The house
'Le Manoir' is very large and spacious, it is with good reason our clients call it “The Place with Space”. There are 8 large, light, airy and uncluttered bedrooms, all with their own individual bathrooms en suite and all with many interesting features, oak beams, great views etc. 'Le Manoir' offers large families or groups of friends a wonderful holiday venue. The property consists of an 18th century 'Masters House' which has been fully restored and extended. and stands in large gardens, grounds and woodlands. The house can accommodate up to 20 people in the eight large bedrooms. The whole house is fully centrally heating (hopefully not necessary!) and has a very efficient hot water system, so no cold showers!.
There are lots of terracing around the property with tables and chairs for "alfresco" dining etc. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a large barbeque on one of the terraces. Outside, there are several large terraced areas and a private swimming pool with sun terracing. The whole property is situated on top of a hill, with stunning views over the Lot-et-Garonne countryside.
This is a popular house for big groups who are seeking a relaxing holiday with family and friends in private, quiet surroundings.

Perfect location situated in the heart of the Pays de Duras wine region, in the hamlet of La Perroterie, 2kms outside the medieval town of Duras with its shops, weekly market, cafes, bars and restaurants.
This part of the Lot et Garonne, south of the Dordogne river, is an unchanging landscape of rivers, caves, chateaux, vineyards and little unspoilt villages.
Airports: Bergerac (40 minutes, RyanAir, Flybe, Jet2, transavia); Bordeaux (75 minutes, BA, EasyJet, many worldwide carriers etc)
Station: Libourne (50 minutes – TGV link to Eurostar)
Paris is 3 hours away, whilst London St. Pancras via the Eurostar is only 6 hours 45 minutes.

There are so many attractions in our area . various tourist offices, vineyards etc. to allow our clients to search for themselves the things that interest them. Obviously there are wine tours, golfing and other sporting activities including canoeing/swimming/hot air ballooning etc. There are markets, restaurants, museums and chateaus to visit, there is even a fantastic chocolate factory only a few kilometres away!.

Dear Karen and John,
I just wanted to take the time to thank you both for allowing us to spend such a beautiful two weeks at Chateau Perroterie.
Now that the long drive is over and we’ve all had time to complete the many loads of washing and get back to work it’s beginning to truly sink in just how much of a special place you have and just how much of a special time we had as a group.As you know, the 7 children loved the place and are already referring to it as “their holiday house” and asking when we are going next as they want to play in the pool and look for Dave the cat. If only life were that easy!

Dear John,
All 18 members of our family, in age ranging from 5 to 83 years, keep happy memories on the wonderful week we spend last july in your charming and spacious chateau La Perroterie. Of course the beautiful wheather contributed to the living and dining outside on the terrace overlooking the pool and the friendly landscape where we found the lake for secret swimming excursions. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the heavy stone walls and squeaking wooden stairs and corridors leading to the comfortable sleepimg rooms upstairs. It has been a wonderful experience.

Château Perroterie met daarnaast 'Le Manoir' waar wij logeren is een statig, prachtig, rustgevend en zeer ruim domein met een verbluffend uitzicht op de omliggende valleien en bossen. Wij komen hier al voor de 3de keer met onze familie en wij komen beslist nog terug !
Dergelijke accommodatie voor een grote groep is onuitgegeven : iedere slaapkamer is uitgerust met een ensuite tiptop badkamer...een ongeziene luxe ! Bovendien is er voor elk wat wils : heel veel ruimte in én buiten het huis, zodat ieder het naar zijn zin heeft , ongeacht het weer . De keuken is ook heel ruim en praktisch : niet onbelangrijk als je met velen bent !
Voor dagelijkse inkopen is er een Carrefour op nog geen 5 min rijden ( net vóór het dorp) en in het dorp hebben we een lekkere warme bakker gevonden !
De 'hosts' , Karen and John , zijn heel vriendelijk en attent en helpen onmiddellijk bij praktische probleempjes.
De omgeving is erg uitnodigend : wandelen in een prachtige, rustige omgeving langs weilanden en bossen, zwemmen, spelletjes spelen, relaxen ....er is voor elk wat wils !
Een bezoekje aan Duras is zeker ook een aanrader ! Kasteel en marktjes lokken menig toerist .
Een weekje relaxen en genieten met familie of vrienden : 1 adres ' chez Karen and John in Château Perroterie of 'Le Manoir'!
