Les Gouilleres

This beautiful detached farmhouse (275 m2) is located on a spacious site of almost half a hectare (4400 m2). The beautiful place has many authentic details and a romantic nostalgic atmosphere. The swimming pool (10 x 5 metres) is completely private, surrounded by plants and has full sun in the afternoon. Conversely, the lounge sofa in the corner and the large wooden veranda provide shade in the afternoon. In the semi-open studio (12 x 6 metres), all sorts of things can be organised. Think yoga/meditation, movie night, ping-pong competitions or a dance party. There is even a small orchard with walnut and plum trees. There are several tent sites for camping.

The site is set in the rural hills of the Charente, on the border of the Dordogne, in south-west France. You are surrounded by wide views of forests and fields of maize, wheat and sunflowers. The location is in a small hamlet (hameau) of 2 houses. Our neighbours (quiet and friendly English couple) across the road are the only people around. Our location is totally private, there is no intrusion from neighbours.

At the location, there are many nooks to seclude yourself, laze in one of the hammocks and for children there is plenty of space to play. At any time of day, you can choose a spot in the sun or shade. This is an ideal holiday destination for couples, families with or without children and groups of up to 14 guests. Think groups of friends, large families or organisations.

THE HOLIDAY HOME - A FARMHOUSE WITH AUTHENTIC DETAILS
This holiday home, a farmhouse in the typical Charentaise style, has many authentic details. Such as the wooden twisted staircase with decorated bars, original wooden floors, a tiled hall with ornaments, moulded ceilings and high windows looking out over the wide fields and woods. See the photos for a good idea.

The interior of the bedrooms is a mix of French nostalgia with a modern twist. The beds sleep perfectly and come with linens and towels. Each room has a beautiful view.

GROUND FLOOR - 1 BEDROOM, LIVING KITCHEN, LIVING ROOM, TOILET AND SHOWER
On the ground floor, the rooms are connected by a long wide hallway.
- Adjacent to the courtyard garden you will find a cosy bedroom with a double bed.
- Opposite is a toilet and a separate bathroom with shower and washbasin.
- There is a large living kitchen and scullery.
- The living room is cosy and spacious. In the bookcase, you will find many beautiful books, some games and exciting DVDs to enjoy. With a wood-burning stove and a nice corner sofa, it is good to relax here.

KITCHEN DINER & SCULLERY - COSY AND EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR GOOD COOKING
The living kitchen has a nice relaxed atmosphere, it is the heart of the house. Everything is available for cooking for families and groups.
- Apart from the large table for 8 guests, everything else is available in a modern kitchen. Coffee machine, kettle, 2 modern hot-air ovens with steam function and dishwasher.
- All kinds of kitchen utensils, pans, cutlery, plates, mugs and glasses for at least 15 guests.
- In the pantry you will find a microwave, fridge and washing machine.

1ST FLOOR - 4 BEDROOMS, TOILET, SHOWER AND BATH
When you take the stairs you get to the first floor. There you will find a hall with four bedrooms and a separate bathroom with shower, toilet and sink.
- There is a cosy single room with a view.
- A spacious room for two single beds and.... in the same room an extra single room with a single bed. This can be closed with a door.
- The largest bedroom, with double bed and single bed, has its own bathroom with corner bath and shower, washbasin and toilet.

2ND FLOOR/LOFT - 2 BEDROOMS, TOILET, SHOWER AND BATH
This is the attic with exposed rustic beams.
- Two bedrooms with two single beds each
- A separate spacious bathroom with sink, toilet, shower and bath.

SWIMMING POOL - COOLING DOWN AND PLAYING IN THE WATER
The 5 by 10-metre pool is in an ideal spot on the site, next to the veranda and free from view of our neighbours. The swimming water is checked every week. We use just enough chlorine to keep the pool clean. There is also an outdoor shower.

SEATING AREA, LOUNGE BED, HAMMOCK AND SUNBEDS - RELAX, READ, NAP AND LAUGH
There is a nice seating area by the pool. There is also a choice of sunbeds and beach chairs. We attached the hammock to the more than 100-year-old lime tree. Nothing is nicer than slowly swaying to gaze over the French countryside.

VERANDA - FOR DELICIOUS MEALS TOGETHER AT THE LONG TABLE
Next to the pool, overlooking the valley with fields of sunflowers, is a wooden covered veranda with plenty of tables and chairs. At dinner time, this provides the ultimate Mediterranean get-together. Under the porch roof, on an elevation, there is a sheltered spot with a lovely mattress, for siesta afternoon naps or to enjoy the fantastic starry sky (Falling stars in summer!).

OPEN STUDIO - FOR VARIOUS ACTIVITIES
Opposite the swimming pool is the large semi-open studio (6 by 12 metres) with floating floor. It is suitable for various activities. Think dancing, yoga, ping-pong, etc.

LIME TREE WITH SWING
One of Les Gouilleres' finest spots. The more than 100-year-old lime tree with its canopy ensures that the sun has little chance here, making it a very nice cool spot. The view over the fields is insanely relaxing. And the swing makes you feel like a kid again. It's that simple :-)

RENTAL TO ORGANISATIONS
For organisations looking for a venue for training, courses and workshops, we offer a different range.
Our venue is particularly suitable for large groups. There is sufficient outdoor and indoor space for different types of courses, workshops and/or training sessions.

All facilities are available for a perfect and inspiring week. Consider hiring staff such as an experienced cook, masseurs, cleaners. Creative materials for drawing/painting, sculpting and mosaics, Yoga mats, yoga cushions and yoga swings. Sound box with microphone.

From our own experience, having organised holidays with workshops at this place ourselves for many years, we know that we can easily accommodate 25 people (guests including team, in the house and in 1-person tents in the orchard). With so many people, there is still enough space and privacy for everyone.
