The house

  • Quiet, built-up area

Want to unwind or be active? In and from Villa Mimosa you can do it all!
You can relax on the covered terrace or in the sunny swimming pool and there is plenty to do in the area.

Villa Mimosa is a beautiful spacious villa on the edge of the medieval village of Joyeuse in the Ardèche. The villa owes its name to the Mimosa trees at the edge of the surrounding garden, which bloom beautifully in early spring. The villa is part of a small domain built against the terraced southern slope of a hill, where there used to be a vineyard.
From the villa and in the garden, you have beautiful views over Joyeuse and the surrounding hills.
Villa Mimosa has specific southern French elements, such as painted shutters, covered terraces and a roof of Romanesque tiles.
The villa is cosily furnished and fully equipped. You can park under the carport, or directly in front of the house by driving down the short driveway.

Upon entering, you enter a spacious hall with toilet, storage cupboard with washing machine and stairs to the upper floor. From the hall you enter the dining room, which is adjacent to a fully equipped open-plan kitchen. Also on this level are two bedrooms, opening onto a covered terrace, and a bathroom with shower, bathtub and toilet. Stairs lead down into the cosy living room, which has direct access to a spacious terrace, the garden and the swimming pool. On the terrace you can enjoy the sun, or unwind in the shade of the pergola.
In between, you can cool down in the sunny pool.
Upstairs are two bedrooms, opening onto a spacious covered terrace, and a second bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet.
Both downstairs and upstairs are a bedroom with a double bed and a bedroom with two single beds. So there are eight sleeping places.

While it's hot outside, the temperature inside stays nice and cool.
If the weather is bad for once, there is plenty of room inside to
enjoy all the comforts the house has to offer.

The villa is on the outskirts of the village of Joyeuse. That means you can walk to the village.
If you walk down into the village, you can also turn left at some point, to the river La Baume. This is especially fun for children.
The village has a large Carrefour, but there are also small shops, terraces and restaurants.
From downstairs, you can walk up the stairs behind the rampart, to the old, beautiful centre.

Restaurants, food & wine

There are several nice terraces, good restaurants and wine cellars in the area.

Activities

The southern French region of Ardeche is especially popular for its sunny and warm weather in summer and its breathtaking nature. There is a lot to do in Ardeche, such as cycling, hiking, golfing, fishing, swimming, mountain climbing, rafting, kayaking and canoeing. The Ardèche has many places of interest. You can visit caves, churches, wine cellars, medieval villages and castles.
The area around Ardeche also has old Roman cities, such as Orange, Avignon and Nîmes. Nature in Ardeche is magnificent and has a lot to offer.
You will find lakes, pebble beaches, rivers, caves and forests. Famous are the Gorges de l'Ardèche, a natural, kilometre-long deep gorge, with many rapids and an impressive natural arch, the Pont d'Arc. A canoe trip through the Gorges de l'Ardèche is an absolute must!
