Restaurants, food & wine
The South West of France is known for its "savoir vivre" in the field of gastronomy.
The wine regions of Duras, Bergerac, Thézac and Cahors are in the vicinity and the owners can give personal advice on the various vineyards.
Also, many restaurants, reasonably priced and often with an excellent menu.
Activities
The wonders of our region:
- The Dordogne and Vézère valleys, with their prehistoric sites: Les Eyzies, La Roque St Christophe...
- The caves with concretions, the chasms with crystallisations, the shelters with prehistoric sculptures and drawings: Lascaux II, Gouffre de Padirac, Grottes de Cougnac...
- The castles that have marked the history of France and England, as well as the castle of Les Milandes: home of Josephine Baker and her children, castles of Bonaguil, Beynac and Castelnaud...
- Medieval towns and bastides: very old fortified towns. Such as Sarlat, Monpazier, Monflanquin, Villeréal...
- The old country churches, often of Romanesque architecture, the abbeys and priories: witnesses of pilgrimages... the Abbey of Cadouin, Roc-Amadour.
- The vineyards of Bergerac, Buzet, Thézac and Cahors.
- Gastronomy: the abundance of "good things in life": foie gras, confits, ceps, cheeses, fruit and vegetables... gastronomes will find a kingdom of heaven here.
- The farmers' markets with their local products.
- Parks and gardens, but above all a landscape worthy of a painter's or an artistic photographer's painting.
- Sports activities: golf, horse riding, hiking, cycling, canoeing, swimming, climbing, etc.
- Bicycle
- Near hiking trails
- Near ATB trails
- Near riding
