The house
The spacious and new gîte La Montée is detached at the edge of the attractive village of Plazac. It lies on a north-facing slope so that you can enjoy the sun all day, and offers an unprecedentedly beautiful view over the green hills of the Dordogne. La Montée consists of 2 floors.
Ground floor: spacious living room with two 2-seater sofas, a dining area with six armchairs, an open kitchen with built-in appliances, the master bedroom with double bed and a spacious bathroom with shower, washbasin, toilet, washing machine and freezer. On the first floor are two bedrooms with two single beds each.
Present are a microwave, oven, 4-ring ceramic hob, refrigerator, satellite TV, CD player, terraces with garden furniture. The gîte has electric heating. Of course there is also internet access. Guests can make use of the available reading material, literature and games.
The uniquely situated swimming pool (10m x 5m) with sun loungers is equipped with an alarm system. Both from the terraces and from the pool it is wonderful to enjoy a panoramic and completely free view.

La Montée is located on the outskirts of Plazac, a typical French village with some 600 inhabitants. The baker, who also sells first necessities, and the café are at 2 minutes walking distance. The distance Utrecht-Plazac is 1000 km and therefore easy to travel in one day. The Dordogne is rich in history, with its beautiful castles, caves and medieval towns, such as Sarlat. Perigueux is very suitable as a shopping city. Although the Dordogne is a very popular holiday region, you can still wander around without meeting others. You will enjoy the peace and freedom in your cottage in the Dordogne!
The landscape is green and lovely, with rolling countryside, forests, lakes and rivers. Moreover, this region has an excellent kitchen (Perigord)! Think of the famous Foie Gras, the truffles, the walnuts and the Bergerac wines...good food and then coming home to your cottage in the Dordogne! Besides the peace and quiet and the good life, you will find impressive medieval buildings and the most important prehistoric caves of Europe, the caves of Lascaux, near Montignac, 20 minutes from Plazac.
No other river in France flows through such a varied landscape as the Dordogne. Like no other, this area has everything for a dream holiday. An idyllic landscape, utter tranquillity, clean waters and delicious cuisine.

Restaurants, food & wine
In the immediate vicinity (Montignac, Les Eyzies and Sarlat), there are wonderful restaurants and cosy cafes. At wine houses in the area you can taste and buy very good wines for a reasonable price (Bergerac and Monbazillac. In addition, one can taste and buy local products at farms (such as wine, cheese, nuts and honey).
The cuisine of the Perigord-noir is world famous. Fois gras, confit de canard and truffles are not to be sneezed at.
Activities
The gently undulating surroundings are perfect for walking and cycling.
Canoeing on the Vezere and the Dordogne is also possible. The many caves in the area, the various museums and historic villages and castles are definitely worth a visit.

We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad. Een leuk huis, gezellig ingericht.
Buiten meerdere plekken om te zitten, wat in ons geval ook echt nodig was. Vanwege de temperatuur ca. 30+was het heel fijn om ook schaduwplekken te vinden.
Het zwembad was heerlijk, werd iedere week goed schoon gemaakt.

Wij hebben in de zomer van 2010 onze vakantie doorgebracht in de schitterende gîte \'La Montée\'. We hebben enorm genoten van het sublieme uitzicht en de rustige omgeving. Op de gîte zelf valt niets op aan te merken. Alles was aanwezig voor een heerlijke vakantie! Een echte aanrader. Ook enkele mooie uitstappen gemaakt in de omgeving.

Dit is echt een fantastisch huis met een heerlijk zwembad. Wij hebben er in juni 2010 1 week gezeten en het was in 1 woord perfect. Echt een aanrader. Er is genoeg te doen in de buurt en je wordt fantastisch geholpen door de buren.
