The house
In Provence, in the heart of the Avignon - Nîmes and Uzès triangle, lies domaine Cadignac - maison d'hôtes. A former wine farm that has not been used as such for years. With great care and attention, we have created two luxury holiday homes (gîtes), specially designed for a maximum of two people each.
Holiday home/Maison Carrée (70m2) - is the detached house belonging to the estate where the wine grower used to live. In front of the house is a basin from which you can dream away the evenings with a drink and enjoy the breathtaking view over the valley.
The house comprises a cosy living room with wood-burning stove and air conditioning, a fully equipped open-plan kitchen with 4-burner induction hob, oven and dishwasher. Of course, a bedroom with a king-size bed (180×200) equipped with a ceiling fan and an ensuite bathroom with a shower and separate toilet should not be missed.

Languedoc-Roussillon is located in the deep south of France and covers the departments of Lozère, Gard, Hérault, Aude and Pyrénées Orientales.
Domaine Cadignac is in the Gard, a fascinating region just below the Ardèche and bordering the Mediterranean. It is the land of the impenetrable Garrigue, of numerous ruins, fortified towns and the Roman aqueduct: the Pont du Gard.
Le Languedoc
Throughout history, the term Languedoc has had all sorts of meanings. A medievalist thought of it as langue d'oc.
Occitan is the collective name for a number of closely related regional languages that developed from around 1300 from the Langue d'Oc (Lenga d'Òc), sometimes called Provençal. The language area of these regional languages is conveniently called Occitania or Languedoc. The area where this language was spoken was all of France south of Lyon. The borders of the ancient province of Languedoc were somewhat more broadly drawn than those of today's Languedoc.
Le Roussillon
The landscape of Roussillon is characterised by great differences in a fairly small area. Up to and including Argelès, the coast has wide beaches, similar to those of Languedoc, and here and there with coastal lakes. South of Argelès is the Côte Vermeille, characterised by high cliffs with a small inlet or beach here and there. Behind the coast is a large area used by horticulture and viticulture. To the south and west, this area is bordered by the Pyrenees. And to the north by the less high Corbières. In the lower parts of the mountains and in the hills, the maquis extends. This impenetrable undergrowth resembles the garrigues, but has no open areas.
Le Gard
Roman cities like Nîmes, Arles and Uzès, as well as Avignon with colourful festivals and the beautiful papal palace are worth a visit. To the north of Le Gard is the mountainous Cévennes nature reserve, with amazing gorges and rivers. A little further south is the Camargue with "wild" horses (also known as Camargue horses), flamingos, rice and salt fields.

Wir kennen Esther und Leo nun schon seit vielen Jahren, waren aber bisher noch nicht in ihrem neuen Domizil der Domaine Cadignac. Gleich nach dem herzlichen Empfang fühlten wir uns wie "angekommen im Paradies". Die beiden haben wieder einen Ort geschaffen, an dem man herrlich ausspannen und genießen kann. Das schöne Gîte, der herrliche Ausblick in die umgebende Natur, das Konzert der Nachtigallen und der nächtliche Sternenhimmel sind "Balsam für die Seele". Wer mehr Abwechslung braucht ... Avignon, Orange, Nîmes, Uzes, aber auch Pont du Gard oder die Ardeche sind nach kurzer Fahrt zu erreichen. Und dann gibt es ja noch die vielen kleinen, mittelalterlichen Dörfer mit ihrem Charme zu entdecken ... nicht zu vergessen die bunten, provenzalischen Märkte und... und...und...

Wij hebben eind september, begin oktober een heerlijk verblijf gehad in maison Carrée. Het huis heeft een zonnig gemeubileerd terras, maar ook een mogelijkheid om onder een zonnescherm plaats te nemen. Het uitzicht is prachtig, de omgeving landelijk en rustig. Tijdens ons verblijf veel tractoren omdat de druiven geoogst werden, maar dat heeft ons niet gestoord. Het grote zwembad was ons in deze tijd van het jaar net wat te fris, maar zal zomers een genot zijn, evenals het terras met de ligbedden. De tuin is een plaatje, daar zit menig uurtje in. Boodschappen doen kan dichtbij in Bagnols sur Ceze. Het huis kent een hoog afwerkingsniveau en is sfeervol ingericht. Geen TV, dus laptop meenemen. De WIFI via glasvezel was perfect! Het meubilair in huis is gerieflijk en het bed ligt heerlijk. De keuken biedt allerlei mogelijkheden om een goede maaltijd te bereiden. De omgeving leent zich voor mooie tochten, wandelingen hebben wij geen ervaring mee. Op goede reisafstand liggen leuke plaatsen om te ontdekken. Uzes is prachtig, wij hebben op zondagochtend genoten van de vide grenier aldaar. Leonard en Esther zijn fijne, gezellige en behulpzame eigenaren. Wij komen graag eens terug.

Dank voor jullie bezoek en mooie review. De druiven zijn ondertussen geoogst, binnenkort kunnen we genieten van de Primeur.

Afgelopen eind mei zijn we voor twee weken ingecheckt in een prachtig appartement in Tresquez.
Een mooie plek om te genieten van de directe en meer wijde omgeving.
We zochten een plek om tot rust te komen, met zwembad, mooi uitzicht, ruim appartement en voldoende te doen in de omgeving.
Aan al deze wensen zijn voldaan.
Op reisafstand waren Orange, Avignon, Nimes, Uzes goed bereikbaar. Stuk voor stuk mooie steden en veel te zien.
In de buurt is Bagnoles sur Ceze met veel winkels en grote markt.
Voor ons als natuurliefhebbers is er veel te wandelen, crossfietsen en marktjes bezoeken.
Kortom we hebben twee mooie weken gehad. De eigenaren Leo en Esther Robberts waren hulpvaardig en vriendelijk. We voelden ons zeer welkom.Sonja en Harry Oesterman

Additional price info and offers
In the months of April and May, the minimum stay is 2 nights, the arrival day is variable. The only additional cost is the tourist tax at €0.80 per person - per day.
* Prices include towels and bed linen, there are 10 towels (4 large and 6 small) in each cottage.
* Extra towel set € 15,00.
* The gîtes are at your disposal from 16h00 and should be handed over before 10h00.
* Dogs on request at € 15,00 per week.
* Smoking is not allowed in the gîtes. Unless it does not disturb the other guests, smoking is allowed by the swimming pool.
* To guarantee the peace and quiet of the guests, our maison d'hôtes is for adults only.
