The house
Behind the imposing facade of Le Prieuré, a former convent from the early 1800s, is a small paradise with 5 chambres d´hôtes and 3 independent holiday homes . Le Prieuré is located in the beautiful surroundings of the Dordogne and Lot rivers and near Souillac. Uniquely, Le Prieuré has a chapel still in its original state where you can retire to listen to pleasant music.
The fully equipped Gîtes are situated on the garden side and offer a lot of privacy. The Farmhouse is the oldest part of Le Prieuré and has direct access to the chapel from the private garden. The Atelier has a private terrace and views of the garden and patio. The Pavillon is a cosy house with a private terrace situated in the shade of 2 fig trees.

Le Prieuré is centrally located in the Dordogne from where you can make nice trips to the famous towns of Sarlat,Domme, Beynac and Rocamadour. The town of Souillac is 2 km away. It offers plenty of shops, terraces, restaurants, museums and markets.
After discovering beautiful surroundings, you can enjoy Le Prieuré and its beautiful courtyard, the large romantic garden with rose beds, shaded and sunbathing corners, a HEATED swimming pool and, above all, lots of silence and space.

Op zaterdag 14 mei werden we heel hartelijk ontvangen door de familie Landman (Saskia en Martin). De gîte was werkelijk geweldig en van alle gemakken voorzien. Superschoon en.....voor € 12,50 ook nog een opgemaakt bed. Het bed was uiterst comfortabel en we hebben dan ook heerlijk geslapen. Le Prieuré is een echte aanrader. Wij gaan er zeker nog een keer heen en dan wellicht een weekje langer. Wij hadden 'het geluk' dat de B&B nog niet open was, waardoor we in alle rust van de prachtige locatie konden genieten. Mijn vrouw en ik willen bij deze Saskia en Martin bedanken voor onze heerlijke vakantie in hun prachtige gîte.

The Dordogne is known for its good cuisine, excellent wines and hospitable people. It is a surprise every time to taste a new regional dish. Prices are very acceptable.
