The house
A beautiful Dordogne house for your exclusive use for up to six people. In calm countryside with old stones, contemporary colours, superb kitchen, gnarled beams, brass beds with deep mattresses throughout and uninterrupted views. Kayak down the Dordogne, wander the sun-drenched cobbled streets of the local villages, forage for local produce, wares and bric-a-brac in surrounding markets or stay-at-home to laze by the pool or curl up with a book.
Come share our piece of heaven situated amongst some of the most highly rated beautiful villages in France (Monpazier, Belvès, Cadouin and Beaumont-du-Perigord). 18th Century elegant barn conversion, with two bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs with separate WC, kitchen and lounge downstairs, with adjoining bedroom en-suite. Full of character and charm but appointed for comfort, this house will make you never want to go anywhere else. Old meets new seamlessly here: ancient stone, lofty beams, good comfort, wood-burner, open-plan kitchen and space to relax around the terrace as well as pool with a panorama - all set in 6 stunning acres in the Dordogne.
Downstairs has an open-plan lounge/dining room/kitchen that opens up on to two terraces on either side of the house. Barbecue facilities and outside seating available. Lounge boasts two fireplaces, one open and one closed, wood burning 'Godin' for choice and atmosphere. Flat screen TV, dvd player, wifi and bluetooth speaker complete your comforts. Games, books and puzzles are provided for lazy days.
The kitchen has a gas cooker and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, mixer and blender. It also is generously equipped with glasses, crockery, cutlery, utensils, pots, pans and platters.
Off the lounge is the double bedroom with en-suite with its own sitting area and private entrance. The washing machine is also situated in the en-suite. Upstairs are two more bedrooms with a shared bathroom and separate WC. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed while the second bedroom has two singles. All bedrooms have linen, towels, duvets, pillows and throws provided.
There is so much to do in the area, and information about surrounding villages and restaurants are provided on site.

Les Belles Granges is situated 20 minutes from the Dordogne river and is located between three of the most beautiful bastide villages of the region: Beaumont-du-Perigord, Monpazier and Cadouin. These are all 8-10kms away from the house.
The house itself is set in the hamlet of Le Tournier, with total uninterrupted outlook over the pretty surrounding French countryside.

Nous avons passé une agréable semaine dans cette très jolie maison qui dispose de grandes pièces à vivre ( la chambre isolée avec son entrée indépendante est un vrai plus quand on est à deux familles ) et offre tout l'équipement nécessaire au bon fonctionnement d'une maison, voire plus. Malgré le temps mitigé nous avons quand même pu profiter du très beau jardin avec sa piscine et son terrain de pétanque, le ciel étoilé est juste magnifique !

We hebben drie fantastische weken gehad in Les Belles Granges. De locatie van het huis is top: heerlijk rustig en met een prachtig uitzicht. De tuin is geweldig met voldoende schaduw en een heel fijn zwembad. Het huis is super compleet (van melkopschuimer tot broodrooster, alles wat je elders niet vindt is hier gewoon aanwezig) en ruim. Verder is het contact met de verhuurders - indien nodig - ook snel en duidelijk.
In het echt een nog mooier en fijner plekje dan de foto's al doen vermoeden. Doe jezelf een plezier en boek!
Restaurants, food & wine
Wanting to eat out in the local area leaves one spoiled for choice! Locally in Montferrand-du-Perigord, there is Lou Peyrol, family run and well known for tasty local dishes and great hospitality. Only in the next village is the Michelin rated Table d'Leo, offering excellent value French food. Make reservations in advance. Nearby is La Source de Peyssou an authentic local gem, rarely do people depart unsatisfied. Within Beaumont there are quite a few restaurants to choose from, namely: Chez Claudette, cosy and casual French bistro and La Braise, good Italian cuisine as an alternative. For something very reasonably priced and a little different try the farmhouse local, Lesplate; one set menu and everyone in the restaurant all sitting at one table the atmosphere is convivial and the food unpretentious.
Les Belles Granges is situated on the cusp of the Perigord Paupre region which leaves one plenty of options for tasting regional wines from Bergerac and Bordeaux vineyards.
