The house
We invite you to a holiday in Normandy, far away from the noise of the roads, in the middle of a natural landscape, with lush meadows, grazing cows and sheep, apple trees and windswept hedges.
A place to "slow down", to "digitally detox", in short, to reduce stress!
Let yourself be surprised by the diversity of Normandy. Numerous sights and sporting activities await you.
The detached stone house, in a romantic secluded location at the foot of a forest, is 3 km from the nearest village, in an area with little tourist development.
Enjoy the enclosed garden with boules court, where the children can play undisturbed and your dog can roam freely while you sunbathe on the south-facing terrace.
On a living space of 105 square metres, there are two bedrooms on the ground floor, a living/dining area with a wood-burning stove and a spacious kitchen.
There is also a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower and a separate WC.
On the first floor there is a second bathroom with bath and shower and a further bedroom with two double beds.
In total there is sleeping accommodation for 8 people.
About 150 metres away is our small farm with sheep, cows, chickens and ducks, a horse and 2 cats.
With a large vegetable garden and several bee colonies, we produce many things for everyday life.

The detached holiday home ' Lorbeere ' is situated in a fantastically quiet south-facing location, with an unobstructed view of the Normandy hills, the 'Bocage'.
Here you are far away from the noise of the roads, in a landscape that has been little developed for tourism and is therefore natural, where it still gets really dark at night and you can watch a gigantic starry sky!
The natural stone house is located 3 km from the next village, as the penultimate house in a dead-end street.
We offer a living area of 105 sqm, with an enclosed garden, parking space and boules court. Here your children can play and make noise undisturbed,
You can walk directly from the house with your dog through the adjacent forest and in the evening at the wood stove with a glass of French wine,
French wine, baguette and camembert.

Een heel mooi huis, waar we genoten hebben van onze vakantie. De tuin met terras en petanquebaan is genieten, totale rust in een doodlopend straatje. Enkel de vogels die zich laten horen. Onze kinderen waren blij het met (buiten-) speelgoed en de fiets die ze konden gebruiken. De BBQ die ter beschikking stond heeft er mede voor gezorgd dat we bijna de hele tijd buiten hebben kunnen vertoeven. Mooie plek op uitstappen te maken. Als je max een uur reistijd telt geraak je vlot in de meer toeristische streken van Normandië. We hadden onze fietsen mee, die we konden stallen in een ruime fietsenstalling. We konden zo de glooiende streek ook per fiets verkennen. Heel aangename gastvrouw die ons van een aantal streekproducten liet proeven. 1 klein aandachtspunt om rekening mee te houden: er is geen internet aanwezig. Op zich geen probleem want met 4g hadden we een vlotte connectie om eens wat op te zoeken. Maar wie data slorpende pubers heeft, houdt hier best rekening mee. :)

Ich hatte auch den Eindruck, dass Sie und Ihre Kinder das Haus, die große Terrasse und den Garten sehr genossen haben! Es sah immer richtig nach Urlaub aus, wenn ich bei Ihnen vorbei kam.

In Le Laurier kun je genieten van alle rust en prachtige natuur in de omgeving.
Ideaal met honden die kunnen genieten van de omheinde tuin.
Meerdere marktjes in de omgeving en ook gelegenheid voor actief vakantie beleven (klimmen , kanoën etc).

We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad hier. Lekker buiten eten, de kinderen vonden de schapen in de wei fantastisch en onze puppy kon heerlijk spelen in de omheinde tuin. 's avonds werd de woonkamer snel warm met hulp van de kachel en er was genoeg ruimte in en om het huis. We hebben ons veel op de plek zelf vermaakt, maar ook in de omgeving zijn genoeg activiteiten om te doen met jonge kinderen. Mooie natuur en buitensportactiviteiten. Andrea en Georg zijn gastvrij en we konden hun zelfgemaakte biologische kaas, yoghurt, brood en appelsap eten en groenten uit de moestuin kopen. Echt een aanrader. We komen hier graag terug.
Restaurants, food & wine
Being in the heart of Calvados, you will enjoy an abundant supply of cider, poiré, pommeau and calvados.
Because of the proximity to the sea, the choice of fresh seafood is also very large. Other typical dishes of the region are tripes à la mode de Caen and andouille de Vire.
Of course, you will also find numerous pizzerias, crêperies and restaurants serving typical French cuisine. (Information brochures are available in the house).
Activities
The region offers numerous activities for all ages. These include canoeing, a climbing course, summer toboggan run, barefoot trail, bungee jumping, paragliding and donkey walks.
There is a zoo, an outdoor pool and a slate mine with a mineral exhibition in the immediate vicinity.
Mont St Michel is certainly one of the most popular and unmissable sights. But the Bayeux Tapestry, the Landing Coast, the Memorial in Caen and the castle of Guillaume le Conquerant in Falaise are also worth a visit.

We invite you to visit our small farm at any time. There you can stock up on home-made products such as vegetables, various drinks, bread and honey.
Furthermore, we are happy to help you with words and deeds if you need a few more tips on how to spend your free time or if you have to make an unexpected doctor's appointment.
