The house
In the heart of Laferté-sur-Amance, a small village in the Haute-Marne region, also known as Champagne-Ardenne, lies our farmhouse, called Château d'Impasse. The large 1882 farmhouse was completely renovated in 2021/2023 in the traditional French style, using original and natural materials. It is an authentic and rustic house, surrounded by green hills and vast fields stretching as far as the eye can see. The views over the valley from the house and terrace are breathtaking.
The ground floor of Château d'Impasse has a cosy, communal spacious living room, where guests can relax. The living room is stylishly furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs, where you can retreat with a good book or for watching a film. Wood-burning stove with optional open fire. Then there is a dining room with an 8-seater table. But you will mainly meet in the large modern kitchen, with round dining table, or by the wood-burning stove. French doors open onto the terrace. The kitchen includes a Boretti oven, coffee maker with fresh beans, frother and dishwasher.
There are four double rooms, each with its own luxurious bathroom. The rooms are furnished with great care and equipped with every comfort. The beds are spacious and comfortable with down or cotton duvets.
Children up to 3 years are extra welcome, 2 cots/camping .dogs by arrangement.

Coiffy le Haut is a 10-minute drive away, a wine village.
Fay Billot is known for its basketry and has a good (Belgian owner) restaurant
Langres, fortified town at 25 minutes. There is also a nice lake there for children's fun.
Bourbonne les Bains has a spa, terraces and a petting zoo .
Melay is a small village with castle a good restaurant.
Dijon is nice for a day trip, beautiful city with half-timbered houses.
Several castles in the area.
Activities
Exercise and relax. You can do both in Laferté-sur-Amance, an authentically quiet French village. It is off the main road, with the church on a hill. The Amance is a small river that runs alongside it. The street, on which our farm Château d'Impasse is located, is a dead end and faces the local chateau.
In the morning, you can walk to the bakery or do the Ronde Chémin in fifteen minutes. This runs around the village. You then experience beautiful views and a medieval water basin.
The area is perfect for cycling, there are several hiking trails, including from our village. In the large garden you can relax under the walnut tree.
Retire with a book on the large but cosy terrace or in the garden under the trees and a view over the valley.
Visit the fortified city of Langres or beautiful Dijon, castles nearby or a small lake for the children.
In some summer weeks there are choir singing or painting workshops with Dutch artists near Château d'Impasse.
