The house
An attractive, contemporary holiday home, completely renovated in 2021, with a spacious garden and lots of privacy.
The gîte is located on our small-scale organic farm, in the beautiful Limousin region, a stone's throw from the Dordogne. Come and enjoy peace, space and the most beautiful view!
The cozy gîte offers plenty of space for two people, there is a living room with stunning views and a fully equipped kitchen at the entrance. Next door is the charming bedroom with a comfortable bed (1.60x2.10 dividable) and a bathroom en-suite with massage shower.
Relax in the spacious garden with a west-facing terrace, in addition to sunbathing, there are also shady spots where you can laze undisturbed under a tree on one of the sunbeds. The garden is bordered by a hedge, there are fruit trees and panoramic views.
Enjoy the peace together at the gîte or come and have a look around the farm with us. All seasons are different and there is a lot to discover. There is also a folder with all kinds of fun trips in the area ready for you.
A small dog is allowed in the gîte but please contact us first.

The area is characterized by its gently sloping landscape, interspersed with beautiful views and many lakes. Spread through this farmland you will find beautiful chateaus and beautiful picturesque villages with plenty of restaurants where you can enjoy French cuisine. The region is traditionally known for its "Porcelaine de Limoges" and "Madeleines" cakes in the typical shape of a shell, created by the influence of the pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
There is plenty to do and see in the village of Coussac-Bonneval. A stunning castle with a beautiful garden around it, a church and its own tourist office. The bakery and the butcher, a post office, pharmacy and mini-supermarket. A cozy garden center and several restaurants. Just outside the village is "Moulin Authier" a fishing lake where you can catch your own trout or carp, but you can also sit on the terrace. At "Chauffaille", on the other side of the village, it's fabulous for walking and picnicking.
Saint-Yrieix la Perche is a 10-minute drive from Coussac-Bonneval. Here you will find several large supermarkets, shops, restaurants and a modern sports center with swimming pool "Villa Sport". Every week there is a large market in the old center with various regional products and in the summer months an atmospheric night market is held on Thursday evening.
Countless events with music, theater and sometimes fireworks ensure that there is always something to do in the area. Exhibitions are also regularly held and the famous French flea markets can be visited somewhere nearby almost every weekend. There are several beautiful hiking trails in the area. At "Châlucet" you can walk all the way up, see the ancient ruins and enjoy the beautiful view over the campaign.
The towns of Limoges, Brive and Perigueux are a 30 - 45 minute drive from, Bois la Roussie at Coussac-Bonneval, and well worth a visit. The waterfalls "Cascades de Murel", the large lake "Lac de Vassivière" and canoeing in the town of Uzerche are highly recommended.

We hebben een heerlijke week gehad! We zijn helemaal tot rust gekomen en voelden ons meteen helemaal thuis in jullie gîte. De gîte was van alle gemakken voorzien en heel sfeervol ingericht. We hebben iedere dag genoten van het landschap, de ondergaande zon en het lekkere eten. Prachtig gebied om te fietsen. En, voldoende laadpalen in de omgeving voor een elektrische auto. Dank voor alles!

As a couple from New York city, where the noise and crowds can get overwhelming, this was the perfect quiet and quaint village farm house to come to relax and unwind.

Restaurants, food & wine
Enjoy French cuisine with or without a Michelin star! At noon a traditional "plat du jour" or rather a light lunch on one of the many terraces with a beautiful view.
In the summer several night markets are held where you can taste local products, often with music and fireworks.
Activities
Stay on our organic farm with Limousine cows and sheep. We have a vegetable garden, orchard and beehives on our property of 30 hectares. We are happy to give you a tour!
From the gîte it's possible to make beautiful walks and bike rides. Horse riding and fishing are possible a short distance from the gîte. Every Thursday morning there is a small weekly market with local products in our village. Every Tuesday and Friday evening an organic night market is held at eco farm "La Tournerie", within cycling distance of the gte, with, among other things, bread from the bread oven and own beer. During the summer months, dance, music and theater are also offered on Friday evenings.
In the gîte there is a folder with all kinds of fun activities in the area.
