The house

  • Quiet, rural area

The Water Mill used to grind the grain of Eoux (pronounced éejoes) and the surrounding area. As soon as you drive up the driveway from the deserted country road, with Eoux and its little church in the distance, you suspect you are in the right place. When you arrive at the yard, you are almost certain. At the entrance a bunch of magnificent trees and a babbling brook, on which a little further upstream is our little beach. For a bbq or just an afternoon in a special spot with the occasional dip.
The mill is a fairytale building, spacious yet cosy. The sunny south terrace is 'the place to be'. Here you will find the cosy summer kitchen with unobstructed views and a hammock under a large lime tree. You can start your hike from the terrace. You can swim at our private beach on the river or at the swimming pool. The children love helping out at the stables, with Arthur and Round Table, the mini-pigs and the cows and their calf.
The mill is also an extraordinary place for those who come without children, in spring or autumn, to laze around, see some of the local peculiarities and occasionally go to a nice and good restaurant that is very affordable.
A region that is undiscovered, we are happy to show you the way.
The cosy kitchen inside, should it be a worse day, is in open communication with the lounge and its fireplace. A glass panel in the kitchen floor allows you to see the water flowing under the house. Four large bedrooms and one smaller one with bunk beds. Three double beds, five single beds and a cot. One bedroom has a private bathroom, including bath and toilet. In addition, a bathroom and toilet on the upper floor. Attached to the terrace is the solar-powered summer shower.
The house is well suited for 10 people and yet also cosy if you come as a couple.
A reliable holiday address for 25 years.

Want to pull the door of the everyday world firmly shut behind you for a moment...? As if you stepped into a time machine...?

The wider surroundings of Le Moulin feel like a kind of warm bath....A beautiful village, Aurignac, friendly, with a mix of people and nationalities. People are surprisingly friendly. A chat at the bakery, parking in front of the door, you can walk right through.
The region still has little tourism. We are happy to show you the way to hidden gems and precious pleasures. A hidden beer garden, an affordable no-frills restaurant or a culinary hotspot. Even a village festival or a concert with music and food at long tables on the square.
Also for the better markets. Or a big swimming pool from the 1990s. Or 7 km in the other direction, the clear lake of Fabas, in the middle of a forest, (see photo), it's hard to believe there's hardly anyone there.
Or something completely different, a day trip to Toulouse, seat of Airbus in a bustling student city, which includes a Space Centre, the largest French Romanesque church and a few tents we can tip you on. A trip to the Pyrenees otherwise, to Luchon for instance, from the valley by cable car into the mountains in one go. Lourdes is also special. Or by boat through the caves, from one illustrious hall to another. Halfway to Toulouse is the Gallic village, Archeon, but in miniature.
A setting thus with formidable competition for the enticing screen....

Restaurants, food & wine

Restaurants of various kinds. A beer garden with food truck and an inn in another village, all nearby. An excellent delivery service of Indian and Thai meals. A market every day with good ingredients for home meals.

Activities

If you walk out of the garden and follow the water, you will come to the river and our little beach. With hammock, garden chairs and bbq-place. The water is fresh, but that keeps the beer and lemonade warm and because it is such a beautiful spot, you will probably go there regularly for a few hours. The children build dams in the water, play with the boats and air mattresses, still unhindered by that fresh water. There is also the pool more fun than it is big. The pool is 120 cm deep and is shared with the guests of the baker's house. In practice, this is certainly for the children, but for adults hardly an impediment.
For the kids, it is a little paradise around the house, they are the last ones who will forget the holiday. A tractor with a nose and two eyes They love to visit the colourful stables. To stroke the calf or to tickle the little pigs behind their ears. Next to the stables is perhaps the cutest chicken coop in the country. The boys want to sit on the tractor, the girls dare to.
You can take a short walk to the unexpectedly beautiful church in the village, which is rarely visited, except perhaps for you, because we know where the key is. Or you can make a bigger round trip via the dam in the river to the ridge overlooking the Pyrenees.
Apart from the spacious yard, you share nothing with the inhabitants of the water mill, which is also part of the estate. The gardens are far apart, there is the water, there are dykes. Your privacy is very important to us, as is your safety. There is plenty of space around the houses. There are several places where you can find soap and disinfection.
