The house
ARTISTIC detached renovated house 7 km. from the sea in southern Brittany. . IN the last weekend of August, the pardon of Sainte Anne la Palud takes place. The weather is practically always beautiful then.
It is a house on basement.In the basement there is the garage, washing machine, clothes rack and storage of wood and granules; garden chairs; deckchair and barbecue.
A staircase leads to the living floor and a large south-facing terrace.
Upstairs are the living and dining room. The living room has a large wood-burning stove. There is a well-stocked bookcase as well as a stereo system with radio, CD and cassette deck. In addition to two easy chairs, there is a spacious sofa with lots of cushions.
The sliding doors open out onto a 4 x 3.50 m terrace facing south, from where there are beautiful views of the Locronan hills.
In front of the terrace there is a table plus bench and chairs.
In the dining room there is a large dining table and a built-in cupboard with stained-glass doors.
The upstairs bedroom has a double bed and large linen closet (also ironing board and iron available). This room overlooks the back garden with a grove of metre-high hydrangeas.
Opposite the bedroom is the bathroom with walk-in shower, washbasin and electric towel dryer. There is a beautiful tiled floor and a stained-glass door.
The separate toilet is located opposite the bedroom.
Upstairs is a large bedroom with two single beds of 200x90 cm each. Also present: a sitting area with two chairs, wardrobe and table.

The cheerful and cosy kitchen has recently been renovated, as have the corridor and the toilet. There is a granular stove in the kitchen. The kitchen has a wooden sink, two large porcelain sinks. Furthermore, there is the fridge with separate freezer compartment; microwave oven; gas cooker with 4 burners and oven; extractor hood; coffee maker. The kitchen equipment is very complete, even the cheese slicer is not missing. There is also a marble table with stool and chair in the kitchen by the window.
The front garden was completely refurbished several years ago with a lawn and many flowering plants. There is sun and shade everywhere until the evening hours.

Een heerlijk huis en alles wat je nodig hebt, is aanwezig. De inrichting is huiselijk, artistiek en warm, vooral de keuken. Vanaf het terras een mooi uitzicht op de tuin en de omgeving. De boekenkast bevat voornamelijk thrillers en veel klassieke Cd's. De afmeting van het 2 persoons bed was weer even wennen, maar het harde matras was heerlijk om op te slapen. Qua ligging kan je alle kanten op, om het mooie Bretagne te ontdekken. Het strand is een aanrader, zeker als je van rust houdt. Alleen bij eb is het water een stuk lopen. We hebben genoten van deze plek.

We voelden ons erg thuis in dit huis en genoten van de mooie, kleurrijke en persoonlijke inrichting. Het glas-in-lood, de mozaïek en de betegeling in badkamer/wc was een waar genot om naar te kijken. Op het terras was het genieten van het gezang van de vogels, de wind in de bomen en het uitzicht over de korenvelden. Het huis bleek een prima startpunt voor allerlei uitjes naar mooie plaatsen en leuke strandjes. De sfeer deed mij denken aan mijn eerste bezoeken aan Bretagne, in de jaren ‘70 en ‘80: geen massa’s mensen en een ontspannen vriendelijke sfeer. De fietstochten in de omgeving waren heerlijk: ‘s avonds nog even op de fiets naar Locronan of afdalen naar het strandje van Sainte Anne la Palud om er te genieten van de zonsondergang. Mooie herinneringen. Heel fijn om via mail snel alles te regelen met de eigenaresse en ter plekke persoonlijk rondgeleid te worden door de contactpersoon en het verblijf ook persoonlijk af te sluiten, in plaats van ergens een sleutel in een brievenbus te droppen.

Eind augustus en 2 weken prachtig weer in Bretagne.
Dit huis is prettig, rustig en gezellig. Uniek door de mooie glas en lood ramen en de mozaïek gemaakt door de eigenaresse. De contacten met haar voorafgaand en tijdens onze vakantie waren heel prettig. We voelden ons hier thuis in een prachtige omgeving, waar toerisme nog niet de boventoon voert. We komen heel graag terug.

Activities
From the beaches of Ty Anquer Plage and Sainte Anne la Palud, you will find the so-called 'Randonnees', walking paths that follow the coastline and offer spectacular views. On Ty Anquer beach, you can go sand yachting with my neighbour's son.
In Plomodiern, a Fest Deiz is organised every Sunday in July and August, a day party with live music and Breton dances, where young and old can dance along. There is a cosy market where you can buy local delicacies.
In the summer months, there are pardons in villages and towns, festivals in honour of a saint, often with processions in traditional costume.
The largest is the Pardon of Sainte Anne la Palud in the last weekend of August. Not to be missed! Torchlight procession through the dunes on Saturday and Sunday, the big procession in honour of Sainte Anne, the patron saint of Bretons.
