The house
Our nature holiday villa is in a rural location in the Pays des Combrailles region of the Auvergne and is delightfully quiet with all luxury amenities. Within a day's reach and only 830 km from Utrecht. The house is completely detached and consists of an L-shaped living room with open kitchen and 2 sliding doors to the large terrace with private pool. From the terrace you have beautiful views over the countryside. In the large open-plan kitchen you will find a dishwasher, American fridge with freezer, convection oven, microwave and 4-burner gas hob. Next to the house is the swimming pool (4.5 x 9m) and a covered terrace with outdoor table. The lounge has a smart TV with Netflix connection. The bathroom comprises a spacious walk-in shower, whirlpool bath and washing machine and there is a separate toilet. On the top floor are 2 spacious bedrooms with 180 x 200cm beds, an extra toilet, sink in the first room and a second lounge area on the large loft with 130 x 190cm sofa bed suitable for 2 children up to 12 years old.

The house is on a dead-end road with unobstructed views over the fields at the front and at the back the house faces the edge of the woods. Montingeat falls under a tiny hamlet 5 minutes away from Montaigut and Combrailles. The house is very private and quiet. The first bakery can be found 5 min away and shops can be reached within 10 min.

Restaurants, food & wine
Every day you can go to a local market somewhere to get local produce. In the summer months, you can eat outside on the covered terrace. There is no BBQ, but a grill is available for outside. In the immediate vicinity you will find many nice restaurants, where it is best to eat a daily menu at noon like the French are used to. In the evening, you can go to the village of Néris les Bains (15 mn) where you can eat delicious 'Truffade' at the Brasserie. The wine region near Saint Pourçain sur Sioule can be reached within 45 min, which is the oldest wine region in France. On Saturday mornings you have a nice market in St Pourcain and we have tips for driving to vineyards via a scenic route.
Activities
Besides lazing around by the pool in the summer months, there are many activities to do in the vicinity: many walks, vtt and cycling routes have already been set out. The house is at the edge of the woods on a footpath, so you can easily go out by mountain bike or on foot. You can also take a nice trip in a kayak or canoe in the Gorges de la Sioule. You can also rent a vélorail (a bicycle combination for the old railway line) from the village of Lapeyrouse to St Eloy les Mines. But beautiful sports bikes can also be rented in the village of Louroux de Bouble from Velo à la Campagne. Within 20 minutes, there is a tree-climbing park at Echassières. You can go to the crater lake of Gour de Tazenat, which also has a nice walk around it. In the village of Neris les Bains (15 min) you have a wonderful Wellness / Spa Centre, many restaurants and a beautiful 18-hole golf course. Also worth visiting are the towns of Vichy, Montlucon and Clermont Ferrand and you can take the new train to the top of the Volcano, the Puy de Dôme (1465m). A scenic route to the village of Charroux belongs to one of France's Plux Beaux Villages.

We ourselves live around the corner on B&B estate Château la Perche and are always available for questions.
A reservation is definite after receipt of 50% of the total rent. The deposit is 300,00 euro and can be paid on arrival.
Compulsory cleaning: 80.00 euro (this includes linen). Upon arrival, the beds are made for you and adapted to the season.
During the winter months or in cooler seasons when the fireplace or central heating is in use, we charge a supplement for the use of
of firewood at 5 euros per box. (50 euros per cubic metre). Electricity consumption will be charged separately at 0.30 € / kwh
