The house
Detached gite with private pool located on 3 ha of land. A place to relax and enjoy nature and space.
But if you prefer something more active, there are many possibilities in the area (golf, canoeing, visiting castles, caves, beautiful villages).
The gite is not luxurious and not large, but it is fully equipped and cosy.
More important with a holiday home is the outdoor space, the large grounds invite you to swing on the swing set, laze in the hammock or just sit by the pool. For children, there is plenty of space to play.
The living room has a wood-burning stove for cold evenings, LCD TV (Dutch/Belgian channels), home cinema set with DVDs, books, magazines and games.
Kitchen has a 4-burner gas cooker, dishwasher, microwave, small oven, Senseo machine and all other kitchen utensils.
Two bedrooms; one with a romantic double four-poster bed (160x200) and one with two single beds (90x190). A third bed can be added on request. Bathroom with bath, shower, washbasin and toilet. The washing machine is in a separate room.
Wifi is of course available!
The large grounds around the gite are entirely at your disposal. The swimming pool (8 x 4 metres and depth going from 1.20 m to 2.00 m) is only for the guests of the gite.
Covered terrace adjacent to the gite and fine shaded terrace with swing set. For every moment of the day you can find a spot in the sun or shade.
The children can have fun with the trampoline, swings and table tennis table and there is plenty of space to play, football, badminton etc. For smaller children there is a sandpit, small slide and various toys. Of course, there is also a barbecue. ...
In short, a nice place for a nice holiday and where everyone, from big to small, can relax but also have fun!
The gite is detached and completely private, although I (owner) do stay in the main house which is also on the property. However, I do not use the swimming pool during the rental period and fully respect your privacy.
Pets are unfortunately not allowed.

The gite is located in the French countryside and is surrounded by 3 ha of land. It used to be a completely self-sufficient complex with a main house, barns, a well and a bread oven.
The main house is at some distance from the gite and is inhabited by the owner.
Around the gite is a beautiful garden with many roses, wisteria, grape, lavender and many perennials. Here you can relax in the sun or shade.
The terrain consists mainly of fields and woods. You are very private here, the nearest house is about 800 m away. You can go for lovely walks in the immediate vicinity of the gite and enjoy the many birds and butterflies. Deer are also regularly seen on the land.
The gite is situated in the heart of the Perigord Noir. All sights of the region are within easy reach; caves, castles, old villages, too many to mention. Belves is the nearest town and is at about 6 km. The place is old and has several attractions. There are also several shops and restaurants.

Wat hebben wij genoten van onze week in deze gite! Onmiddellijk waren we gecharmeerd door het gezellige huisje en de omgeving, heel afgelegen wat zorgt voor de perfecte rust omgeving. Klein, fijn en charmant maar zeker alles wat je nodig hebt van keukengerei tot badkamer en ontspanning. De verhuurder van de gite is zeker aan te raden, heel behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Ook al woont de verhuurster op het zelfde domein aan privacy zeker en vast geen gebrek! Ze laat je genieten van de rust en privacy maar staat zeker wel altijd klaar voor info of hulp. Natuurlijk is het onderhouden zwembad een extra pluspunt.
Als wij ooit terug deze omgeving komen ontdekken boeken wij zeker en vast opnieuw deze gezellige gite.Comment from Karin

Dit was onze eerste vakantie in de Dordogne. Op zich best wel een lange reis maar dit werd ruimschoots gecompenseerd door het enorm gezellige huisje. Een paradijsje in een paradijs. Het is een rustige omgeving hoewel je vanuit de verte wel hoort dat er gewerkt wordt. Een heerlijk zwembad, mooie tuin en echt veel privacy.
Het huisje is van alle gemakken voorzien en er genoeg ruimte voor vier personen. Ik weet niet wat ik meer zou kunnen wensen voor een gezellig vakantiehuisje dus daarom willen we volgend jaar weer gaan.
Karin geeft je genoeg privacy maar staat wel voor je klaar als je een vraag hebt. Een gezellige gastvrouw die ook nog even een kopje koffie wil komen drinken :-)Comment from Karin

Vier opeenvolgende fantastische zomers hier doorgebracht. Helaas afgelopen zondag de deuren gesloten omdat de kinderen (12 en 14) toe zijn aan een andere uitdaging. Wat ons betreft geen goodbye for ever!
De gite is heerlijk, knus en gezellig. En zoals de beschrijving aangeeft: het heeft alles om je optimaal thuis te voelen. Het buitenterrein is fantastisch: de rust de ruimte de privacy, de spellen voor jong en oud en uiteraard het heerlijke zwembad. Zonder overdrijven een klein paradijs en dat midden in de prachtige Dordogne! Deze streek heeft zoveel te bieden en na al die jaren zijn we eigenlijk nog lang niet uitgekeken.

Restaurants, food & wine
Of course you can visit one of the many restaurants in the area (Belves, Siorac, St. Cyprien etc.). There are also many markets where you can taste and buy delicious local products.
In the summer months there is a regular "soiree nocturne" in one of the surrounding villages. Here you can buy delicious food at various stands and enjoy a meal at long tables under the market hall, for example.
Activities
There are plenty of activities available in the area. There are several hiking trails and you can swim in or take a canoe trip on the Dordogne or Vezere rivers. There are two golf courses (9 and 18 holes) nearby. Especially in summer, many events are organised in the various villages in the area. For children, there are two climbing courses in the woods, caves, castles and much more.
