The house
The detached country house (gite) 'Grand Credôrye' is located 5 km from the sea and the cosy promenade of the seaside resort Veulettes-sur-Mer. There is a local contact (lives a village away). She speaks French.
Many walks can also be done well with a mountain bike. On all walks dogs can run free with only occasionally, in villages, a leash obligation. Routes from one hour to day trips are easy to plan with maps and route indications.At the local tourist office you can buy various maps
Grand Credôrye, while fully maintaining its authenticity, was completely restored and furnished in style in spring 2008. This makes it a house with old charm and modern comfort. Photos show only part of the special atmosphere! The old beams, the smell of the country, the sea air and inside the house of the centuries-old big fireplace... all that makes this old-modern furnished farmhouse a wonderful holiday spot. The house is completely single-storey. All rooms and bathrooms can therefore be reached without stairs. The large garden, over 2500 m2, is almost entirely south-facing and is fenced off all around, securely and safely for dogs and children. Both the living room and kitchen and two of the three bedrooms face south. These rooms, with their own outside door, open directly onto the large garden.
The bathrooms are equipped with shower and bath. The kitchen is partly open to the living room. The kitchen is also equipped to the standards of a modern kitchen connoisseur! Large (gas) cooker (5 burners) with (hot air) oven/grill, dishwasher, large fridge and freezer. The large wooden dining table provides all the inspiration for special meals with great conversations.
The house also has a spacious hall with space for coats, bags, etc. The house also contains a washing and drying machine, 2 x loft with separate bed.
3 downstairs bedrooms, two of which have access to the loft with single beds of 1.90 long.

The layout of the house makes it ideal for stays of 2 people or 2 families.
Summarised: three double bedrooms with beds that can be linked or separated, above two of those bedrooms there is an open loft with a single bed; 2 spacious bathrooms with double washbasin, toilet, shower and bath (2 large boilers); spacious, cosy kitchen with large, modern 5-burner gas cooker and hot air oven, air fryer, large fridge and freezer, dishwasher (12 couverts), washing machine, dryer. Large garden (2500 m2) facing south, fully fenced for dog and child. Distance to sea and beach (seaside resort Veulettes-sur-Mer) about 4 km.
In short, a special, old "longère", with modern comfort and comfortable furniture, combined with the large - fully fenced - south-facing garden and all rooms on the ground floor! An absolute must!
It is possible to stay here with a wheelchair.
However, it is not entirely equipped for more severely disabled people, although it is low-threshold.

Grand Credôrye' is located in the green village of Canouville, in the beautiful region between Dieppe and Fécamp, south-west of Saint-Valery-en-Caux. A few kilometres away is the old-fashioned seaside resort of Veulettes-sur-Mer, with its now fully renovated boulevard with terraces and sea-view restaurants serving fresh fish caught at sea (every day?). The area is perfect for long walks, with or without your dog(s). These 'grand randonnee routes' offer hours of opportunities to let the dog(s) run free. Occasionally a walk crosses a village and must be leashed. This is indicated on the detailed walking maps of the area available in the house. Canouville is a real rural village, a place of settlement protected by trees and once home to a Roman amphitheatre! You can reach the rugged, heavily hilly Côte d'Albâtre in just over four hours from the Dutch border. Summer and winter parking near the coast, including in the seaside resorts, is no problem. The lively fishing and pleasure yacht ports of Fécamp and St Valery-en-Caux are a 15-minute drive away, the beautiful coastal town of Étretat about 30 minutes. The historic city of Rouen with its many shops and impressive architecture can be reached in 30-45 minutes. Golf can be played at Dieppe and Étretat.

