The house
Gîte Amélie is located at the edge of the orchard, near the old walnut tree. The gîte was completely renovated in 2022 and attractively furnished for two people. To allow our guests to enjoy our characteristic place in peace and quiet, we only receive adults.
The gîte has an open kitchen, equipped with a dishwasher, gas cooker with electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, air conditioning and a Nespresso & filter coffee machine. From the kitchen you overlook your terrace and the orchard. In the living room, with French windows, there is a cosy round dining table with four chairs, a two-seater sofa and two wicker chairs. Via the available Chromecast (Wi-Fi) you can connect your mobile phone or tablet to the TV screen. The bathroom, on the ground floor, has a spacious shower, toilet and sink.
Upstairs is the bedroom with a comfortable 160x200 double bed and air conditioning. This bedroom is accessible via the loft. In the loft there are two more comfortable 80x200 single beds. Of course, we can also turn these two beds into a double bed. If you wish to come with three or four adults, please consult us. The Velux windows on the loft are fitted with blackout and solar protection blinds.
The cottage is equipped with air conditioning for a pleasant summer temperature. There is an air conditioning unit in the upstairs bedroom and in the downstairs kitchen. The terrace in front of the gîte has a garden table with four chairs and a parasol. There are also two lovely sun loungers for a relaxing start to the holiday. From the terrace you overlook the orchard with swimming pool. Here there are deck chairs, parasols and an outdoor shower.
Gite Amélie is located next to gite Julotte (sleeps 2). Both gites are separated by a wall and plants. The large orchard of over 3000m2 and the swimming pool of 54m2 are entirely at the guests' disposal.

Gîte Amélie is located in Lieu-dit Dordé, 2 kilometres from the village of Mauroux. Mauroux has a village shop where you can order bread, a bar, a restaurant, a post office, a library and a fitness trail. From Beaux Moments there is a footpath to Mauroux, a nice walk along the edge of the forest of about 25 minutes.
About a 10-minute drive away is Tournon d'Agenais, one of the most beautiful towns in France. Here there is a beautiful viewpoint and a few restaurants. In the summer months of July and August, there is a market on Sundays and a marché gourmande on Friday evenings.
For shopping, it is best to go to Montayral. Here you will find large supermarkets such as Leclerc, Intermarché and Lidl. You can also refuel here or charge your electric car. There is also a pharmacy, bank, delicatessen, bakery etc. This is about a 10-minute drive away.

Een pareltje onder de vakantiebestemmingen! Een Gîte voorzien van alle gemakken en met liefde en smaak ingericht en aangekleed. In de keuken is ruimschoots servies en apparatuur enz aanwezig. Zeer rustig gelegen op een prachtig landgoed met vrij uitzicht op een boomgaard en een heerlijk zwembad met fijne ligstoelen. De eigenaren laten je bij aankomst al thuis voelen en doen er echt alles aan om hun gasten een heerlijke vakantie te bezorgen. In de directe omgeving is veel te bekijken en te beleven. Ook fietsers en wandelaars kunnen vanaf de Gîte hun hart ophalen. Een echte aanrader!
Restaurants, food & wine
The Lot region is rich in honest and delicious local produce.
The Lot valley is a beautiful wine region. The most famous grape is the Malbec, which is used to make powerful red wines and rosés. There are also white wines made from Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon, among others. The region is also known for its walnuts, plums, truffles and foie gras. You can visit many local producers for explanation and of course to taste.
In the area, there are several places where you can have a simple but delicious lunch. There are also several good restaurants for a culinary evening out. We are happy to let you know our favourite addresses!
Activities
Mauroux is located in the beautiful valley of the Lot River. The valley has a rich history and beautiful nature. The area is great for hiking, cycling and fishing and there are beautiful medieval towns to visit. Some beautiful bastide towns include Puy l'Evéque, Tournon d'Agenais, Penne d'Agenais, Villeréal, Monflaquin and Monpazier. A cycle route runs through the valley, the so-called Voie Verte, and at Puy l'Evéque you can take to the water.
In the hilly landscape there are many vineyards, great for touring or tasting. Here, the Malbec grape in particular is grown, producing powerful red and rosé wines. Almost every day there is a nice market nearby and in the summer months of July and August marchés gourmandes are organised. The region has many delicious local products such as wine, walnuts, plums and truffles. You can visit many local producers for an explanation of the products and, of course, a tasting.
There are also old castles, beautiful viewpoints, and lovely gardens to visit. The air is very pure so you can often enjoy a beautiful starry sky at night. On Friday evenings, you can visit the observatory in Montayral for more explanations and stargazing.
The Lot is a beautiful authentic region for a wonderful holiday. Welcome to Beaux Moments!

Further remarks
Gîte Amélie is less suitable for guests who have difficulty climbing stairs. The bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs.
The gîte is equipped for two adults. If you wish to come with three or four adults, please consult us.
To allow our guests to quietly enjoy our characteristic place, we only receive adults.
Gîte Amélie is located next to gîte Julotte (2 persons). It is ideal to rent both gîtes for a holiday with family and/or friends.
Smoking and pets are not allowed.

In the middle and low season the cottage can also be booked for a weekend, long weekend or mid week.
We would like to ask you to bring your own towels for use at the swimming pool.
