The house

  • Quiet, rural area with some agricultural activity

From the large covered terrace, you enter into a spacious kitchen, with a lovely farmhouse table. The kitchen is well equipped, and has a log burner for the cooler months. There is also a corner with a large desk suitable for working from. Off the kitchen is a cosy living room, including sofa and tv (English and French). Also leading off the kitchen is a rear hallway, which provides access to the king size bedroom, bathroom (bath with shower) and twin room. The twin room can also be configured into a large comfortable superking bed. Outside there is a large covered terrace, perfect to relax and dine. The garden is private and leads to the pool and Hot Tub which easily seats 4 people (available from October 2023). Gite Estelle is a true home from home.
Please note that our property is not suitable for children under 13 years old. We can therefore not accept bookings for families with young children and babies.

Excellent hosts who provided tips and assistance where needed to make our stay enjoyable. Very quiet environment, nice big swimming pool and encounters with local wildlife (lizards, birds, cats and an occasional deer in the garden). Lovely small villages in the area but nowhere as crowded as in the Provence. Highly recommended!

Restaurants, food & wine

Lot et Garonne is renowned for its gastronomy. There are an abundance of restaurants which use local produce. There are several wine regions, all producing fantastic wines, Bordeaux, Bergerac and Cahors for example. There are weekly markets in most villages all which have a wide variety of local products. There are also weekly night markets during the summer months, where you can buy a range of ready prepared food and drink. A great way to eat out.
