The house
This charming XIX Century Logis has initially been built as a gentleman's residence and vineyard, then later became a working farm before being sympathetically restored. Approached through the grand entrance gates at the end of a private 100 years old chestnut lined driveway, providing ample shaded parking, the main farmhouse and L'Ecurie overlook the pretty circular courtyard with its centre the fountains. Renovated in 2017 the L'Ecuire offer on the ground floor an open plan with a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, oven and gas hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave. Comfortably furnished sitting room with satellite TV which gets French and English language channels. Upstairs, you will find two bedrooms await you one a double bedroom and the second with twin beds with a full shower room. L'Ecurie has a private garden to the rear with BBQ. The front benefit of sunny terraces overlooking the circular courtyard.

"L'Ecurie" is a beautifully restored 18th Century traditional Charentaise Logis is set in 2 acres of landscaped gardens with racquet sports, standard games room and TWO swimming pool complex. Logis de Lussais was built in the mid-18th Century as a gentleman’s residence with a Manor house and private vineyard and later became a working farm. It has since been restored to provide holiday accommodation. The Logis is approached along a private tree-lined avenue, offering ample shaded parking, through grand entrance gates into a fountain courtyard. The farmhouse and four-holiday cottages are around the central courtyard, and each has its private gardens overlooking the fountain. The four cottages share a secured 10 x 5m swimming pool and a second swimming pool 8 x 4m. Both swimming pools are south facing gardens where there is boule, badminton, short tennis and swings. In the Grange, an open barn, there is a common games room including table tennis, pool table and bar football. All racquet and games equipment is provided. The pool complex has a pool house with shower, washbasin and WC and a shaded area where you can enjoy while escaping from the heat of the day.

Dit is een geweldig verblijf! Een ruim en comfortabel huis met alles wat je nodig kunt hebben. Heerlijke zwembaden, schoon, een mooi terrein met prachtige schaduwrijke plekken, ruim opgezet en mooi onderhouden.

We have had a lovely stay at gite L’Écurie on the site of Logis de Lussais. The gite was fully equipped, clean and nice and cool during the hot days. Logische Lussais was like walking into an oasis, full of trees, plants and flowers. Also the fountain area was very nicely done with ambient lights. There are many areas for sports and other activities on site and we enjoyed them all! We highly recommend this gite and thank Eric and Julieanne for a wonderful stay!

The impressive Chateau Javarzay in Chef Boutonne has a fishing lake and picnic area which is within walking distance. There is a Saturday Market, various shops, restaurants and bars, two supermarkets and all the general amenities you might need all 1.5 km from your front door. An abundance of wildlife for the keen enthusiast is on your doorstep or going further afield, all within
one hours’ drive are a host of things to do and see. Nearby activities include; Cognac tasting at the distillery, sandy beaches on the Atlantic coast, fascinating architecture and sightseeing opportunities, Zoo and Futuroscope theme park, cycling and kayaking to name but a few.

These are a few things which might be useful for you to know before your arrival:
The swimming pool is provided for the convenience of all our guests, but in spring and autumn it’s used is subject to weather conditions. It will be closed in late autumn and re-opened in spring.
•Baby equipment (travel cot, high chair, baby bath and stair gates available with prior notice and must be reserved in advance of your arrival)
•Extra folding bed (must be booked in advance)
•Please bring your pool towels as these are not supplied. (swimming pools are closed from October to April)
•Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pets, and smoking is prohibited in the Gîte.
•Each of our Gîte has a Skybox which gives you the basic Sky TV package (except L’Ecurie). However, if you would like to access your Sky account to increase the viewing channels, please bring your own Sky card
•WIFI is free in all our Gîtes however the Internet service in our area may be intermittent at times and not always efficient
•The mobile phone signal is good generally in our area
Smoking is not permitted in the Gîtes
VEHICLE ACCESS: To provide a safe, secure and clean environment, guest’s vehicles are only permitted inside the courtyard on arrival and departure to facilitate loading and unloading. At all other times, vehicles must be parked in the car park area outside the main gates.

WE HAVE A SEPARATE LAUNDRY ROOM WITH TWO WASHING MACHINES IN THE POOL HOUSE FOR GUESTS USE FOR FREE.
