The house
Gîte "Le Chardonnay" is one of the 4 gîtes (each with 3 stars) on our domain Gîtes "Entre les Vignes" and is situated on a small country road without through traffic, with a breathtaking view on the surrounding vineyards of the "AOC Blanquette de Limoux" and on the hills of the Corbières.
It is a lovely quiet place and also very suitable for children.
Our 4 gîtes, one of which is wheelchair friendly, have an unobstructed view of the swimming pool and the surroundings. Each gîte offers access to a private terrace at the front (partially covered) and at the back, with hardwood terrace furniture with cushions.
Gîte "Le Chardonnay" is completely new furnished for 4 to 6 persons, is on the ground floor and has no thresholds. On the photo this is the second right gite.
* Living room: sitting area, TV, DVD player, radio/CD player, comfortable 2 person sofa bed, 6 person dining area.
* Kitchenette: 4 burner stove, extractor, microwave/convection oven, dishwasher, refrigerator and coffee maker.
* 2 Bedrooms: one room with a double bed and one room with 2 single beds (can be put together to make a double bed), in every room a wardrobe.
* Bathroom: shower, washbasin and separate toilet.
* 2 Terraces (50 m2): one at the front (east), partly covered, and one at the back (west) so the whole day the sun and / or the shade can be sought: hardwood garden set with cushions.
The swimming pool with salt filter (so nice soft water and no chlorine!) is open from May to September. On the terrace are sun loungers. It has a childproof fence that meets the latest safety requirements.
Our cottages are open all year round!

After having lived in the French Alps for almost 8 years (Gîtes "Le Beau Rêve"), we fell in love with this beautiful region during a holiday and decided to leave the mountains for the sunny vineyards and mysterious castles of the "Pays Cathare" (Cathar country) in the province of Aude.
"Entre les Vignes" is situated at 500 metres from the village Tourreilles, on a country road without through traffic, with a beautiful view on the surrounding vineyards of the "AOC Blanquette de Limoux" and on the hills of the Corbières. It is a lovely quiet place and also very suitable for children.
In the Aude, you will find all of France in one province: from sandy beaches to ski slopes, from old fishing villages and medieval towns to rough castles and from rough gorges with wild rivers to beautiful rolling hills with olive trees, sunflowers and vineyards... According to many, the most beautiful region of France.
Visit the beautiful, rough castles, such as Peyrepertuse or the mysterious Montségur from the Grail legend, old abbeys and the magnificent medieval Cité of Carcassonne with its knightly tournaments (the best preserved walled city of France, on the World Heritage list of UNESCO).
Furthermore, there are many cosy old villages and towns in the neighbourhood with terraces, (antique) markets and village festivals, for example the medieval market town of Mirepoix and in Rennes-les-Bains you will find warm thermal baths, especially for rheumatism.
Nearby Limoux (7 km.) has a cosy square with many terraces and in the summer months a weekly night market, antique markets, free concerts and an international dance festival.
In short: we think this is the most beautiful region of France!

Wij, een gezin met 3 kinderen, 1-4-7 jaar, hebben hier gedurende 2 weken de tijd van ons leven gehad! Kinderbedje en stoel stonden klaar voor onze jongste kadet.
Prachtige ligging, huisje proper en van alle comfort voorzien.
Theo en Marjan zijn lieve sociale mensen die klaar staan met raad en daad.
Zeer goede uitvalsbasis om de streek te verkennen!
Het zwembad was zalig om in af te koelen en zeker niet te koud voor de kinderen.Het enige 'minpunt' was dat wij onze kleinste jongen (1 jaar) niet konden laten kruipen in de tuin of op terras. Beide (prachtige) terrassen zijn voorzien van kiezelsteentjes, wat hij maar al te graag in zijn mond stopt.
De tuin is prachtig, maar niet om op blote voeten te lopen anders heb je prikker in je voeten(bepaald kruid gebonden aan de streek en de droogte).
Maar de kinderen zijn het snel gewoon om hun slippers aan te doen ;) dus voor de oudere geen probleem.Wij komen graag nog eens terug naar deze top locatie en hebben hard genoten en raden dit aan bij vrienden en familie!

Dit was onze tweede keer bij Entre les Vignes en het was weer heerlijk.
Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame hosts en het huisje/de huisjes zijn zeer compleet

Wij hebben een heerlijke week gehad bij Theo en Marjan. De huisjes zijn heel compleet en alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. Mooi uitzicht vanaf de huisjes en en het zwembad. Wat een rust en stilte! Onze kinderen (7 en 3) hebben zich goed vermaakt in het zwembad en in de “bibliotheek” waar ze spelletjes speelden met de kinderen van de andere huisjes.

Restaurants, food & wine
-TOQUES ET CLOCHERS- : In Limoux, or one of the 40 surrounding villages, one of the biggest wine festivals of France is held every spring on the weekend before Easter: the local winegrowers let you taste the most delicious wines of the region. Everything takes place in the open air, where the many bands and eateries make it a big party! The proceeds are used to restore the church of the organising village.
The Languedoc and the Corbières are of course very famous for their wine, so a visit to one of the many wine cellars should definitely be on the programme. Don't forget to taste the delicious "Blanquette de Limoux": the first sparkling wine in the world, invented in 1531 by the monks of the Abbey of St. Hilaire and the precursor of the champagne!
In the many restaurants in the area you can enjoy the southern French cuisine and the various local dishes.
Activities
In the hills and mountains of the area are beautiful hiking trails: from easy walks to tough tours, from sheltered valleys with sloping vineyards and wild almond trees to open peaks with magnificent views. Walking maps are available, but of course we are also happy to give you tips!
The area is also very beautiful for those who prefer to go out by mountain bike.
You can swim in several lakes in the area and on the river Aude you can make beautiful canoe trips or wild-water rafting.
The Tour-de-France comes to the area every year and regularly passes through Limoux : In 2019 again starting point !
The beaches of the Mediterranean Sea are about an hour's drive away.
The Pyrenees, where you can ski and cross-country ski in winter, are also an hour away.

Our cottages are open all year round!
We live with our family near the cottages and are therefore always nearby for tips and questions about the area.
Pets are not welcome.
There is wireless internet connection (wifi).
Various supermarkets (including LIDL) are 5 to 7 km away.

Getting there by car:
-Entre les Vignes- is 30 min. from the A61 motorway, at Carcassonne exit Limoux.
Flying:
RYANAIR: Carcassonne airport 30 min, Beziers airport 75 min, Barcelona-Girona airport 2,5 hours.
KLM or Transavia: Toulouse airport at 1 hour, Montpellier airport at 2 hours.
Car hire is available at all airports.

PRICES ARE PER GÎTE: (including sheets, gas, water, electricity and free use of washing machine) :
- high season = July and August = 790 euros per week, min, 1 week
- first week of July and last week of August = 640 euros per week, min, 1 week
- June and September = 490 euros per week / 79 euros per night, min, 4 nights
- April, May and October = 390 euros per week / 64 euros per night, min. 4 nights
- all other periods = 340 euros per week / 57 euros per night, min. 4 nights
From the beginning of July to the end of August, the gîtes are rented from Saturday to Saturday, with a minimum stay of 1 week.
For the rest of the year, we apply a minimum stay of 4 nights and different arrival days are possible.
When booking for 2 weeks, you will receive a 5% discount on the 2nd week.
When booking for 3 weeks, you get 10% discount on the 3rd week.
Cleaning fee = only if you do not want to do the final cleaning yourself = 50 euros per gîte.
Tourist tax is not included in the price and is requested to be paid on arrival.
