The house
Vierge family holiday cottage at Les Vallaies sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms. It is one of five houses sharing the pool and garden. On the ground floor there is an open plan living dining area and a medium sized kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, 4 ring gas hob, work top electric oven/grill, microwave, fridge freezer, electric kettle and all basic crockery and cutlery for a comfortable child friendly self catering holiday. An open tread, wooden staircase takes you to the first floor with double bedroom and two twin bedrooms, all of which have wardrobe and draws. There is a modern bathroom with bath, shower facility, toilet and basin, with loads of hot water and good pressure.
The holiday gite has an enclosed terrace area to the front with outdoor dining table and chairs, parasol and charcoal barbecue . It looks out onto the enclosed play garden, so is great for families with younger children. . The thick stone walls create a cellar like effect and in the heat of the summer, the cottage is a welcome escape from the midday sun. Cot, high chair, booster seat, change mat, toys and books, stair barriers, potty and toilet seat , plastic crockery and cutlery, toddler step an hand blender are standard items in all the cottages.

Les Vallaies family friendly holiday gites in the Charente Maritime region of Sw France are very centrally located for all the main towns, places of interest and of course the beaches. La Rochelle, Royan and Rochefort on the coast and Poitiers, Angouleme and Niort inland are all just an easy one hours drive away at most. Saintes and Cognac are closer still and have plenty to keep both adults, children and toddlers occupied and entertained. Even Bordeaux with its world famous vineyards and wineries are just a 1hr30 drive away. The Coast with hundreds of miles of coastline is just an easy 1hrs drive but we also have a fabulous inland beach and swimming lake just 30 mins away. Here at Les Vallaies family friendly holiday cottages we offer a range of family activities to help keep your children and toddlers entertained. The activities are mostly held at our close by 'sister' site - La Grange du Moulin family holiday cottages, (marked*) just 2km away and also owned and run by ourselves . There is no pressure to join in at all but it's only a pleasant stroll away or a quick 2 mins in the car. At Les Vallaies, you have the choice !

Please contact us before booking with the ages of your children as we can often make reductions depending on your dates, length of stay and age of children (for example a family with just a toddler and baby) This property specialises in families with young children particularly in july and august (covid exceptions depending on demand). Adult only groups will usually be refused. If you are unsure if our property will be suitable, please enquire before making a reservation request. Neither do we accept pets.

We had a lovely 2wk holiday at Les Vallaies. We were able to completely relax and enjoy ourselves. The pool area has been fantastic for our four boys, there hasn't been a day when we havn't been in it. The games room has also been a big hit amongst us all and the table tennis skills have definitely improved. We've very much enjoyed the activities. The boys loved the picnic and pottery painting and we thoroughly enjoyed the vineyard tour and taste du terroir. We were definitely tipsy by the end and the walk home through corn fields proved to be funny and exciting. We've had a few fun outings including boating at St Savinien, canoeing in Cognac, multiple local markets, visiting the winery in Siecq and Futuroscope, all of which were good fun. Thank you for encouraging us to have the pizza night and supplying the wine and the wood. All the families here had a really fun time and made some delicious pizzas. The kids enjoyed playing in the playground and eating all the pizza whilst all us grownups had a good old chin wag, ate pizza and drunk wine. Lucky us ! All in all an excellent holiday well helped by Wendy and Chris. Thank you. Oh and thank you for the running route ! How lucky to be able to jog amongst corn and sunflower fields in the morning. Oh and thank you for always being so quick in replying to queries. From the initial enquiries at booking the holiday to all through the holiday, we've been very grateful. Plus replacing the table tennis balls which were much better and fixing the shower head. All things sorted incredibly quickly.

A wonderful relaxing stay at Les Vallaies. Our daughter couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the garden with all the toys to play with. It was lovely for her to have so much freedom in the safety of the grounds. She also loved the sheep next door ! We had a nice time at the Teddy bear picnic, pottery painting and the taste du terroir was a really brilliant evening for the adults while the children played.
