The house
GITE LAURIER is situated together with 4 other gîtes and 2 luxury glamping lodges spread over a Mediterranean park of about 3 hectares. Each accommodation has a unique and intimate location by the various level differences that characterize the terrain and is surrounded by a beautiful garden and a spacious terrace where your privacy is guaranteed. The detached house is situated in a quiet location and has a beautiful view of the valley. It has 2 bedrooms, one with a bunk bed and a single bed, the other with a double bed. Furthermore, you are provided with all conveniences: well-equipped kitchen, living room with TV and cosy wood-burning stove, dishwasher, washing machine. Bathroom with shower and a separate toilet. The terrace is very intimate, surrounded by greenery and offers a beautiful view.

Lodève, a historical and cultural artist city, is situated in the valley of the Hérault between the last hills before the lowlands of the Mediterranean Sea, in the middle of a grandiose nature reserve. The Hérault, with its authentic French atmosphere and blessed with the Mediterranean sea climate, is very typical because of its incredible diversity of landscapes that range from the foothills of the Massif Central to the Mediterranean, via mountains and hills, 'garrigues' and vineyards to the Mediterranean lowlands. A concentration of reliefs, natural resources and exceptional sites, some of which are classified as "Grands Sites".

Mooi gelegen accommodatie: rustig, verzorgd, mooi zwembad. Leuk speelterrein voor grote en kleine kinderen. De eigenaar is steeds beschikbaar en de communicatie verliep vlot.

2 weken genoten van een heerlijke vakantie en verbleven in gite Rose. Eenvoudig maar zeer compleet ingericht vakantiehuisje op een prachtig domein. Mooie nieuwe keuken. De gites liggen ver uit elkaar, zodat je voldoende privacy hebt bij je eigen gite. Mooi zwembad met verschillende terrassen en uitzicht op de bergen in de verte. Goed verzorgd speel/spelterrein waar voor elke leeftijd wel wat te doen is. Enige minpunt vonden wij het tweepersoons bed, wat met een afmeting van 1,40m wat smal is. Maar de afmetingen van het bed stonden keurig vermeld, dus dat wisten we van tevoren. Bij vragen of problemen is de eigenaresse goed te bereiken en wordt er snel actie ondernomen. Ideale uitvalsbasis voor de prachtige en zeer diverse omgeving. Genoeg te doen binnen max 45 minuten reistijd zoals wandelen (direct vanuit het domein)/grotten/prachtige dorpjes (St. Guilhem le désert)/Pont du diable(zwemmen)/gorges de l’Hérault (kanoën)/cirque de Navacelles/cirque de Mourèze/Lac du Salagou/accrobranche/Montpellier/strand etc.

Een goede ontvangst met een flesje wijn erbij.
Het domein is erg mooi en goed onderhouden en voorzien van leuke plekjes waar de kinderen zich kunnen amuseren. Ons huisje was ok maar wel merkbaar dat het een ouder huisje is. (geen stopcontacten op 1 van de kamers, ietwat verouderde keukentoestellen)
Het was erg warm in het huisje (geen airco) Maar het was ook wel een erg warme periode toen wij er verbleven.
Zeker een aanrader om met kinderen naartoe te komen. Het zwembad is echt heel leuk en de kans dat er andere kinderen zijn om mee te spelen is groot.
Restaurants, food & wine
The Hérault is one of the largest and oldest wine-growing regions of France. The area has a very suitable climate, a great variety of soils and a wide range of cépages. Delicious wines that are now rivalling the greatest 'grand crus' of France. Taste them in combination with the regional cheeses such as the goat cheese Pélardon or the well-known Roquefort.
Activities
You can relax by the pool, play a game of pétanque or pamper yourself with a wellness massage on the spot. For the children, there is plenty of room to play. Less than 15 minutes away is a beautiful lake, Lac du Salagou, where the red colour of the rocks contrasts beautifully with the deep blue water. You can have a lovely swim there, but also practice various water sports. A day of kayaking on the Hérault is also one of the possibilities and the distance to the well known bathing resorts as Sète, Cap d'Agde and Valras is about 45 minutes and very easy to do. If you like walking, cycling or mountain biking, there are many possibilities. We are happy to help you with beautiful route descriptions in the immediate vicinity. If you like cities, you are within an hour in Montpellier or Béziers.
