Paradis Français

Paradise Francais is a beautiful old 5 bedroom stone farmhouse, set in a lovely location in Haute-Vienne, one of three departments that make up the Limousin region in France. With stunning countryside views from the pool terrace and most of the bedrooms yet only 5 minutes from the shops and 20 minutes from A20 autoroute the views do not compromise convenience. The topping is the fantastic completely private heated swimming pool - generally open between Mid May and end Sept but often longer if the weather allows.
A second sitting room next to the downstairs twin bedroom provides a separate space so everyone can find their own place when necessary. From here is a stairscase up to the games room above which has table tennis, baby foot and a snooker / pool table as well as a sitting area and lots of books to choose from. Then a glazed door leads to the main sitting room and dining table and off there is the kitchen. This has French doors opening onto a covered loggia with a grapevine and an outdoor dining area overlooking the gardens. Upstairs there are 4 more bedrooms and another room which is my office when working from home. The views from here though are quite distracting. There are 2 seperate bedrooms (one has its own shower room) and at the back of the house are two more rooms which are linked by an internal door so this is a nice space for either a family or a couple as the single bedroom can be used as a dressing or sitting room. Although the property has 10 beds its a perfect place for 4 or 6 adults to enjoy the luxury of the space it provides. We prefer to have no more than 6 adults and then up to a maximum of 4 children depending on their ages.
This wonderful, spacious house is approximately 150 years old, and features exposed, traditional wooden oak beams and far-reaching countryside views. With terrace dining and large gardens, as well as a large open-plan dining area with lounge and wood-burning fire for use during cooler months.
Modern living is not forgotten however, with a fully equipped kitchen with full size dishwasher, utility room with washing machine, 3D TV with DVDs and freesat box, games console and Wi-Fi in both the house and pool house so you don’t have to worry about leaving any of the comforts of modern living behind.
The small woodlands behind us are home to a wide variety wildlife, and birds of prey breed each year and are a joy to watch soaring overhead. Nearby rivers also provide the opportunity of some local fishing and Lake Saint Pardoux, which is only 15 minutes away, has a sandy beach, water-sports, peaceful walks, hiking trails, cycle routes and many other leisure facilities for you to partake in all year round.
Paradise really does have it all, and it is no surprise to those of us who live here that this is why so many come here for their summer holidays, as this region of France offers everything anyone could want for a perfect holiday!
