The house
The holiday home is located in the lively village of Sorede, about 5 kilometres from Argeles sur Mer, a well-known seaside resort with beautiful beaches.
Sorede is also easily accessible by plane; the airport of Girona, with which several airlines have a scheduled service from the Netherlands, is 100 kilometres away.
The house is well insulated, so cool in summer and comfortably warm in winter thanks to a wood-burning stove.
The sunny backyard offers a lot of privacy. A beautiful old oak tree provides the necessary shade.
The house has a bright room of 35 m2 with doors to the garden, a dining area and a comfortable sitting area.
The kitchen is equipped with a large fridge-freezer, an oven and a dishwasher. There are two bedrooms with built-in wardrobes, one with 1 double bed and one with 2 single beds. Duvets are provided, bed linen including towels and tea towels must be brought with you.
There are also two small bathrooms, each with a washbasin, shower and toilet.
The house is surrounded on three sides by a spacious garden with plenty of sun and also the necessary shade (in total about 400 m2)
The house has a good wireless internet connection (WIFI), which can be used free of charge.

The village
Sorede is a picturesque Catalan village with about 2,500 inhabitants. It is beautifully situated, at the foot of the Albères Mountains and about 6 kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea.
The holiday home is a two-minute walk from the old village centre, with a café, a terrace and a pizzeria. Nearby you will find a bakery, a butcher, a hairdresser and other businesses. You can go to the village for all your shopping. There is a market twice a week. There are also several large supermarkets 3 kilometres away.
About 6 kilometres from the village is Argelès, a seaside resort with kilometres of sandy beach and plenty of entertainment, bars and restaurants. North of Argelès, the sandy beaches stretch for dozens of kilometres to St Cyprien and Canet Plage.
To the south, the coast is rocky with beautiful coves, small beaches and picturesque coastal towns. One of the most beautiful and well-known is the village of Colliore, beautifully situated on a bay. A little further along the coastal road to the south is the village of Banyuls, also made famous by the sculptor Maillol, whose sculptures can be seen along the promenade.
Famous artists such as Matisse, Picasso and many others have also captured the beauty of the region in their paintings, many of which can be seen in Colliore and in the museum of modern art in Ceret.

We hebben 2 weken van deze prachtige bestemming mogen genieten. Het dorp Sorede is sfeervol en op loopafstand. Het huis is meer dan compleet en zeer smaakvol ingericht. De tuin is schaduwrijk en nodigt uit om lekker te luieren. Er zijn veel mooie uitstapjes te maken in de omgeving. En daarna is het nog heerlijk relaxen op het strand, dat op een kwartiertje rijden van het huis ligt. Al met al een absolute aanrader om dit huis te boeken.

We hebben een weekje samen van de rust genoten in Sorède. Het huis was wat ons betreft aangenaam volledig ingericht. We hebben elke dag gewoon daar gekookt en gegeten. De boodschappen daarvoor gedaan in de supermarkt van st André. Eten kon heerlijk buiten in de tuin waar je comfortabel en privé kon zitten. S’ochtends met ontbijt en koffie. S’middags heerlijk luieren in de ligstoelen en s’avonds weer buiten eten. Een of twee keer moeten overslaan ivm een behoorlijke bui en stormachtig weer. Maar dat waaide letterlijk over. De inhoud van de boekenkast kon ons in de tussentijd zeer bekoren! We hebben natuurlijk ook de omgeving verkend en daar valt heel veel te zien en te genieten! Wij houden van rust en natuur. Dat is zeker te vinden naast allerlei vertier in leuke dorpjes en stranden. Voor ieder wat wils!
Nog één aanrader om daar optimaal buiten te kunnen genieten.. Ga er niet heen zonder anti-muggenspul! Is echt nodig, zélfs voor mensen die er ‘nooit’ last van hebben. Meteen bij aankomst herinnerden de muggen ons eraan dat we dát waren vergeten. Verder alleen maar genoten en voor herhaling vatbaar!Charlotte Rutten from Eijsden,
We hebben twee weken genoten van dit huis en de prachtige omgeving. Pluspunten vonden wij vooral dat het huis heel compleet is ingericht, ruim, schoon, goede bedden en ja de boekenkast was wel extra. De ligging is heel centraal. Je bent op korte afstand van eigenlijk alles: het dorpje Sorède op loopafstand, de zee een kwartiertje rijden. Dan de leuke plaatsen zoals Collioure, Banyuls, je bent er zo. Vanuit huis kun je de bergen zien, maar ook wandelingen maken (La vallée heureuse bijv.). Toen wij er waren was het heel warm, maar een ventilator in het huis bood uitkomst. En ja de woning ligt aan een nogal drukke weg. Maar in de ochtend deden wij het slaapkamerraam dicht en dan was dat ook weer opgelost. Goede communicatie met de eigenaar. Al met al een leuke vakantie in het uiterste zuiden van Frankrijk!
Restaurants, food & wine
Around the lively village square, Place de la Liberation, there is a café with a terrace, a pizzeria and three good restaurants. The Place des Combes hosts a market once or twice a week. Rue du Centre sells local wines at very reasonable prices, from table wine to fine village wines.
Colliore and Banyuls, two particularly beautiful villages in the area, are known for their excellent wines, which you can often taste and buy on the spot.

Sorede lies at the foot of the Alberes, the eastern spur of the Pyrenees, where you can make beautiful hikes, but also mountain biking and horse riding.
Sorede has two tennis courts and a swimming pool.
The Mediterranean Sea with its crystal clear water is 10 minutes away by car and offers excellent opportunities for diving and water sports.
The kilometres long beaches of Argeles sur Mer are 5 kilometres from Sorede, the beautiful bays of Collioure and Banyuls about 8 and 12 kilometres.
St Cyprien lies to the north of Argeles and also has kilometres of sandy beaches and a beautiful golf course with 27 holes. St Cyprien is a 15 minute drive away.
One and a half hours by car to the west, you are deep in the Pyrenees, with mountain peaks of about 3000 metres, a beautiful environment for mountain sports and mountain walks.
In the winter, there are excellent winter sports possibilities here.
A visit to Spain is very easy to do. Within an hour you can reach the historic city of Girona from Sorede, or Figueres, where you can enjoy shopping or visit the museum of Salvator Dali.
Barcelona can also be reached by car or train within two hours.
