The house
Gîte "Le Chardonnay", with a surface area of 50 m2, located on the ground floor, is equipped for 4 to 6 people. Built in 2009, it is comfortable, bright and modern.

Sofa area: TV, DVD, radio, CD, and comfortable convertible sofa (sleeps 2).
Dining area: large table for 6 people.
Kitchen area: dishwasher, oven/microwave, gas hob (4 rings), extractor hood, fridge with freezer compartment, electric coffee maker.

One bedroom with a double bed and wardrobe.
One bedroom with 2 single beds (possibility of making a double bed) and wardrobe.

Just 500 metres from the small village of Tourreilles, with no main roads, just a small path leading to the gîtes and surrounding vineyards, you are in a peaceful setting, surrounded by the vines of the AOC "Blanquette de Limoux", the oldest brut wine in the world! Relax by the pool or on your terrace. Enjoy the sun, the peace and quiet and the superb view of the surrounding vineyards and the Corbières hills.
We're right in the middle of the Cathar country: in spectacular natural surroundings, come and discover the medieval castles, such as Peyrepertuse with its medieval festival, Montségur with the mysterious story of the grail, Queribus and Puilaurens. But above all, the medieval city of Carcassonne, with its castle and ramparts (listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO).
Take a stroll under the hundred-year-old shades of the Canal du Midi (also a World Heritage site) or relax on one of the terraces in the small medieval towns.
Don't forget the abbeys, the thermal baths of Rennes-les-Bains, the mysteries and the "treasure" of Rennes-le-Château, the markets and flea markets as in Mirepoix and the many festivals....
The town of Limoux is 7 km away. There are restaurants, supermarkets, shops, banks, post office, etc. On the terraces of the Place de la République you can taste the region's special wine, Blanquette, visit the market or enjoy the many free concerts.

We hebben kunnen genieten van een heerlijke sportieve fietsvakantie. De herfstkleuren in deze periode zijn gewoonweg zeer prachtig. Bedankt weeral, Marjan en Theo, voor de gastvrijheid en de leuke babbel!

Voor de 2de keer dat we hier op bezoek komen. Heel vriendelijk ontvangen door Marjan en Theo. Mooie ruime site met al hetgeen we nodig hebben. Zeer mooie locatie, ideaal voor wandelingen maar ook voor het boeken van de streek met een rijke geschiedenis. Entre les Vignes was nu echt letterlijk: midden in de vendages. Deze gite blijft op onze to do list staan. Tot ons volgende bezoek.

Theo en Marjan zijn zeer gastvrije, relaxte en behulpzame verhuurders , die op een prachtige plek met mooi uitzicht een prima gites complex hebben. Fijn en schoon zwembad, voor ons was het fietsgebied goed te doen, wel uitkijken want sommige klimmen kunnen behoorlijk zwaar zijn. Limoux is een leuke stad in de buurt met 2 grote supermarkten en ook Carcassonne is een aanrader om te bezoeken. Verder een heel gevarieerd landschap, dat niet zal vervelen. Aanrader om naar toe terug te gaan!

Restaurants, food & wine
The region's many wine cellars are a must for tasting the great wines of Languedoc-Roussillon and Corbières, not forgetting the "Blanquette de Limoux", the oldest brut wine in the world, discovered by the miners of the Abbey of Saint Hilaire in 1531.
"TOQUES ET CLOCHERS": one of the biggest wine festivals, takes place every year on Palm Weekend in one of the 40 villages in the "Blanquette de Limoux" AOC. The winegrowers of the region invite you to taste their wines in a festive atmosphere, with music provided by numerous orchestras and bandas.
In the restaurant you can sample the cuisine of the "South" and cassoulet, a speciality of the region.
Activities
If you're a keen walker or mountain biker, you'll find a wide range of walks nearby, from the "grande rando" to a short stroll through the vineyards, ending with a wine tasting at one of our neighbours' vineyards....
The Aude offers white-water sports of all levels, from rafting to leisurely canoeing.
Mediterranean beaches such as Narbonne-Plage, St. Pierre and Gruissan are just an hour's drive away.
The Pyrenees are also an hour's drive away, for hiking in summer or skiing in winter.

Our gîtes are open all year round!
We live next door to our gîtes and are therefore available for any questions or information.
The baker passes every morning (in high season) in front of our gîtes (except Monday morning).
A butcher visits the village 2 times a week.

In Carcassonne exit 23 direction Limoux, follow the signs Limoux, cross Limoux, take the road to Magrie, in Magrie follow Tourreilles, at the entrance of Tourreilles turn right and immediately right again (follow -Les Sarreilles-), the path leaves the village, at the top of the path turn left (we are 500 m. from the village).
- Airports: Carcassonne 30 minutes away, Beziers and Toulouse 75 minutes away.
Additional price info and offers
Prices per gîte per week (bed linen provided):
- high season = July & August = 690 euro
- mid season = June & September = 390 euro
- low season = may & other school holidays = 290 euro
- very low season = all other periods = 230 euro
- weekend = 96 euro for 2 people and 2 nights
Prices and payment terms:
- The price includes the rental of the gîte, bed linen and the cost of water, electricity and gas.
- Not included: tourist tax (50 cts. per night per person > 13 years old) and cleaning fee (50 euro, if you don't want to do it yourself).
- The reservation will be considered firm when 50% of the rental amount has been paid.
- The balance of the rental and the tourist tax must be paid on collection of the keys.
- A deposit cheque for 200 euros will be requested on arrival and returned on the day of departure, after the inventory of fixtures.
Terms of stay:
- The gîte is available from 4pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.
- In high season, rentals are for a minimum of one week, from Saturday to Saturday.
