The house
This village house is located in the village of Valdrôme, about half an hour's drive from Die. You have beautiful unobstructed views of the surrounding mountain landscape. The house of a Dutch owner is located on the outskirts of the village. Valdrôme is an attractive, authentic village, with narrow streets and particularly popular with walkers and those seeking peace and quiet. The Drôme River flows 200 metres from the house and has its source here, suitable for children and dogs.
Valdrôme is located in the hilly Drôme at the foot of the Haute-Alpes. The village has a restaurant with terrace just 5 minutes' walk away. In spring and high season, there are opportunities for mountain karting, mini-golf, escalade, paragliding, fishing, mountain biking, hiking and enjoying the magnificent views over the Drôme valley.
Characteristic village house (116 m2, 3 floors) with three sunny and shady terraces and a balcony. From the house, located on the outskirts of the village, you have beautiful, unobstructed views of the surrounding mountain landscape.
Property layout:
Entrance at street level, cosy living room (24m2) with ( extra) double bed corner sofa and dining area. Kitchen (14m2) with dining table , modern appliances: oven, ceramic hob/etc. The house has 2 showers, 3 wc`s and an outdoor shower.
Mezzanine (5/6 steps down): bedroom (25 m²) with double bed and 2 single beds. Shower, washbasin and WC
Ground floor: room (20 m²) with two single beds, one of which is a half-high sleeper. Open connection with room with washbasin and WC. Door to terrace.
The bedrooms have a separate entrance, outside via a covered staircase attached to the house.
Present: washing machine,TV (dish, not all Ned. channels)/DVD player, radio/CD players and barbecue. etc.. No Wifi.
Balcony (7m2), enclosed terrace (10m2) connected by stairs to two other (secured for small children) terraces (60 and 30 m2) with outdoor shower and barbecue.
Please note: because of the several stairs, the house is less suitable for people with mobility problems.

Valdrôme is situated in the hilly Drôme at the foot of the Haute-Alpes. In the village is a restaurant with terrace at only 5 minutes walking distance. In the early and high season, there are possibilities for mountain carting, midget golf, escalade, paragliding, fishing, mountain biking, hiking and enjoying the beautiful view over the Drôme valley.
Valdrôme is the centre of numerous (from easy to average) marked walking routes (randonnées). Walking maps are available in the house. There are several routes for mountain bikers. Tennis and archery are possible in the village, where there is a restaurant/terrace at 5 min. walking distance from the house. Club Associative organise theatre, live music evenings and festival. Swimming/fishing is possible at several places in the river Drôme (at 5 km). There is a swimming pool at 15 km and a mountain lake, le Claps (at 10 km.see photo) with a restaurant and picnic tables. A fishing lake is at 25 km. Larger shops and tourist information in Luc-en-Diois at 18 km.

Met een groep van vijf personen hebben we een geweldige week beleefd in het huis, en natuurlijk in de geweldige omgeving! Het goed onderhouden en schone huis voldoet aan alles wat je nodig hebt. Met een fles lokale Clairette de Die, een mousserende witte wijn uit de streek, op het terras is een ervaring om niet snel te vergeten! Het is even rijden, maar het is het dubbel en dwars waard! Boek dat huisje!

Prachtig gelegen huis in de bergen in het schilderachtige dorpje Valdrome. De drie (!) terrassen zijn fantastisch, de slaapkamers heerlijk koel en de keuken van alle gemakken voorzien. In de omgeving kun je heerlijk wandelen, ons absolute hoogtepunt was het beklimmen van de Tete de lion. Ook de dorpjes en stadjes in de omgeving zijn prachtig, en de marktjes vol met heerlijke streekproducten. Echt een aanrader voor een heerlijke vakantie waar je helemaal zen wordt!

Wat een schitterende tijd hebben we gehad in dit fijne huisje in Valdrome. Met vier volwassenen en twee kinderen van 4 en 7 hebben we echt een leuke vakantie gehad. Het huisje is van alle gemakken voorzien. De keuken is eenvoudig maar vooral gezellig want je kunt er ook lekker met z'n allen zitten eten, alhoewel we ook vaak buiten op het terras en in de tuin hebben gegeten. De slaapkamers zijn ruim en er is een douche en toilet op de slaapkamers wat heerlijk is.
Maar het allermooiste zijn toch de mogelijkheden in de omgeving. We hebben hele mooie wandelingen met de kinderen in de bergen gemaakt, met fossielen, wilde orchideeën, wilde tijm, geiten en lavendelvelden. Je kunt de wandelingen gewoon beginnen vanuit de voordeur, echt super! Zonder kinderen hebben mijn vriendin en ik zelfs ook nog wel serieus pittige bergtochten gemaakt. Mooi hoor.
Ook bezoekjes aan de stadjes Die en Nyons waren fijn lekker koffie op sfeervolle terassen en mooie markten met regionale producten als olijven, wijnen, kazen, lavendel en noem maar op.

In Luc en Diois (15 min. drive) restaurants/terraces, supermarket, bank, swimming pool, tabac with Ned. newspapers, Tourist Information, historical city walk and market on Friday morning.
Wifi possible in Valdrôme and in Luc-en-Diois. (At Tourist Information and the Bar/Restaurant opposite, place de la Fontaine).
Les Près at 3 km. where you can enjoy a Table de Paysanne with Pierrot and Martine.
Monday to Sunday there are markets in the region (also bio/antique/brocante).
Wednesday and Saturday morning there is a market in Die that is very worthwhile. Die is an old interesting city with many shops, restaurants, terraces. Location near the plateau of the Vercors, a protected nature reserve and an excellent attraction for birdwatchers and hikers.
Swimming / fishing is possible in the Drôme, in Luc en Diois is a swimming pool.
"Le Claps" mountain lake (10 min. drive) and small waterfalls between Valdrôme and Luc en Diois. Canoeing is possible from Luc en Diois.
