The house
Les Fourcaries is a style-restored 18th-century farmhouse in the South of France, which consists of 2 attached equivalent holiday homes that can be rented together or separately. Les Fourcaries has its own driveway.
The houses are spacious and comfortably furnished, and have private terraces with privacy. Garden furniture and barbecue are available for each house.
Both houses overlook the beautifully landscaped, ecological private pool, and also by the pool each has its own terrace within the fence of sheep fences. There is direct access to the pool from the caves of both houses.
Built in 2006, the pool consists of a swimming area (6 by 14 metres, up to 1.80 deep) with an adjacent pond with plants and flowers for water purification.
Les Fourcaries 1 has on the ground floor a hall with WC, a spacious kitchen with door to a terrace, sitting room with fireplace and bedroom (with door to a small terrace) and bathroom with WC. On the attic floor is a second bedroom, in the basement with French door to the terrace is a third bedroom with bathroom.
In the grounds of Fourcaries 1 is a 2.50 m trampoline with safety net (only for 1 person up to 70 kg).

Located on a hill, Les Fourcaries has wide views of surrounding woods and fields. (See also the satellite photo from Google)
In Salviac (7 km) there are several shops and a supermarket and weekly markets. Gourdon, a medieval town, with markets, supermarkets and cinema is 14 km away.
The Lot lies between the Dordogne and Lot rivers, in both you can swim and canoe. The region is known for its tranquillity, green nature, varied rocky landscape, authentic villages and towns (Sarlat, Cahors, Rocamadour, Domme, Saint Cirq Lapopie), with beautiful castles and caves.
30 km south flows the Lot, through vast, rolling vineyards, with many chateaus of Cahors wines.

We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad in Fourcaries! Enorm genoten van de rust en de grote tuin met de zwemvijver waar onze kinderen eindeloos zochten naar kikkervisjes (heeft ie al pootjes?) en kikkers! Het bezoek aan Gouffre de Padirac was fantastisch en natuurlijk de markten, in Cazals (meteen na aankomst op zondagochtend!) en natuurlijk Sarlat. Echt Super!

We hebben genoten! We hebben gebruik gemaakt van de zwemvijver waar we vele grote en kleinere kikkervisjes zagen, en ook kikkers. 's Avonds hoorden we de vroedmeesterpadden vrolijk fluiten. Heerlijk om in slaap te vallen met dat geluid.
Ook zagen we af en toe een ree: fantastisch !
's Nachts waren soms muizen aktief: dus eetbare dingen moesten goed "achter slot en grendel".
Het huis en de tuin zijn fantastisch. Lekker veel ruimte voor iedereen. En werkelijk alles wat we nodig hadden is aanwezig; heel fijn. Graag tot een volgende keer...Karina Bollen from Maastricht,
Geweldige tijd gehad in dit prachtige huis met zwemvijver. Wij met gezin van 5 personen genoeg ruimte voor ons allemaal. Zou zeker nog een keer terug willen. Prachtige groene omgeving met veel mooie dorpjes, markten en natuur.
Het is heerlijk rustig, je hoorde de stilte.
Restaurants, food & wine
The region (Quercy, Perigord) is famous for its cuisine with truffles, foie gras, confits, walnuts (oil), honey and cheeses and the famous Cahors wine. In the area are several restaurants in different price ranges.
Activities
There is much to do in the area: swimming, canoeing, hiking, cycling (bike rental in Cazals), horse riding (10 km away is a riding school with Dutch guide/instructor), visiting caves (Padirac, Lascaux), museums (Zadkine) and picturesque villages in the area. Along the Lot are the famous vineyards of Cahors wine.
In summer, several villages organise (2nd hand) markets, music festivals and other activities. Each house has a folder with leaflets on the various sights and activities in the region and walking guides and maps.

Further remarks
In the high season a discount of €100 applies for a rental period of more than 1 week on the additional week.
When renting both houses at the same time (Fourcaries 1 and 2) there is also a discount of €100 on the week price.
The house can be occupied from Saturday 16.00 hours and should be vacated before 10.00 hours on the day of departure.

Cancellation conditions
Landlord will charge the following amounts depending on the date of cancellation by the tenant:
cancellation up to 42 days before the start of the rental period: 50 euros.
cancellation between the 42nd and the 28th day before the start of the rental period: 30% of the rent
cancellation between the 28th and 14th day before the start of the rental period: 75% of the rental
cancellation less than 14 days before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental.
The low season for the houses runs from 1 October to 1 May, except for the Christmas weeks which are considered half-season. The weekly price then excludes heating costs.
The half-season from 1 May to 1 July and from 31 August to 1 October.
For rental periods of more than 1 week, a discount of €100 applies to the extra week(s).
Prices include tourist tax.
Additional costs are in pre and post season any heating costs. A deposit of €150 is requested. The extra cleaning is included in the price. Please leave the house as you found it.
Bed linen and towels can be supplied clean for € 15 per package per person.
