The house
You have a plot of 2500 m2 with a neat garden with shade trees and a private pool surrounding your house.
Le petit bois consists of an entrance hall, large living room with separate dining and sitting area. The sitting area consists of two spacious sofas and 1 large chair. In the middle of the sitting area is the cosy fireplace, a TV (with 42 channels, including all Dutch) and DVD (including films). Adjacent to the sitting area, you have a balcony with large terrace doors overlooking the pool and garden. In the early morning it is even possible to see the deer in the adjacent forest.
The corridor is the connecting piece to the two bedrooms, the bathroom, the (separate) toilet and the spacious kitchen. The country kitchen is equipped with all conveniences. A very wide and large sink, beautiful 5-burner gas hob with large oven and wok burner, a dishwasher, large fridge-freezer with water tap, and microwave. If you are a bon vivant, you can indulge to your heart's content in this kitchen.
The bedrooms are spacious (and high) by French standards. Bedroom 1 and 2 have a box spring of 1.60 x 2.00 metres. The third bedroom has a four-poster bed measuring 2 x 90 x 2.00 metres. The bathroom is modern and comprises a (shower) shower and washbasin. In the hallway you will find a door leading down. Downstairs you will find the third bedroom. This romantic room offers stunning views over the garden and through the French doors you can take an early morning dip in the pool.
The garage contains the washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities.
The house has no neighbours, is completely detached and has a private entrance for parking the car. The back of the house borders woodland, ensuring your privacy.
The house is not equipped with internet, a hotspot via phone works fine.

Complete privacy, tranquillity and a private swimming pool. These are the main ingredients of a stay in our detached villa 'le petit bois'.
The house is situated in the woody surroundings of Ribérac (3 km), between the tourist toppers Périgueux (35 km) and Brantôme (the Venice of the Périgord at 40 km) in the Dordogne region.
By car you can easily reach the rivers Dronne (5 km) and Dordogne (25 km). Both are pleasure rivers where you can enjoy swimming, fishing and canoeing.
The house has no neighbours, is detached and has its own entrance for parking the car.
The back of the house borders the forest, so your privacy is completely guaranteed.
The luxury swimming pool is 8 x 4 meters, 1.60 deep over the entire length and cleans automatically.
Around the pool are 6 luxury sunbeds, large parasol, some seats with chairs and a separate gazebo with lounge set, where you can relax in the summer in the shade.
Of course, there is also a barbecue. The house is situated on a quiet country road, so you can optimally enjoy the peace and quiet that the French countryside has to offer.

Restaurants, food & wine
Maison des Vins in Bergerac, is located in a 12th century building overlooking the hills of Monbazillac. Here they also explain the Bergerac wines (a.o. Bergerac and Monbazillac).
You can also taste wines at Château Le Clou.
The annual production is 100.000 bottles. The owner Manuel Killias cultivates according to the rules of organic and controlled agriculture 'Ecocert'.

Activities
Le petit bois is located near the town of Ribérac (3 km).
Ribérac is a cosy place where a big market is held every Friday. This nice farmers market is a must for everyone who loves the real French atmosphere. You can buy many local specialities here and you will also find several nice restaurants, terraces and shops in this town. You can also go here for your daily shopping at Le Clerc, Lidl, Aldi or the Intermarché. Of course there are plenty of bakers and butchers in Ribérac.
Perigueux (45 km) is the beautiful capital of the Dordogne and is definitely worth a visit.
It is lovely to stay in this historic city.
Bergerac is known for its delicious wine and Cyrano de Bergerac. Part of the old city has been restored. Here you can stroll or visit the market on Monday or Wednesday.
Brantome is the Venice of France where you can stroll along the waterfront and enjoy the market on Thursday.
In short, there is a lot to experience, to taste and to discover in this beautiful region!

The villa is 45 minutes from Roumanière airport in Bergerac. Transavia flies several times a week from Rotterdam airport to Roumanière (Bergerac). Rent a car from Roumanière airport (approx. € 250,-- per 10 days) and you will be at your ideal holiday address in no time.
In short, you can choose to be home and away within 4 hours.
