Welcome to our holiday home in the beautiful rolling hills of Normandy, located on the border of the Calvados region and La Manche. Our 31-hectare estate offers a peaceful and rural setting, ideal for a relaxing holiday. Enjoy a refreshing dip in our heated swimming pool or relax in one of our two luxurious and spacious gites. Discover the beautiful surroundings of Calvados and La Manche, its rich culture and history, French cuisine and many activities and attractions in one of the most beautiful locations in Normandy.
What makes Les Guérets unique?
Les Guérets is small and quietly located in the green hills of the Calvados, yet in close proximity to the town of Vire de Normandie. Our gîtes are spacious, comfortable, fully equipped and fully featured. Moreover, Les Guérets has a heated swimming pool with a generous sun terrace.
Gîte 'La Pommeraie' is a fully renovated gîte where the past lives on in the authentic elements such as the granite fireplace and walls. In this modern renovated gîte, the past lives on in the characteristic elements such as the granite fireplace with wood burner and the original walls. La Pommeraie has a surface area of 115m2. On the ground floor there is a spacious kitchen with dining room, a bathroom with shower and toilet, a utility room and a bedroom for two persons (beds: 2x90x200).
The living room is on the first floor and is connected to the kitchen/dining room by a mezzanine. On the other side of the upper floor you will find a separate toilet with washbasin and two bedrooms. One of these bedrooms has a loft which can be accessed via a separate staircase (bed downstairs: 90x210 - bed upstairs: 120x190). The beds in the master bedroom are extra long: 2x90x210.
La Pommeraie is a luxurious and comfortable gîte which is fully furnished and equipped with various facilities. In addition, La Pommeraie has a spacious and furnished terrace.

With us, you will find the natural tranquillity of the countryside and also be in the immediate vicinity of the lively town of 'Vire de Normandie'.
The 18-hole golf course 'Golf de Vire' is only 4 km away from our domain. From the domain there are several hiking trails that reflect the natural beauty of the area. The town of Vire is 7 km away and offers several supermarkets, bakeries, cafés and restaurants.
Our holiday home is the ideal base to discover the many sights and activities in the Calvados and La Manche region. From here, you can easily visit the impressive Mont Saint Michel, explore the historic D-Day beaches, explore the bustling city of Caen and admire the famous Bayeux tapestry. You can also enjoy beautiful nature, picturesque villages and delicious local cuisine. Whether you love history, culture, nature or gastronomy, there is something for everyone near our holiday home.

Een fantastisch verblijf en echte aanrader. Omgeving is rustig, huis schoon, ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien.
Zeer gastvrij. Onze zoon heeft met veel plezier geholpen in de moestuin en met zijn nieuwe vriend Vie gespeeld.

Wat een heerlijk verblijf! De gastvrijheid waar we mee werden ontvangen was direct een goed begin van onze vakantie. Eva & Wilbert laten heel fijn het huis zien. Het huis is echt van alle gemakken voorzien. Omdat wij oa een dochter van 1 bij ons hadden was het echt super dat er al een kinderstoel was, maar ook een echt ledikant met heerlijk matras waar onze dochter goed op kon slapen.
In de omgeving is ook zoveel moois te zien en bovenal de rust bij het huis zelf: heerlijk. Onze zoon van 4 vond het lekker om in het zwembad te zijn wat echt ontzettend goed schoon wordt gehouden.
Sowieso is alles netjes en schoon en goed onderhouden.
De eerste of tweede avond zeiden wij al tegen elkaar; konden we maar langer blijven. Zo goed voelde het al.
Mocht je hier een verblijf boeken neem dan zeker een keer de ontbijtservice, wauw zo lekker! En veel konden er gewoon nog een lunch van maken.
Kortom; een verblijf hier is absoluut de moeite waard! Genoten.

Wat hebben wij een fantastische week gehad op Les Guérets. Niet alleen is het een hele fijne en rustige plek in een prachtige omgeving, ook de sfeer, de energie en de warme gastvrijheid van Eva en Wilbert hebben onze vakantie een gouden randje gegeven. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien en de liefde die de eigenaren erin hebben gestoken om er wat moois van te maken was niet alleen zichtbaar maar ook sterk voelbaar. Sfeervolle en gezellige inrichting, goed uitgeruste keuken, de Big Green Egg hebben wij iedere dag met plezier gebruikt en de bedden waren ook top. Ook onze hond was welkom en die had het op het terrein goed naar z'n zin en voor onze zoon van 7 was het zwembad echt ultiem genieten (iedere dag in het water ondanks de soms nog barbaarse temperaturen). Kortom, voor ons was het een top week, met dank aan Wilbert& Eva!

Calvados is known for its gourmet cuisine and its delicious local products,
Famous for its cheeses, such as camembert, apples and cream are also typical of the region, but there is more! Normandy is the first French region for the scallop. Oysters are also cultivated (Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, Veules, etc.) and mussels.
Other typical Normandy specialities are salted lamb, the andouille from Vire, tripes (tripe) from Caen, the boudin noir (blood sausage) from Mortagne, or the teurgoule (a kind of sweet rice porridge with cinnamon) and the delicious caramel sweets 'caramel d'Isigny'.
All this tastes extra good with a glass of cider, poiré, pommeau or a delicious Calvados. Normandy has a remarkable gastronomic heritage and products labelled AOP and AOC,
We will be happy to help you find gems of restaurants in the surrounding area. There is also a Cider Route: a signposted tourist tour in the Normandy Pays d'Auge east of Caen. You will recognise about 20 cider producers by the 'Cru de Cambremer' signs along the Cider Route.
Activities
With a rich history full of memories and nostalgia, Normandy has a whole range of peculiarities to offer. This piece of paradise has something for everyone, a place to dream away, relax or get active.
The region offers everything from hiking to bungee jumping, leisurely strolls through the markets, a day at the beach or visits to historical sites. Families, active holidaymakers and those looking for peace and quiet can all find something to their liking here.
In addition, the Calvados is inextricably linked to the Battle of Normandy, much of which can be found in the various museums and towns.
Famous landing beaches include Utah, Omaha, Juno, Gold and Sword Beach. The battle fought here still marks the landscape.
Just a 5-minute drive away is the large lake 'Lac de la Dathée' amidst beautiful hills. Golf enthusiasts will also find the challenging 18-hole course of Golf Club 'Golf de Vire' here.
