The house
This attractive authentic holiday home is very centrally located. Many highlights of the Dordogne can be visited in the vicinity. The holiday home is detached and has a sunny south-facing garden (600 m2) that is laid out in steps on old pieces of wall of the Chateau de Salignac. There are fruit trees and a sunny terrace directly against the Chateau's imposing castle wall. The house is very tastefully and comfortably furnished and fully equipped with central heating and a bathroom with bathtub and separate shower room. You can use the free high-speed internet connection (wifi) throughout the house. There are two double bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen diner. On the first floor there is also access to a large covered terrace where you can enjoy sitting outside on warm days too.Garden furniture and a barbecue are of course present.

The house is located in the old picturesque village of Salignac, in a green valley, directly below the Chateau de Salignac. Everything you need, such as a bakery, butcher, post office and supermarket, is within walking distance. On the village square there is a cosy café-restaurant with terrace and from May to September a market with fresh products from the region.

Schitterend opgeknapt huis in het mooie Salignac. De stilte in de omgeving en de prachtige sterrenhemel maakten het bijzonder. De keuken is bijzonder goed uitgerust en een plezier om in te koken. Het overdekte buitenterras zorgde ervoor dat we heel veel buiten konden zijn. Met de goede tips voor bezienswaardigheden van de verhuurster, hebben we een hele mooie vakantie gehad.

Wat een fantastisch huisje! We hebben enorm genoten! Alles was supernetjes en schoon toen we vriendelijk werden ontvangen. Mooi aan de buitenkant en binnenkant. Heerlijk geslapen en de douche is super! Fijne harde waterstraal. We hebben heel veel op de veranda gezeten, sochtends een lekker zonnetje en smiddags als het echt warm was was het goed uit te houden in de schaduw aldaar. Lekker bbq-en op de Weber, en savonds onder het genot van een drankje het nest kerkuilen horen ontwaken 🤩. Het huisje heeft ook een ideale ligging. Vanuit Sallignac sta je zo op allerlei andere mooie en gezellige dorpjes en stadjes. Ietsje verder weg is Rocamadour en le goufre de Padirac. Allebei supermooi! Ook een middagje met de kano over de Dordogne gevaren. Heerlijk en mooi om alles vanaf het water te bekijken. We zijn twee avonden op de marché gourmand geweest in het dorp. Ook echt een aanrader! Gezelligheid met de locals aan lange tafels. Lekker eten, goede wijn en live muziek! En alles voor weinig geld. Een bezoekje aan het kasteel is ook zeker leuk. Je kijkt er elke dag naar en dan is t natuurlijk wel zo leuk om te weten hoe het er vanbinnen uit ziet. In ons geval was het net een middeleeuws weekend en werd er vanalles gedemonstreerd en een soort van act opgevoerd door ridders. Ik zou het huisje aan iedereen aanraden. We hebben 2 heerlijke weken gehad. Misschien tot ooit nog eens!

Wat een prachtig idyllisch huis op een schitterende locatie.
Zeer praktisch en sfeervol ingericht. Door de dikke muren is het er binnen lekker koel. Een heerlijk overkapt terras aan de achterzijde waar je dus lekker in de schaduw kan zitten in alle rust met een prachtig uitzicht op de kasteelmuur.
Het huis ligt heel centraal gelegen ten opzichte van alle bezienswaardigheden in de omgeving met name de Middeleeuwse plaats Sarlat.
Zeker een plek om nog eens terug te komen.

Salignac is located 15 minutes by car from the medieval town of Sarlat, the historic and culinary heart of the Perigord Noir. This beautiful town is an absolute tourist centre where you can enjoy regional specialities such as confit de canard or foie gras in one of the many restaurants, or buy local produce at the very large market on Saturdays.
Activities
In the vicinity are many highlights of the Dordogne to visit. The beautiful castles of Castelnaud, Beynac, Commarque, Puymartin and Des Milandes are all within a half hour drive. The impressive caves of Proumeyssac (le Bugue) and Padirac (Rocamadour) are also within half an hour to an hour's drive. Prehistoric highlights such as Lascaux and La Roque Saint Christophe and the famous gardens of Eyrignac and Marqueyssac are also nearby.
Of course you can enjoy the beautiful nature in the area. From Salignac you can make lovely walks through vast forests and valleys. On the Dordogne and Verzère rivers you can make wonderful trips by canoe or boat. Cycling, horse riding and golf are also some of the activities to be enjoyed in the vicinity.
