The house
The spacious Gîte Magnolia accommodates 2-7 people (2 x double room and 1 x sleeping loft with 3 single beds).
Each room is tastefully and authentically decorated, with comfortable beds.
It is a lovely spacious house, with authentic elements and lots of atmosphere. Walking outside, you step into your own spacious private garden with a dining table and chairs, a hammock and sunbeds.
Our guests can use the swimming pool and all the nice spots in the communal garden (swing, hammocks, benches, barbecue, communal coffee & drinks table, a fire pit and several terraces).
The living room with an open, fully equipped kitchen, sitting area and dining area, has French doors to the private terrace and spacious garden with dining table and chairs, the large Magnolia tree and hammock. The spacious kitchen has both a washing machine and a dishwasher.
On the first floor are a landing, 2 bedrooms: 1 double bedroom (with fireplace and built-in wardrobe) and 1 smaller double bedroom (with its own washbasin, a desk and wardrobe). The spacious bathroom is between these two rooms and has a shower/bathtub, two washbasins, a closet and toilet.
On the second floor you will find a 3rd sleeping area (sleeping loft) and children's playroom with three single beds.
The grounds are fully walled, so ideal for children to have fun in the gardens. Your pet is also very welcome (on request, 50,- per week).
Our gîte is perfectly finished and the houses and various B&B/Family rooms are surrounded by our domain full of flowers and (fruit) trees, where there are seats, terraces and hammocks everywhere.
The pool is open daily from 10:30 - 19:30 (due to cleaning). Bed & bath linen included, only please bring your own pool towels.
* Should the Gîte Magnolia be booked, we offer the equivalent Gîte Cardabelle if possible (arrival and departure on Sundays!)

The Gite Magnolia makes a pleasant holiday in the French countryside possible. The surrounding landscape is interspersed with picturesque villages, forests, grazing cows and above all, the Lacs de Haute Charente: beautiful lakes with beaches.
At Domaine Charente itself, there will be both peace and quiet in the private garden, where you can have breakfast together and enjoy a glass of wine at dusk. But it will also be lively there, when the occasional meal is eaten together, as all the guests have indicated that they like it, at a long table in the garden.
Children can play table tennis, football, cards or go swimming in one of the lakes, as an alternative to the swimming pool.
Located in the Charente, on the border with the Dordogne, you will find the lovely quiet village of Mazières in the hilly landscape. Peacefully situated, but anything but isolated, because for daily shopping you can quickly go to Chasseneuil sur Bonnieure, Rochefoucauld or Roumazières.
Through the undulating countryside between Limoges and Angoulême, Mazières is easily accessible via the N 141. Mazières itself is situated on the D16. Domaine Charente is situated in the middle of the small village opposite the church.
The travel distance from Breda to Mazières is 842 kilometres or over 9 hours.

We hebben hier een week mogen verblijven wat absoluut geen straf was!
Alle ingrediënten waren aanwezig! Gastheer en gastvrouw (Rob en Lein) waren erg lief en zorgzaam! Borrelen, spelletjes, bbq, discozwemmen voor de kids….Oja , bingo niet te vergeten!
We hebben genoten, echt een aanrader!

Hier twee weken mogen vertoeven in de zomervakantie. Het uitzicht fantastisch, de gezelligheid met elkaar geweldig, alles mag en alles kan, alles is bespreekbaar. Zeer gastvrij, alles is aanwezig!
Wij hebben genoten van jullie de andere gasten en van de prachtige omgeving. !lieven en tine from Boezinge,
we hebben een superleuke week beleefd in deze gite! Enorm gastvrij! de gite zelf is heel ruim en ideaal ook voor onze 3 kinderen. het leuke is dat alles aanwezig is in de keuken en zelfs speelgoed voor de kids. ideale uitvalsbasis om uitstappen te doen in heel de streek! een aanrader!
Restaurants, food & wine
There is a wide range of restaurants and other establishments in our region. A la campagne, you can enjoy the smaller establishments for a great 'plat du jour', rural dishes of the region. While in the larger towns there is something for everyone, including gastronomy. As an apéro, one will certainly offer the regional Pineau. For a spontaneous wine tasting, we recommend you to follow the signs that you often see along the road. This way, you will come across the most surprising places...
Cognac and Bordeaux are recommended for a day trip. Cognac, in the middle of the vineyards, of course for a tasting... on the spot.
La Maison de Rémy Martin is open to the public.
Activities
You can canoe/kayak on the river, a few kilometres from us in Exideuil or on one of the lakes.
In St Junien, a 20-minute drive away, you can play golf, as well as in Rouzède (about 15 min).
There are many landscaped beaches 10 minutes from us in Etagnac, Roumazieres and Pressignac. In Massignac there is an adventure park.
In Brigueuil there is a beautiful Cité from Roman times. Town walks tell you how this place endured numerous wars and what role it played.
If you like churches and cathedrals, you will enjoy the huge heritage with Romanesque influences.
Nature and geography lend themselves enormously to hiking and cycling. Not to mention the numerous trips you can take to visit castles or caves, for example.
Of course in the summer months there are locally lively village festivals, festivals or other events.
Distance to the west coast (sea and beaches) St. Georges de Ddidonne is about 1.5 hours.
On site, you will of course enjoy the pool and garden. No shortage of books and games for the children (pool, football, swing, hammocks), so you can decide what to do at any time of the day.
Lein is happy to make an activity calendar, or book restaurants for guests.
