A spacious family home in the south-west of France ; perfect for reuniting loved ones.
Set on the banks of the River L'isle, this charming property comfortably sleeps up to 12 guests (including children over 3, we have 2 cots available) and is perfect for summer holidays, long weekends with friends, or relaxing midweek breaks. The farmhouse blends rustic character with modern comfort; with six generous bedrooms and six bathrooms, a large covered terrace for al fresco dining, and a private heated pool (May to September), it offers the ideal setting for both relaxation and connection.
- Easy access from Bordeaux and Bergerac airports via car or public transport. Car hire available at both airports, we recommend hiring a car.

While we are not a party venue, we’re happy to host meaningful gatherings such as family reunions or special birthday celebrations—like a 70th, for example. Please note that we do not allow organised events such as large parties, weddings, or similar functions. This helps us maintain the calm and respectful atmosphere we value in our home. If you'd like to plan a private dinner for 12, we would be delighted to put you in contact with a private chef.
At La Vieille Ferme we can only accommodate 12 guests, we will not accept extra guests sleeping on our sofa’s.
Step into a spacious entrance hall that opens into a fully equipped kitchen and breakfast room — perfect for morning coffees or casual family meals. A separate, elegant dining room offers a more formal setting for special occasions and long, celebratory dinners. The large living room is warm and welcoming, with three generous sofas, a flat-screen TV, and a selection of books and toys for all ages — ideal for relaxing after a day out. For added convenience, the ground floor also features a fully equipped laundry room with supplies, as well as a downstairs bathroom with shower and WC.

For longer excursions, the dynamic city of Bordeaux and its iconic Cité du Vin are easily accessible, providing a wealth of culture, gastronomy, and shopping. The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for cycling through the famous Pomerol and Fronsac appellations, exploring local châteaux, and enjoying water sports on the river.

We sit right on the edge of the renowned Libournais wine region, offering effortless access to the prestigious appellations of Saint-Émilion, Pomerol, and Fronsac. Guests can easily spend their days exploring historic châteaux, taking part in private tastings.
The local area is a food lover's paradise. The bustling markets in Coutras (held on Wednesdays and Saturdays) and the larger markets of nearby Libourne provide an abundance of fresh, regional produce, artisanal cheeses, and local delicacies. Our fully equipped kitchen, elegant dining room, and generous gas barbecue area make self-catering with these exquisite ingredients an absolute pleasure.
When dining out, you can choose from rustic family-run bistros serving traditional Southwest dishes like duck confit, to sophisticated riverside guinguettes. For a culinary day trip, the vibrant city of Bordeaux is easily reached, home to Michelin-starred restaurants, historic food halls, and the perfect place to sample regional specialities like the famous canelé.
Activities
The heart of the house in summer is the large covered terrace — a spacious, shaded area made for relaxed outdoor living. It features a generous dining table for family meals, a lounge area for lazy afternoons, a Plancha gas barbecue, ping-pong table, and a hammock for curling up with a good book.
The terrace leads directly to the private 10 x 5 metre saltwater pool (1.50m deep), surrounded by sun loungers and parasols for making the most of long sunny days. There is also a convenient downstairs shower and WC in the main house — perfect for rinsing off after a swim.The mature garden stretches down to the edge of the River L’Isle, where two two-person canoes are available for guests to explore the waterway. Lifejackets are provided in a variety of sizes for both river and pool use.
