The chalet is located at 600 m in a quiet, rural area. Sitting on the south-facing terrace or in the shade of the cedar tree in the private garden, you can enjoy peace, space and a magnificent view of the Vercors (plateau). Here you can still experience silence, hear the birds sing, see beautiful sunsets and the most beautiful starry skies (because it is still really dark here).
The chalet is located 7 km from the village Roybon where you will find everything you need: supermarket selling local products and bread, pharmacy, doctor, garage, tobacco and newspaper shop, cafe, restaurant, hairdresser (in the chalet there is a folder with all practical information).
At 15 minutes from St Marcellin (larger town), near the Drôme. At 26 km from Grenoble airport and at 44 km from Valence TGV station.

Restaurants, food & wine

In this region, you can enjoy regional dishes and specialities such as the famous gratin dauphinois, walnuts and delicious products based on walnuts, walnut oil, the delicious cheese St Marcellin, ravioles (pastry cushions with fresh cheese and parsley), caillettes, pogne de Romans, game (there is a lot of hunting in the area), mushrooms (there are many in this region), the spicy liqueur La Chartreuse and many other delicacies.

Activities

There is something for everyone, both nature and culture lovers.
The surrounding hilly landscape and the forest are ideal for long or short walks on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback, along numerous marked trails, including a section of the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. You can explore the wide surroundings directly from the grounds.
Furthermore, you can: swim, fish or pedal boat in the lake of Roybon, go tree climbing, skiing and cross country skiing in the Vercors (at a short distance).
Or make various trips and discover all kinds of sights, such as, for example, the beautiful medieval village of Saint Antoine l'Abbaye, one of the most beautiful in France.

In the summer there is a wide choice of festivities (with flea markets, demonstrations of old crafts, village festivals), theatre performances (festival Textes en l'air) and concerts from jazz (festival Jazz à Vienne) to classical (festival Berlioz).

Don't feel like going out for a day? Take a comfortable chair or a deckchair and enjoy the beautiful views, birdsong, sunsets and starry skies on your own terrace or in one of the garden corners.

But of course you can also grab a book from the library or... just laze about.
You have already understood: it is wonderfully quiet here, except for the occasional tractor, so it is ideal to relax and unwind, far from noise, stress and exhaust fumes.

And you can enjoy the numerous local dishes in the various restaurants.

In the chalet there is extensive documentation on everything there is to do in the surrounding area. And I am always available to give you all the information and tips to make your holiday as successful as possible.
