The house
You are a guest at Le Moulin de Lande, a recognised tourism company. The very spacious gîte is located in a 15th century entirely restored water mill "en pierre" (stone walls) with large terraces. In the holiday home you will find a large living room with a practical open kitchen and 2 very spacious bedrooms with good beds. In the summer this holiday house has pleasantly cool rooms, for the cooler months of the year it is equipped with central heating. There is a modern, partly renovated bathroom with toilet, sink and shower in bedroom 1. In front of the Gîte du Moulin is a large terrace with a large BBQ. From the elevated terrace you have a view of the river. In front of your cottage, between the terrace and the river, you will find a large lawn. Upon arrival, the beds have already been made for you. If you stay two weeks or longer with us, you will receive, if desired, clean bed linen every week. A wireless internet connection (wifi) is available in your cottage and around the pool. In 2011 the gîte has been rebuilt and renovated with conservation of the authentic elements: natural stone walls and a beautiful vault in the bedroom. The Gîte du Moulin is spacious enough for 5 people. An extra bed can be placed in one of the bedrooms, against a small surcharge.

Le Moulin de Lande is located in a beautiful valley, close to the medieval town of Largentière and the characteristic village of Chassiers. The domain with a total of 4 gîtes, is situated on the banks of the small river "Lande" amidst forests and vineyards in a protected nature reserve the regional park les Monts d' Ardèche. The river has a private sandy beach for our guests. Quiet and in the middle of nature, but also very central and a short distance from all the sights of the Ardèche. On the 1.25-hectare estate you will find our own vineyard, a heated swimming pool (5x12) with parasols and sun loungers. The pool is enclosed by a fence. There is a private sandy beach on the little river Lande. You can swim, fish, boat and build dams in the river. Or relax on one of the sun loungers on the beach. For the little ones, there is a playground with swings, sandpit and climbing apparatus, nicely located next to the vineyard. By the river is a partly covered terrace with a wood-fired pizza oven where you can bake your own pizzas. We have already laid out the wood for you. You can also play table tennis on this lovely terrace. We are quiet and in the middle of nature, yet the many attractions of the Ardèche can be reached within 15-30 minutes. Visit one of the many medieval towns such as Largentière, Vinezac or Balazuc. Go shopping in Aubenas. Eat out in one of the many restaurants: there are several within a short distance of the property. Visit the Ardèche Gorges with the famous Pont d'Arc or the extinct volcanoes in the northern Ardèche. Relax at one of the many waterfalls such as the Ray Pic. Listen to the silence on the central plateau. You can also visit the castle of Voguë, Largentière or Montréal, one of the famous caves like the Aven d'Orgnac or the Cocalière or the famous pont du Gard. A visit to the famous Grotte Chauvet 2 is a must for young and old alike. From le Moulin de Lande, larger cities such as Valence, Montélimar, Nîmes, Orange and Avignon are easy to visit. The Ardeche is known for its lively day and evening markets. There are regular concerts and festivals in the summer months.

Wij werden hartelijk ontvangen door Christel en Rob en werden rondgeleid over het domein. Een zeer mooie rustige plek in de Ardèche nabij het plaatsje Chassiers. Als je rust en stilte zoekt dan ben je hier op het goede adres. Het domein is een oude watermolen met authentieke details en ademend een franse sfeer uit. Zo ook de beschikbare gites. Wij hebben de eerste week doorgebracht in Gite du Moulin. Een ruime gite met een prachtig bordes en uitzicht op de stromende beek en veel privacy. De gite is van alle gemakken voorzien en nieuwe bedden. Rob en Christel zijn vriendelijke beheerders en wonen ook op het domein zodat ze altijd aanspreekbaar zijn en informatie kunnen geven over de omgeving. Er is ook een lekker zwembad op het domein waar je geen handdoekje hoeft te leggen want er zijn maar vier gites. Het beviel ons zo goed dat wij nog een week verlengd hebben en verbleven de tweede week in de gite Bergerie. Deze gites is wat kleiner maar heeft ook dezelfde franse sfeer en naast een terras buiten ook nog een dakterras. Er is veel te zien in de nabije omgeving met hele leuke plaatsjes.

