The house
The holiday home offers a spacious living room with a cosy fireplace, a television and a CD player. Adjacent to this is a fully equipped kitchen-diner that can seat 6-8 people. It is equipped with an oven, a 4-ring electric hob, a refrigerator, a coffee machine, a kettle and other useful appliances.
The house has three bedrooms and a charmingly renovated sleeping loft. In the loft, you will find a total of four double beds and two sets of twin beds. Bedding and blankets are provided, but you must bring your own bed linen and towels (or they can be rented on request). In the loft, there are two single beds and two double beds, one of which is slightly narrower.
There are two modern bathrooms with shower and toilet. A washing machine is also available.
The house is mainly on the ground floor, with the exception of the attic. It is equipped so that it is also easily accessible for wheelchair users.
All windows in the house are fitted with practical shutters. There are several terraces around the building, which, thanks to the shade provided by the trees in the garden, are ideal for relaxing outdoors. The garden has an outdoor barbecue and a spacious swimming pool (10 x 5 m) for a refreshing dip. There is a garage for your vehicle (please reverse into it). There is also the possibility to pitch tents on the property, and there is space for a caravan.
The entire property covers approximately 3000 m² and offers a mixture of wooded areas, gardens, terraces and a swimming pool. Located on a gentle hill, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding area from here.
Facilities:
The house has hot and cold running water and a telephone connection for local calls. Mobile phone reception may vary depending on location, so it is sometimes necessary to go outside. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. All rooms can be heated. There is also air conditioning in the kitchen, living area and bedroom next to the kitchen. The large fireplace provides pleasant warmth in the cooler months. A supply of wood is available for your use.

The house is situated on a hillside with a beautiful view over an rural valley. There are two other house nearby but at an adequate distance away. The contact person for the gite lives in one of these houses.
The garden and the swimming pool are pleasantly laid out and yet easy to maintain.
The cottage is located just south of the medieval town of Cahors, in the municipality of Pern, in the Quercy Blanc region, on the limestone plateaus. It is situated in the valley of the Petite Barguelonne, close to the village of Pern, about 15 km from Cahors and 8 km from Castelnau-Montratier, the capital of the canton. The house dates from 1823's. It is detached and it is situated on a hill overlooking a valley. There are are two other houses in the surrounding. Our French contact person lives in one of these houses (key, information, arrange cleaning, help with problems).
The house is L-shaped and constructed of local stone (belles pierres). It is estaured in the original style of the area. Nearby, there are several possibilities for excursions: art, architecture, archeology (eg the caves of Peche Merle), castles and museums. In summer there are various festivals and (antique) markets. There is a list of places to see in the house. The nearest village is called Pern. Nearest town is Castelnau Montratier (8 miles) There is a small supermarket, grocery, bakery, gas station, etc. and Cahors is 15 miles away. There is also a tennis court and a (9 hole) golf course in the immediate surroundings.

Wij komen al 5 jaar achter elkaar naar Pern2. Ieder jaar weer zeer lovend over ons verblijf. Het huis is prachtig, ruim en heeft een heerlijk privé zwembad. Het huisje ligt midden in de ‘groente tuin’ van Frankrijk. Het ligt helemaal beschut van omliggende bebouwing. Zeker in de zomer is het terras met buiten bbq geweldig.
Het huisje heeft werkelijk alle voorzieningen.
Mijn vrouw kan prima manoeuvreren in haar rolstoel terwijl het huis daar niet voor is ingericht.
Er is voldoende te doen in de omgeving, maar wij komen hier heel graag voor de rust, want het is hier heerlijk rustig.
Een verblijf in Pern2 is echt een aanrader.
Dir huisje zal niet het goedkoopste zijn maar het is e prijs zeker waard.Comment from D.C. van Bakelen

De ligging van het vakantiehuis is zeer goed. Na het verlaten van de snelweg ben je er binnen het kwartier.
Belangrijk is wel dat je in de gps het huisnummer ingeeft en niet enkel de straatnaam......
Naar winkel en het prachtige en leuke Castelnau-Monstratier is het een tiental minuutjes met de auto.
Op het domein zelf hoor je de vogels, de krekels en de kikkers. Een paar keer zagen we een hertje lopen, vlak bij het huis. Hoe prachtig!Nog een groot pluspunt is de bereikbaarheid van de verhuurder en de housekeper Philip. Heel aangenaam.

We waren hier voor de tweede keer. Het beviel ons nog beter dan in 2024!
De airco in de keuken, living en één slaapkamer is echt wel een meerwaarde. Het was, op twee dagen na, erg warm. Maar koken (wat we graag doen) is dan geen enkel probleem. Ook omdat er zoveel aanwezig is: meer dan voldoende borden &bestek, potten & pannen, mixers, fruitpers, slazwierder, voorraad kruiden en specerijen, noem maar op. Ook de grote ijskast en diepvriezer zijn uitstekend.
Het is een oud huis in mooie steen en dan komt een stofnet of spinnenweb wel eens kijken. Ons hinderde het niet.....
Het zwembad bracht verkoeling. Zalig.Kortom, een zeer comfortabel huis met veel ruimte binnen en buiten.

Restaurants, food & wine
The Cahors wines are well known to wine enthusiasts.
There are several restaurants within a radius of fifteen kilometers.
In Castelnau Montratier there is a weekly market on wednesday, with regional products. In Lalbenque there is a truffle market. Every Saturday there is a large market in Cahors, as well as a vegetable market on Wednesday. In Montcuq there is a very famous lovely market with a variety of goods; you can find nice presents here!
Most supermarkets are open on Sunday mornings.
Activities
Swim in the private pool, which no one else uses.
In l'Hospitalet there is a tenniscourt.
A beautiful hilly 9 hole golf course with a cozy clubhouse is only 20 min away by car.
There is a clubhouse where you also can eat (lunch) and lessons are possible on request.
There is a riding school in Tierry, village nearby.
Swimming, fishing and watersports are possible in the Lot.
At the close-by local airport (10 km), various activities like paragliding and parasailing are possible.
Karting center 10 kms from the house.
The area is ideal for cycling enthusiasts.

Base price for 6 people. Each additional person is €120.00 per week.
