The house
We welcome you to the detached Gite at Park Village le Chat. From the garden, terrace and balcony you have a beautiful view over the lake.
The park has many facilities such as a restaurant, swimming pool, paddling pool, swimming lake with sandy beach, fishing lake, playground, playing fields, tennis courts, petanque courts and table tennis tables. There is also a restaurant with lounge terrace next to the swimming pool. Here you can enjoy lunch, dinner, snacks and delicious drinks.
At the swimming pool, paddling pool and swimming lake you have free access to sun beds and parasols. The swimming lake is gently sloping and has a lovely sandy beach. There is a toilet block with shower at the swimming pool and swimming lake. The swimming lake has a slide and rafts for children to pull themselves across, which is always fun.
On the ground floor you will find the master bedroom with double bed, wardrobe and sliding doors to the balcony from where you have a beautiful view over the lake. So you can enjoy the beautiful view with a nice drink until late in the evening.
There is a 2nd bedroom for 2 people. A loft bed with desk and a single bed.
The bathroom is equipped with shower, sink and toilet.
Downstairs you will find the living room with a fully equipped open-plan kitchen. Smart TV where you can watch Dutch/Flemish channels and your favourite app like Youtube and others. An Xbox Series 2 where unlimited fun games can be downloaded also a radio/cd player. There is also a games cabinet. Excellent free Wifi/internet through pulled fibre optic cable.
The kitchen is fully equipped with coffee maker, Senseo, DeLonghi Nespresso, washing machine, Bosch dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, Listo oven, electric hob with extractor. Ample stock of pans, glasses, cutlery, etc. No need to wash dishes and you can do your own laundry.
In the garden a terrace with several seats and long chairs to enjoy the privacy, tranquillity and nature. A very nice green enclosed garden through trees and hedges. You have maximum privacy!

The park is located just outside the village of Ecuras. This is beautifully situated in a hilly landscape. 6 km away you will find the village of Montbron where you will find 2 large supermarkets such as Supermarche and Aldi, a bakery, butcher, tobacconist, tobacconist, library, pharmacies, doctor's surgery and electric car charging stations.
Several beautiful cities you can visit such as Angouleme, Limoges, Cognac, Brantome. My favourite place in the area is Rochefoucauld with a beautiful castle and restaurant. You can take a guided tour and children can dress up in traditional clothes. The town has nice shops, bars and restaurants. You can find the large Supermarche Le Clercq there. In the town, a delicious patisserie with lots of different pastries.
For day trips further afield:
Bordeaux is a bit further away but doable for a day trip. Wonderful shops and beautiful buildings, delicious food, really enjoy it.
Also a bit further away is Ilja Gort's wine farm, here you can buy a delicious wine directly from the farm or one of the beautiful books Ilja has written. You can make an appointment at Chateaugort.nl.

Restaurants, food & wine
You can buy wine, among other things, at the Cava in St Sornin this is from the local farmer. You can also have a wine tasting here. Besides the cava, there is now also a delicious bistro.
In Montbron, I recommend the local pizzeria. Sit outside in the garden behind the restaurant. A delicious pizza for a small price. In the same village, you can go to the local snack bar for a delicious snack.
For culinary delights, Moulin de Tardoire is a Michelin-starred restaurant. Check the weekday menu and reservations in advance on this restaurant's website.

Activities
Nearby, you can canoe on the river Tardoire, Also, there is a riding school just outside the park. You can also go visit exciting caves. And there is a go-kart track nearby. A lake towards Angouleme where you can surf. Hiking and cycling routes, even hiking to Spain possible.
Just outside at walking distance from the park there is an 18-hole golf course Golf international de la Preze. Where the experienced and novice player can play. A par 3 course has been laid out for the novice player. Next to the golf course is a restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious meal or a cup of coffee or a drink. If you have always wanted to try this, now is your chance. It is possible to sign up for a lesson/lessons. As a tenant, you get a discount on court hire and lessons.
Weekly markets and bric and brac markets in various towns and cities.
You can also taste and buy wine at the local Cave.
At the cave you can find a delicious bistro. What I can also recommend a delicious pizzeria in Montbron (6km) with outdoor terrace where you can eat delicious food for a small price.
Are you looking for a culinary adventure? There is a Michelin Star restaurant a few kilometres from the park.
