Restaurants, food & wine

France is home to wonderful food. The Dordogne is famous for Fois Gras, duck, walnuts, strawberries, goat cheese, nut cake, walnut oil and not forgetting the wonderful wines that are produced in the region.

There are some excellent restaurants in the region, but a car is essential.

As the main meal is taken at lunchtime in France, many of our guests opt to eat out when they are visiting different pretty towns and villages, perhaps collecting some local delights from one of the great markets in the region to enjoy out on the terrace when back at La Pipistrelle.

Activities

The Perigord Vert region is bursting with opportunities from canoeing, boat trips, paddle boarding, cycling, archery, rock climbing, great walks, lake beaches, horse riding, hi wire and adventure parks and go karting.
There are also many riverside, or lake locations which are idyllic pic nic spots.