Wij hebben tot volle tevredenheid een winterse week in dit charmante, vrijstaande landhuis doorgebracht. De grote open haard is prachtig, het bestelde hout lag al voor ons klaar en brandde uitstekend. Met de twee goede banken was dat ’s avonds een heerlijke plek. De keuken is goed en volledig uitgerust en de omheinde tuin is groot. Onze honden hebben het daarin ook leuk gehad, al is deze omheining niet geschikt voor geroutineerde uitbrekers en moet u goed controleren op te repareren gaten.
Het contact met zowel de Franse contactpersoon als de Nederlandse beheerder verliep heel prettig. Met meerdere mensen was het ook plezierig dat er drie, echt ruime slaapkamers waren en twee badkamers. Alles gelijkvloers.
Het huis is heel rustig, landelijk gelegen in een klein dorpje. Op loopafstand zit er één klein buurtwinkeltje met vers brood, enkele levensmiddelen, zelfgemaakte vispasteitjes en een aardige en hartelijke eigenaar. Een grote supermarkt en meerdere winkels zijn in een plaats verderop.
Het strand en diverse leuke badplaatsjes zijn vlakbij, met daarbij ineens ook verrassend mooie dorpjes en rondwandelingen zoals bij Veules-les-Roses. De kust van de Côte d’Albâtre is ruig, zeer afwisselend en de moeite waard. Rond het meer kan er ook door de minder geoefende en/of geblesseerde loper een leuke -vlakke- wandeling gemaakt worden. Op rij-afstand zijn er diverse leuke havenplaatsen zoals St. Valery-en-Caux en Fécamp, of iets verder de mooie kustplaatsen Étretat of Honfleur.
Met alles in-en-om het huis, voor ons zeker een gîte die we graag op ons vakantielijstje houden!Comment from Nelleke Fruijtier

Het huis is rustig gelegen en door een goed omheinde tuin ook geschikt voor een vakantie met hond. Op 1 plek is de afrastering wat lager en de buurman heeft kippen… om het niet onnodig spannend te maken met takken afgezet. Het huis is compleet en authentiek ingericht. De tuin was prima voor onze sloughi. Hij kon zowaar zijn benen strekken en rond het bosje rennen.
De omgeving was ronduit verrassend. De kust is werkelijk heel mooi en zeker veulette heeft nog iets authentieks over zich. St Valery en Caux is groter, met een mooie haven en eigenlijk hebben we ook daar genoten. De bouwwijze van de huizen met ‘ vakwerk’ hout en leem maakt het erg schilderachtig, En daar waar ik had verwacht dat het vlak was aan de kust ook leuk om daar met de auto rond te rijden met alle hoogteverschillen.
Kortom we hebben echt genoten, ook van Etretat. Dat is natuurlijk wel kermis, maar wat bijzonder is dat. Naar boven gelopen naar het kerkje om ‘ de foto’ zelf te maken..Comment from Nelleke Fruijtier

Like everywhere else in France, there is plenty of culinary to enjoy in this region. The fish !!!
Activities
The garden is fenced off all around and suitable for dogs to run freely in. From the house one walks, within five minutes to the village shop for daily shopping. And a cosy chat in the local pub. From the house one walks within two minutes to the Grand Randonnee and thus to the entrance to extensive (dog) walking routes. From the house, one drives to the sea within five minutes.
In Cany Barville (at 4.5 km) there is a modern gym, a large swimming pool and a children's attraction village (Lac de Cany), where among other things water sports in all forms can be done by adults and children.

Further remarks
'Grand Credôrye' is for rent during the summer months, in principle on a weekly basis (Saturday-Saturday). It is also possible to rent our house per day (or several days).
Electricity used by the tenant via meter reading will be deducted from the deposit at cost price.
The deposit of € 250,00 will be returned without demonstrable damage, after settlement of the electricity bill, within 2 weeks after the rental period.
Dogs: Maximum 2 welcome. More than 2 dogs (3rd dog and beyond) after consultation.
Arrival 1st day: approx. 16.30, departure day: approx. 10.00.
There are two voids in the house. These rooms are each in open connection with a downstairs bedroom. There is an extra bed on both these voids. This makes the house suitable for up to eight people.
Booking: After reservation 25% (6 months in advance) or 50% (within 6 months) rent and deposit to be paid by bank within 7 days. More spread of payment is possible, please mention when making the reservation. If cancelled in writing up to 6 weeks in advance, half of the prepaid rent and the entire deposit will be returned. The remaining amount must be paid no later than 6 weeks before the start of the rental period; when booking within this period, payment must be made immediately.
Please bring your own bed linen and towels, duvets and pillows are provided.
