The house
When you drive up the long driveway, you immediately know that you are on holiday here; the peaceful atmosphere of the past immediately comes to the fore. Plenty of green, and the centuries-old buildings immediately let you know that this is a special place.
After passing through the wrought iron gate, you continue to the stone gate just before the large house, known in the region as the Château de Sérignac. It is an ancient estate whose history we know from 1500.
And that is where you are going to stay. On the first floor of this Château, you will find the Gobelin. You get there via the monumental main entrance through the impressive stone staircase from before 1757.
Meanwhile, you can feast your eyes on the garden, a style garden with boxwood hedges and a large park behind it dating from 1850. Everywhere there are benches where you can sit and read, doze off amidst the statues and gnomes.
As soon as you enter the flat you feel the luxury of the château. The salon with its authentic tiled floor and fireplace with imposing chimney immediately takes you back to the eighteenth century. Here you can sit on the comfortable sofa, with a glass in your hand, and dream about what it must have been like in the past; army officers in their red uniforms with the sabre at their hip (we found one!).
From here you have a wonderful view of the fairytale forest and the lawn with boxwood hedges. What a great way to start your holiday!
Through the modern 50's style open kitchen you enter a wide corridor. There you have the spacious bathroom with beautiful design shower and sink, set against the natural stone wall.
On either side of the bathroom are two bedrooms, both with fireplace. The blue bedroom at the garden side has a beautiful view on the fairy-tale forest and sleeps 3, the other one, for 2 persone,n with the French balcony looks out over the village and beyond.
Grab the picnic baskets and enjoy your own sunny spot in the stylish garden, nice with picnic table, deck chairs, barbecue and parasols in the garden, shielded by the boxwood hedge.

Sérignac is a small village in the department Lot. It has 300 inhabitants, of which 45 live in the village centre (Le Bourg). It is situated in the northwest of the department Lot, close to the departments Dordogne, Lot et Garonne and Tarn et Garonne, in the region Quercy Blanc. The landscape is a limestone plateau, interspersed with valleys that have been carved over many years by what are now babbling brooks.

We live in the middle of the Cahors vineyards. Wine tasting at one of the many chateaus, such as
Latuc, le Théron is one of the main attractions. At Château Latuc you can get explanations in Dutch.
Tasty food in one of the many restaurants, from simple rural to haute cuisine. Nearby is a workmen's/drivers' restaurant, an experience not to be missed. In the village itself is a small restaurant with bar.
The typical dishes are often with duck, from duck breast to fresh duck liver. Famous is the salad Quercynoise - a complete palette of the products of the region.
A special experience is the Marché Gourmand. This is really something special: on the village square are about 6 - 10 local farmers (cheese, duck, fruit, wine of course) where you can buy what you like to enjoy on the spot, at long tables. It usually starts at 7 pm, the atmosphere is great and it lasts until late!
Activities
In the immediate vicinity you can make long and short walks and cycle tours, either easy over the plateau or more strenuous through the valleys. Descriptions of the walking routes are available, the cycle routes are clearly marked. ATB enthusiasts are also catered for and this activity is very popular.
If you want to go canoeing on the Lot (12 km away), you can rent a boat there for a lovely trip on the water.
