The house
Beautifully restored "Mas" (manor farm) with large private pool (fenced and child friendly) located outside the village Espédaillac in the department of Lot. With the heated pool you will enjoy a constant temperature of 25 degrees also outside the summer season.
This comfortable holiday home for 8 people plus 1 baby ( suitable for 2 families) is very well suited for those who like tranquility and space (with or without children) and who want to experience the real French life!
The house has an authentic spacious living room with huge fire place. In spring and autumn you can relax with a book or a glass of wine in front of the fire place.
The living room is completely restored and has under floor heating, a nice large sofa, 2 love seats and 2 arm chairs. There is a large LCD screen ( with more than 500 channels via satelite dish) and there is a complete stereo set with DVD player. Your can also connect your laptop or I-pod and enjoy your own films and music.
The french doors will give you direct acces to the terrace and the completely fenced pool with large sun terrace.
The spacious kitchen is equipped with anything you might need. Plenty of crockery, pots and pans, 2 fridges, freezer, washer and dryer, dishwasher, oven and microwave. There is always a supply of basic products such as coffee, tea, oil, herbs, toilet paper etc. which guests can use. To cook delicious meals you will find many kitchen utensils, from food processor to larding pins.
The first floor has 4 beautiful bedrooms, each with its own colour palet. There are two double (parents) bed rooms each with comfortable double beds.. The other two bedsrooms each have two single beds. In one of these rooms the beds can be put next to each other. For the little ones there is a cot, high chair and stair safety gate available.
The first floor also has the bathroom with shower and toilet. There is another seperate toilet on the ground floor.
Smoking is not allowed in the house.
The heated pool measures 14,5 x 4,5 metres and has three levels. The first shallow lever is right beneath the Roman steps (for the very little ones). After this large step is the next level which is 85 cms deep. A few strokes and you reach the deepest level of 1.80 metres. Surrounding the pool and the house are large sun and shadow terraces. There are sunbeds, garden furniture and parasols

Between the rivers Dordogne and Lot lies the beautiful quant town Espédaillac. At 4 kms from the village is Mas de l’Artillou, beautiully located with views of the surrounding hills. Shopping can be done at 5-10 minutes from the gite. (Livernon of Assier) The nearest larger supermarkets are in Figeac or Gramat. (20 kms)

Wij hebben genoten van een weekje in het huisje voorzien van alle comfort in een rustige groene omgeving. Een weekje was eigenlijk te kort om alles te verkennen. We waren er met 5 volwassenen en 2 kinderen van 11j en 14j.
Het zwembad is een extra troef bij mooi weer.
In de omgeving kan je mooie wandelingen maken en mooie stadjes bezoeken daarnaast kan je eens gaan kanovaren op de rivier.

We hebben genoten van onze week in Mas de l'Artillou. Een mooi, gezellig en authentiek gerestaureerd huis voorzien van alles wat je maar kan bedenken. De persoonlijke welkom-kaart (met wijn en koffie) en de fijne ontvangst van Evelyn zorgden voor dat tikkeltje extra als start van onze vakantie. En dan die rust in de prachtige natuur rondom het huis... zalig gewoon. We hebben dankzij jullie tips een mooie streek ontdekt! Dankjewel!

Wat een verrassing toen wij aankwamen rijden. Alles klopte, een waanzinnig mooi authentiek huis. Een woonkeuken waar niets aan ontbrak en wat zag het er gezellig uit. De woonkamer zo ingericht dat je je meteen thuis voelt. Buiten een groot zwembad heerlijk verwarmd en een uitzicht werkelijk zo mooi, je zit midden in de natuur. wij konden er nog wel een paar weken zitten. Heel hartelijk dank Franklin en Sonja, wij hebben heel erg genoten!!!

Restaurants, food & wine
This region is well known for it culinairy specialties and Cahors wines. Famous are the Foie Gras, Magret de canard, truffles and saffron and of course Cabecou or Rocamadour cheese. The area has many small restaurants in which you eat really well for relatively little money.
Activities
There is plenty to do in the area for both the active holiday maker as the culinairy enthousiast.
Close to the gite is the starting point for several walks. There is a tenniscourt in the village for which a membership is available.
Horse riding at 15 kms and golf at 25 kms.
Swimming can be done in the rivers Lot, Dordogne and Céle. It is also possible to rent canoes here. Highly recommended.
During the summer months there are country fairs and the well known “vide greniers” en “brocantes”(car boot sales/flea markets) to visit.
Rocamadour is a well known tourist attraction with many sights and activities for young and old.
And don't forget St Cirq Lapopie, well known for its beautiful location raised above the river Lot. This medieval town is build against a steep rock wall at 390m height. Further more there are the caves of Padirac and Peche Merle, the open air museum of Cuzals with its many activities or step aboard the steam train with the children in Martel.

Additional price info and offers
Outside high season, prices are based on 4 person occupation. Larger groups 35 euros per person ( with the exception of 0- 3 year olds)
Discount possible for 2 person occupation. Prices per week include energy costs and don't include manditory cleaning costs.
The pool opens in 2015 and is heated from 30 May to 26 September. Outside this period upon request.
Cleaning costs: 90 euros for one week. 135 euros for two weeks.
Security Deposit: 350 euros. The first payment is 30 % of the rental price. The second payment has to be made and credited to our bankaccount four weeks prior to arrival, being the remaining 70% plus extra options (cleaning, linen, security deposit, etc.)
Linen rental: 15 euros pp. For which you will receive a bath towel, face cloth and bed linen (bed will be made for you). Please bring your own pool/ bathing towels. There are always kitchen towels/tea towels in the kitchen .
