The house
At Les Petites Voisines on a mini farm, you have a nice atmospheric country-style gite in an old rectory dating back to about the 17th century; adapted and modernised while preserving authentic details, into a simple and pleasant house with a private garden. You have WIFI and a smart TV with Netflix and Youtube. The living room has a fine wood-burning stove (wood is included), there is air conditioning in three rooms and electric heating in the remaining rooms for cold days. The house is suitable for 8 people. You have French doors to the garden from the living room; in the garden there is a table and benches, as well as chairs. The house has a pleasant temperature, even when it is very hot it stays around 20 degrees. There are three bedrooms, a kitchen, and a spacious dining/living room, bathroom with shower and sink and a separate WC. The plumbing is downstairs. One bedroom is downstairs, the other two bedrooms are on the first floor. You have your own garden furniture and outside dining table and chairs. You can also use our adjoining grounds of about one hectare with small pool, trampoline, chairs and picnic table, which is shared with other guests. Not fancy or sleek but rural cosy and pleasant. Farm campsite and chateau Les petites voisines is a family-run accommodation with rooms in our chateau de Saint Vitte, a gite and a mini campsite with swimming pool on our private land in the countryside. The whole place is in central France, in the Cher department on the border of Allier, Auvergne. It is rural and quiet. Our house is a 19th-century chateau (1880) in a small village in the countryside. The region is very beautiful, authentic and there is no mass tourism but plenty to do and see.

Not far from here are the wine farms of Saint Pourçain sur Sioule, among others. There are several wine tastings in the area.
Activities
There is plenty to see and do in this area, especially if you like nature and outdoor activities. But culture is not lacking either. In Vallon en Sully, about ten minutes away, there is a supermarket, all kinds of shops, the bakery, a bar and nice restaurants; you can also rent electric bikes and mountain bikes there. There is a train station where the train goes to Bourges and to Montlucon and further Clermont Ferrand. Nearby is the foret de Tronçais, one of the oldest primeval forests in Europe, where you can hike endlessly, also very suitable for mountain biking. For cyclists, there are wonderful trips to be made, for example along the canal de Berry where there is a cycle path running from Montluçon, past Vallon and Sully all the way to Saint Amand Montrond and beyond. There are also many lovely little roads where cycling is excellent. At 3 km there are horses for hire or you can get riding lessons on site. There are beautiful swimming lakes nearby with various water sports activities. There are also numerous beautiful castles to visit. In summer, there are several festivals and very beautiful spectacles to see. At 15 minutes there is a climbing park Accrobranche with the longest cable car over water in Europe. In Nassigny at 15 km there is a beautiful golf course near a chateau. A little further away is the amusement park and zoo le Pal. Cities in the area are Montlucon, Moulins and Vichy, Clermont Ferrand and Bourges, which is definitely worth a visit. Near Clermont Ferrand there are several amusement parks, not to mention the volcano Puy de Dome which is really an experience.

If you want to experience real peace and quiet, unwind, let your children play safely, stay on a petting farm or in our little castle, this is the place. We have lots of different animals that can be petted, groomed and fed if you want. We have 2 milk goats, three dwarf goats, one dwarf pig, six chickens, one large rabbit, three cats and two dogs. We rent out 2 rooms with shared kitchen in our house, an eight-person individual holiday home, and pitches for tent, caravan and camper on our private property. The whole thing is all simple, small-scale and family-oriented. An ideal place for those who love nature and tranquillity to recharge their batteries or enjoy sports. At Les Petites Voisines, everything is neither super sleek nor chic but cosy and family-like, small-scale and pleasant. Experience the richness of tranquillity and space. We hope to welcome you soon.
