Restaurants, food & wine

The gite is 24 km from Bergerac. This city on the Dordogne has a lot to offer, such as its wine and tobacco museum, the famous statue of Cyrano de Bergerac and of course the charming old centre with its terraces and restaurants.
A bakery, supermarket and restaurants can be found in the lovely Beaumont (7 km) as well as in the charming Lalinde (8 km), located on the Dordogne.
In Molières itself is a café cum restaurant cum supermarket for the very first necessities of life.
The Dordogne has a rich culinary tradition. The Périgord Pourpre region is the purveyor of refined products such as wine, truffles, very special mushrooms (Cèpes), duck and, last but not least, foie gras.
A small selection of addresses to recommend:
The best Pizzeria in Cadouin (4 km) next to the famous cathedral "Chez Cathy et Paulo".
Excellent food, golf and terraces in a castle: "Chateau Les Merles", Mouleydier (15 km), (owner NL).

Activities

If you want to leave this beautiful place, you can visit some cosy medieval bastide villages via a beautiful, green route: Belvès (18 km) or Monpazier (20 km). One of the many caves in the area can be found at Le Bugue (20 km) and Les Eyzies (30 km), but if you drive a little further to the caves of Lescaux you will find the famous prehistoric wall paintings. There are plenty of water sports possibilities at Trémolat (12 km): surfing, pedal boats, sailing, fishing and on the leisure lakes at Languais (16 km). For an unforgettable canoe trip or refreshing dip in the Dordogne or Vézère, there are several places to go. For children, the aqua amusement park and freshwater aquarium at Le Bugue (21 km) is a must.
Walkers and cyclists can have a great time here. A number of Grand Randonnés start directly from the property at a 2-minute walk from the gite.
You can play golf at Golf de Lolivarie, 18 holes (14 km), Golf de la Marterie, 18 holes (21 km) and at Golf Chateau les Merles, 9 holes 16 km, you can enjoy lunch or dinner.
