The house
Our holiday home is located roughly in the middle of France. It is very rural here , small villages , farms , hills and rivers.
Our house is located in Clavaud ; a cluster of 8 mostly farmhouses, surrounded by meadows.
The house is slightly higher than the rest of the area and therefore has a beautiful view.
Green hills and historical villages alternate cheerfully. The region is very quiet and rural
Our house is a lovely house, I immediately felt at home" and: "everything has been thought of", Le Ver Luisant is a comfortable and tastefully furnished house, especially the silence of the countryside..........This is how our guests describe our holiday home.
A large and super cosy kitchen with all imaginable cooking and kitchen utensils and a table for up to eight people. The living room with wood-burning stove, lots of films, CDs, books, magazines and games. On the ground floor is a bedroom with two single beds, the bathroom and toilet.
Upstairs the 2 large authentically decorated bedrooms with oak flooring and beamed ceiling.
Under the pergola is a large wooden table for cosy meals al fresco and roses and honeysuckle bloom. Deckchairs to make the most of the views, ice buckets at your fingertips. There is an outdoor tennis table in the garage. Our holiday home is also child-friendly. For the little ones, we have a cot, bath, playpen, highchair, swing and sandbox.
The enclosed garden is and safe for your child or dog. The quiet surroundings invite beautiful walks.
The house and garden are dog-friendly. Pets are welcome.

Ultimate peace and quiet: the real French countryside in the Creuse not yet discovered by tourists. The Creuse is the least densely populated department of France.
Our house is located on the border of the Limousin and the Auvergne in a charming hilly landscape intersected by winding roads, streams and rivers. Characteristic of the region are the white Charolais cows, small plots bordered by hawthorn hedges, whimsical oak trees laden with mistletoe.
The view from the garden is unequalled. In clear weather you can see the Puy de Dôme, the highest volcano. When it is dark, you look out on the illuminated church on the other side of the valley, the call of the owl makes your fairytale complete.
The house is situated in a hamlet of 8 houses on a dead-end road. Peace and quiet is guaranteed.

Begin volgende maand gaan we weer naar Clavaud, het voelt inmiddels als een thuis. In de afgelopen jaren zijn we er verschillende keren geweest en telkens weer intens genoten van het huis met alle comfort ( geen overdreven luxes), we hebben genoten van de rust en stilte, van de prachtige omgeving en de bijzondere steden zoals Vichcy en Clermont Ferrant. Heerlijk weer een paar weken leven tussen de Franse boeren, groente en fruit op de markt kopen, het restaurantje bij de watermolen net voorbij Evaux. Kortom het huis en de omgeving zijn heerlijk, wij hopen dat Arnold en Thea nog heel lang het huis met deze sfeer houden.

Jullie huis is een paradijs voor de rustzoeker, we hebben 2 weken genoten
van de stilte en de natuur, voor ons was het “het einde van de wereld”.
Het huis en de inrichting was geweldig en helemaal onze smaak en

The region is known for its honest farmer's dishes.
In our kitchen you will find many recipes for these delicious local dishes.
In every village you can find a nice restaurant. One of our favourites is "Le Damier" in Fontanieres.
Activities
The Creuse, part of the Limousin region, is made for those looking for peace and quiet. It is hilly, with many farms, rivers, small villages and authentic restaurants. You can walk for hours on hardly walked paths and don't meet anyone. Fishing or playing in a river or lake. Nearby is a trout farm.
Aubusson has a carpet weaving factory and museum; a remarkable brocante in Bellegarde en Marche; medieval streets in Montluçon with its farmers' market on Saturday mornings and a beautiful chateau; homes of George Sand and Chopin. Each town has its own market on alternating days where you can buy the most delicious local produce. But there is also a popular theme park (Vulcania) that teaches you everything about volcanism, and the spectacular view from the volcano Puy de Dôme. In the house you will find many suggestions for activities in the area as well as hiking and biking routes.

Further remarks
Groceries can be found in Evaux les Bains, 7 km from Clavaud, with a large supermarket and 3 bakeries.
Furthermore, there are all shopping possibilities.
Golf course 25 km away in Gouzon.
If you would like to visit a real French market during your holiday, we recommend the French market in the village of Felletin, half an hour from our house. In summer, many villages and towns in the area hold flea markets or agricultural days with demonstrations. There are great fishing and swimming opportunities in one of the thousands of "etangs" south of us.
