Surroundings
The estate is a 15-minute drive from the autoroute du soleil (Bollene exit), is surrounded by vineyards and truffiers and overlooks Mont Ventoux and Dentelles de Montmirail. Very occasionally one works in the vineyards but otherwise one enjoys the peace, fauna and flora and the beautiful sunsets the region offers. All around you can cycle to the smaller villages or for the courageous among us you can head for Mont Ventoux before dawn (45min drive by car) and take up the challenge there (3 times up and down by bike?:-))

De Bruyn from Tremelo,

Restaurants, food & wine
For lovers of French gastronomy, there are plenty of things to discover at local markets. Think Picodon goat cheese, artichokes, a delicious homemade ratatouille, nougat from Montélimar and, apart from an abundance of fruit (apricots, cherries, strawberries, melons...), Nyons' olives. Of course, don't forget the black gold: the truffles of Tricastin with France's largest truffle market in Richerenches - every Saturday morning in season (December to March).
Last but not least, this region is undoubtedly a top spot for wine lovers: vineyards are ubiquitous in the region. The most well-known AOCs are the Côtes-du-Rhône, the Côtes du Ventoux and the AOC Grignan-lès-Adhemar. Around us alone, we have four Grands Crus from Haut Vaucluse - Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Cairanne and Rasteau - and one Grand Cru from the Drôme Provençale itself - Vinsobres.
Activities
Near Domaine les Jonchiers you will find plenty of atmospheric local markets where you can taste typical local products. The best shop is the local market and every village nearby has its own market day.
Nature lovers, hikers and cyclists are treated to beautiful landscapes and vistas with lavender, olive and vineyards, the "villages perchées" and the typical hills of the Barronies. The Camargue and the Calanques are also within driving distance, as are Pont-du-Gard and canoeing/kayaking down the Gardon and Ardeche rivers. Canyoning around Mont Ventoux, a high ropes course and a brisk walk in the "Dentelles de Montmirail" are there for those who like things just a little more adventurous.
Culturally, one can visit numerous castles, fortresses, museums and historical heritage both in the cities and in the smaller villages less than half an hour's drive from the domain (Nyons, Vaison-la-Romaine). Larger cities are also easily accessible - such as Avignon (45 minutes), Marseille and Nîmes (1 hour). We have plenty more tips and will be happy to help you plan your activities in this region.
- Bicycle
- Near hiking trails
- Near ATB trails
- Flying and gliding