Een klein paradijsje. Hier kom je gelijk in vakantiestemming. Gite du Moulin is niet luxe, maar wel heel ruim, heeft veel privacy en bevat alles wat je nodig hebt voor een fijne vakantie. Het domein is groot en groen. Met slechts 4 huisjes, heb je vaak het zwembad of het riviertje met strandje voor je alleen. Tegelijk vinden de kinderen elkaar en vervelen ze zich geen moment met zwemmen, dammetjes bouwen, visjes vangen en verstoppertje spelen.
Het domein bevindt zich in het rustiger deel van de Ardèche, zo’n 45 minuten rijden van het toeristischer Pont d’Arc. Houd er rekening mee dat veel activiteiten (zoals klimmen en kanoën) zich op zo’n 30 minuten rijden bevinden. Wel veel leuke stadjes/ dorpjes in de buurt (15 minuten rijden) om te winkelen en te eten.
Mooi gebied voor wielrenners. Helaas hebben wij vanwege de hitte niet veel wandelpaden kunnen testen, maar die zijn er volop. Ook kun je er prima hardlopen.

We hebben 2 fantastische weken gehad bij Theo en Celeste in gite Le Moulin! Bijzonder geschikt voor kleine kinderen. Een prachtige sfeervolle gite met mooi terras (incl BBQ) en grote tuin met aan de rand een beekje. Het terrein met wijngaard een privestrandje en een houtoven om zelf pizza's in te bakken die je dan op een mooi terras met uitzicht op het beekje kunt opeten is erg mooi en groot. Het is in werkelijkheid nog mooier dan op de foto's. Het kindvriendelijke zwembad omheind door een hek is prachtig! Ook de privacy die je hebt in en om de gite is heel prettig. Echt een plek om tot rust te komen en te genieten van de mooie natuur.
Van de mogelijkheid om dagelijks vers brood en croissants te bestellen die 's ochtends aan de deur vd gite worden gehangen hebben we graag gebruik van gemaakt. Een echte aanrader, heerlijk! Theo was altijd bereid om goede tips te geven over onder meer uitstapjes en wandelingen in de buurt. Kortom, een fantastische plek voor een heerlijke vakantie!
Restaurants, food & wine
You can go to one of the nearby villages for fresh baguettes. We offer a bread delivery service on Sundays. You should definitely taste the wines from the vignes of "Le Moulin de Lande". You can bake your own pizzas in our original wood-fired pizza oven by the river. We have the wood ready for you. In the vicinity are numerous restaurants: eat, for example, on one of the cosy terraces of Largentiere or under the plane trees in Ailton! On the many (evening) markets in the surrounding villages and towns you will find (h)honest (organic) products from the region. The Ardèche is famous for its chestnuts, honey, nougat, wines and cheeses.
Activities
Do nothing! Come to the region where you can still enjoy peace and quiet. Where the endless starry sky is the only light at night, where time has stood still in medieval villages and towns like Vinezac, Balazuc or Largentière. Stroll through one of the many markets, visit a castle or one of the famous caves. Of course, canoeing on the Ardèche is a must. Explore the surroundings, take a dip in the pool or sunbathe on our private beach by the river. Le Moulin de Lande is a wonderful starting point for cycling and mountain biking trips. Walkers can also enjoy themselves around the domain and in the Ardèche. Walks and cycle routes start at the front door. Spring starts early: if you are not bound by the school holidays, come during April, May or June and enjoy the good things le Moulin de Lande and the Ardèche have to offer in all tranquillity. Children will find a site full of opportunities for discovery and play: scrambling, running, fishing, building dams or boating on the little river de Lande that runs along the entire domain. And from 2026, the swimming pool will be heated!

You are dealing with an official company. We have been the new Dutch owners since 2025. Hospitality is in our blood and we will welcome you with pleasure and enthusiasm. It is a beautiful domain. The many positive reviews speak for themselves.
Each cottage has a kitchen and on the terrace its own barbecue, so you can take care of everything yourself from breakfast to dinner.
You stay in a beautiful location with lots of space, in the middle of nature. There are only four holiday homes on a plot of more than a hectare so everyone has plenty of privacy and plenty of space. You will have a wonderful holiday here.
The Ardèche is a sparsely populated region with a rural character. There are excursions, walks, bicycle rides and car rides possible where you will meet few, if any, other people.
At no extra cost, we can place a baby bed, high chair, baby bath, changing mat, toilet seat and/or potty in your cottage if you wish. If you mention this when booking, we will make sure it is ready. Dutch-speaking childcare or babysitting can be arranged.
On our domain we have 4 gîtes, so you have the choice if your desired gîte is occupied or if you want to come with a larger number of people.

A rental week is from Saturday 16:00 to Saturday 10:00. If you want to come outside the high season for a different period, please contact us.
