The house
The house is spacious, cosy, practical and comfortably furnished. From the terrace, where you can relax from early morning until late at night, you have stunning views. Outside in the spacious garden is a swimming pool. (5 m x 3m and 1.20 deep).
The closest neighbours are at least 100 metres away.
The house has a spacious lounge (50 m2) and a large living room with kitchen and fireplace (35 m2). There are also 8 bedrooms, two bathrooms and 2 toilets. The house has central heating.
There is a washing machine, iron, high chair, cot, playpen and children's bath. The kitchen has a fridge-freezer, coffee machine, dolce gusto machine, pressure cooker, dishwasher, food processor, sandwich maker and oven.
There is also a TV with DVD player and dozens of DVDs and a Wii. The bookcase has a large collection of books. Furthermore, games and puzzles are available.
In the basement is a games room with pool table, table tennis and darts. There is WiFi in and around the house.

The house "Côte de Deze" is located in St. Etienne de Maurs, right next to the village of Maurs. The village is also called Maurs de la Jolie, the Nice of the Cantal. It is an authentic French village with a lot of cosiness and not much tourism. The village is located in the Cantal, the southernmost tip of the Auvergne.
The microclimate gives beautiful summers. Also in the early and late season it is lovely on the terrace and in the garden. The house is situated outside the village on a hill with a beautiful view of the village and vistas to all sides. The (walking) distance to the centre of the village is 10 minutes. Supermarket at 5 minutes walk.
The surroundings are green and hilly. Nature is very varied and the Cantal is adjacent to the fantastic volcanic area. So wonderful opportunities for touring, cycling and many hiking trails. Beautiful are the winding roads along the Lot, the brooks, rivers and streams.
The village itself is fully equipped (banks, bakeries, butchers, drugstores, supermarkets, restaurants etc).

Een echte aanrader…
Het vakantiehuis op “Cote de Dêze” nr. 14 is een bijzonder ruim en schoon huis en wat van alle gemakken is voorzien. De badkamer is recent vernieuwd.
Wat een luxe, ontbijten op het heerlijk grote balkon met prachtig uitzicht op het dorpje Maurs en de wijde omgeving. Maurs, waar je vers brood kunt halen en de supermarkt op loopafstand is. Het zwembadje zorgt op warme dagen voor aangename verkoeling.
Mooie uitstapjes zijn er in de omgeving zoals naar Rocamadour, Figeac en de prachtige meren. En niet te vergeten de fraaie wandelroutes.

Wat een heerlijk huis! De kinderen hebben genoten van het zwembad in de tuin, van de pooltafel, de voetbaltafel en de tafeltennistafel. Alles was schoon en ruim. Met ons gezin (vier kinderen) hebben we de bovenverdieping helemaal niet gebruikt; aan de begane grond hadden we genoeg. Genoeg mooie uitstapjes te maken, maar we zijn ook dagen bij het huis gebleven om rustig vakantie te houden. Heerlijke tijd gehad.

Een heerlijk, ruim en schoon huis wat van alle gemakken voorzien is. Het zwembad is klein, maar heerlijk voor de verkoeling. Kanoën op de Lot, Rocamadour, Figeac, brood halen in het dorpje en de meren zijn leuke uitstapjes waar we erg van hebben genoten.
Restaurants, food & wine
The village of Maurs has several restaurants where you can eat well. In De Bascule you sit at the table with the locals, very cosy, a good kitchen and for a small price. Down the road Hélene has her restaurant "Cruzel": definitely worth a visit. The take-away pizzaria has delicious dishes. On Thursday is the local market with a wide variety of local products. The tourist office on the village square has a list of all the markets in the area. The route de Fromage leads you along and a number of small cheese factories where you can taste. Also the Foie Gras is known there of course. The local dish is Tripoux.
The brocantes or car boot sales are definitely a must. (Info at the Tourist Office in the centre)
Activities
Besides the activities in and around the house, there is plenty to do in the area. A beautiful child-friendly lake is 15 minutes away. The village has a beautiful swimming pool. There is also the possibility of rafting, fishing, cycling, hiking, canoeing, golf, karting etc.
Furthermore, the Route de Crêtes is recommended, the Pui Marie can be climbed, there is a route along cheese factories (route de Fromage), the castles route. Rocamadour is a beautiful sight not to be missed, in the vicinity is a (robber) bird park and amusement park.
Of course, a visit to one of the caves should not be missed. Beautiful villages are a.o. Saint Cirque de la Poupi, Montirac, Conques, Salers, Saint Cére.

Further remarks
The prices in the table are based on 5 persons. For more persons a surcharge of € 50,= per person per week applies. Cleaning costs are € 75,= per stay.
We charge € 100,= deposit. This amount will be refunded after departure, after a check by the contact person. It is the intention that you leave the house tidy. Unforeseen inconveniences can be reported to the landlord.
