The house
This very spacious gite has an open living room and a free outside area with various shaded breakfast possibilities. Kitchen with dishwasher and microwave. On the first floor two joined beds in a spacious bedroom. In the living room a double sofa bed. Washing machine in the main house. Completely free lying. Wifi available, included. Beautiful outdoor area with lots of privacy on the sunny side, nice view. Have breakfast in the arbour; dine and relax is also possible, of course. There is also an authentic tobacco barn, from the time when the region was still the largest tobacco producer in France. Upper floor can be used for yoga and creative activities. Large swimming pool with 110 metres of terrace (partly covered).

The gite is situated together with a house and barns at 200 metres from the Dordogne. The own garden (1.5 ha) is laid out like a park, with a beautiful new swimming pool. Completely free and safe. There is a recreation room and bicycles are available. Martel is a beautiful town; nearby are special towns like Rocamadour and Sarlat. Recreation possibilities abound. Horse riding tours in the neighbourhood. Castle tours and canoeing are popular. The river of course offers the best possibilities, but in the evening at the gite or by the pool it is lovely to relax, against the illuminated rock face of Gluges. Table tennis, table football or Dutch TV (almost impossible to imagine, but if it rains...).

Wat een aanrader! Prachtig gelegen vakantiehuis op een groot landgoed. Vanuit een schoon en praktisch gelegen zwembad ,kijk je op het pittoreske Gluges en mooie rotspartijen, wat een verwennerij! Royaal huis met badkamer en wc op elke slaapkamer. Ook op regenachtige dagen genoeg plekjes om heerlijk ongestoord weg te dromen in een spannend boek. Ook de omgeving bied vele mogelijkheden om je te vermaken.

Helemaal top, meer dan dat we verwacht hadden! Zo heeft elke slaapkamer een eigen badkamer, zeker een pluspunt. Een super mooie omgeving met rivier dichtbij, en alles op het domein wat je nodig hebt. Zwembad met buitendouche en toilet, BBQ, schaduwplaatsjes onder de bomen in de tuin. Huis met alles erop en eraan. Instant vakantiegevoel!

Wij kijken terug op een heerlijk verblijf in Laroche. Zeer ruime gite en van alle gemakken voorzien zelfs de luxe van een afwasmachine en het gebruik van een wasmachine. Je waant je even grootgrondbezitter op dit prachtige perceel van 1,5 ha met alle privacy. Heerlijk buiten ontbijten en genieten van een kopje koffie op het bankje in de zon omgeven door lavendel bevolkt door talloze vlinders. Vanuit Laroche zijn er vele mogelijkheden voor het maken van uitstapjes naar o.a. leuke stadjes en kastelen. Een prachtige omgeving om te wandelen en te fietsen. Leuk om eens een marktje te bezoeken met aansluitend een gezellige lunch op een van de vele terrasjes. Daarna wacht er het heerlijke zwembad voor de nodige afkoeling. En dan tijd om te genieten van een heerlijk glas wijn met de nodige franse kaasjes....
Kortom het is/was genieten in "La Douce France"! Wat wil een mens nog meer. Wij komen zeker terug!
Restaurants, food & wine
Regional culinary: nuts. fois-gras and truffles. Martel has smaller and larger restaurants, most of them located on and around the medieval market square. Farmers in the neighbourhood sell their regional products (cheeses, truffles). Our neighbour manages the nut groves around the house. Also on our own property you will find nuts, cherries, grapes and figs. Wines of Cahors and Bergerac can be found nearby; a tour to the famous white wines of Montravel is worthwhile, to be combined with Sarlat and the caves of Lascaux.
Activities
Swimming, tennis courts and water recreation on the Dordogne, two canoe rental companies, caves, hiking trail GR46, tourist train, castles and old cities. Mountain biking is possible, but also "normal" cycling and walking. Also horse riding tours in the neighbourhood.

Further remarks
The gite is at a distance from the house, there is no hearing contact, nor can you see each other. The pool is shared. Cleaning is done by someone from the neighbourhood, so you will always find a clean gite.
Additional price info and offers
the gite is very spacious. there is a sofa bed for a third and fourth person. this does not affect the rates.High season concerns July and August, and the May holidays (school holidays). From November to April no rentals.
Additional costs are cleaning (€75) and deposit (€200).
