The house

The house is built in the tradition of the Périgord, and consists among others of a tower built in old stones. In this tower is a beautiful spacious bedroom, one imagines oneself in a castle tower.

The kitchen / living room of over 30 m2 has doors to both terraces. There is comfortable floor heating and a wood stove. There is (NL) television. The kitchen has an electric oven, dishwasher and large refrigerator. There is a large dining table.
On the ground floor is a spacious bedroom with two beds that can be made into a double bed.
The bathroom on the ground floor has a shower and toilet. There is a washing machine.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms: a large bright bedroom in the tower with a double bed and two single beds on the mezzanine.
There are duvets (6) and pillows (6).
There is an extra child's bed and child's chair
There are 2 terraces, so you can choose between sun or shade.

Les Essarts is located 3 km from the village of Plazac on a large estate in an oasis of peace. The property has a spring, meadows, woods and an orchard. In the middle of this property, at the end of a dirt road, is the old farmhouse with outbuildings. This new detached house stands on the site of an old ruin of a barn.
The spacious swimming pool (11 x 4.5 m) with 3-metre slide is beautifully situated and has a fascinating view. The pool is also used by the residents of the farm (if any). The pool works on the basis of salt electrolysis (so no chlorine),

Wat een prachtige gite, midden in het groen. Je moet wel even een stukje onverharde weg over, met mijn auto ging dat net goed, middenstuk weg was iets hoog.....maar dan heb je ook wat een mooi gelegen gite. Rust, ruimte, alleen geluid van vogels, krekels, scharrelende dassen en in de 2e week de jonge " Moose" . Wij zaten in les Essarts, 1 vd 2 vrijstaande gites. Alles in het huisje aanwezig, prima bedden en douche. Heel mooi ingedeeld binnen, in de 2e week wat koud, dan toch lekker de open haard aan. Het mooiste toch wel het grote terras voor uitgebreide lunches, diners, wat lezen en prachtige vergezichten. Maar het wild spotten met de nachtkijker vonden wij toch wel erg bijzonder zo dichtbij, achter ons huisje. Dassen, kraken de hazelnootjes, bijna
elke avond te aanschouwen en 1x een mama everzwijn met 3 kleintjes gespot zo vanaf je terras. En geen lichtvervuiling, bij een heldere nacht de sterrenhemel met de melkweg zo mooi te zien.
Zwembad was ook heerlijk om baantjes te trekken, het andere huisje was niet bezet, dus privé zwembad. De 2e week kwam Jan Jacob met de jonge Moose, erg vriendelijke eigenaar met goede tips. Fietsen langs de Vezere, prachtig en niet steil. Voor durfals kan je ook de onverharde weg af vanuit je huisje. Supermarkten en leuke restaurantjes vind je al binnen 15 minuten. En gezellige marktjes ook in de buurt. Wandelen kan je zo vanaf de voordeur, kijk ook eens naar de dassenburcht op het terrein, wow wat een gangen/holenstelsel.
1 aanbeveling rolhorren in de slaapkamers.
Wij hebben erg genoten, nous avons eu un tres bon sejour chez les essarts.

Begin sept 2023 dit prachtige huisje geboekt! We hebben een fantastische tijd gehad en genoten van de rust en natuur en natuurlijk de prachtige plaatsjes in de Dordogne! Domme, Sarlat, Périgueux enz!
Helemaal vrij en van alle gemakken voorzien. Pad ernaar toe is de eerste keer een dingetje, maar gaat elke dag beter!
Smorgens vroeg in het dauw genoten van vossen, wilde zwijnen en reeën prachtig!

Vorig jaar een bijzonder fijne vakantie gehad in La Ferme, dit jaar heerlijke tijd gehad in La maisson.
Frankrijk zoals Frankrijk voor ons moet zijn, veel groen, veel ruimte en rust om je heen.
Gezellige praatjes met Jan Jacob en met de Mehari onderweg geweest, de Kano's gebruikt kortom het was weer fantastic!
We gaan elkaar zeker weer zien!!

The house is in the middle of the prehistoric sites. It is situated between Lascaux and Les Eyzies and Sarlat and Perigueux. The most famous tourist sites are within 30 km of the house, including La Roque St. Christophe, La Madeleine, Pre-Histo Park, Grotte de Lascaux, Grotte de Grand Roc, Le Thot.
Many Chateaus, e.g. Chateau de Losse, Chateau de Puymartin, Chateau de Commarque.
Markets, brocante, restaurants, terraces and shops can be found in the picturesque villages such as Saint Leon, Les Eyzies, Sarlat, Campagne, Limueil, Domme, Beynac and St. Cyprien.
