kippen op tafel, zelf gemaakte jam, thee en koffie in de keukenkast.

Prachtige lokatie. Sfeervolle gites. Gastvrije gastvrouw. Alles is tot in de puntjes goed verzorgd.

Wat een pareltje deze plek! De gite is fris en heel gezellig ingericht. Aan alles is gedacht. Zowel in de keuken als in de mooie moderne badkamer.
Het bed met goede matrassen! op de vide is een ook een heerlijke plek.
Niet onbelangrijk was de goede WiFi zodat ik ook mijn werk kon doen.
In de idyllische tuin met privacy , ( zon) en gezellige zitjes scharrelen de kippen gezellig. In de omgeving heb ik lekker kunnen wandelen en dorpjes bezocht. Graag bedank ik de gastvrouw Charlotte voor de fijne week ,verse eieren, jam en fruit uit eigen tuin. Ik kom zeker terug!
