The house
Gîtes 'La Vigne' and 'Le Chêne
The gîte has a surface area of 100m2. The kitchen and living room are tastefully decorated and fully equipped. In the kitchen you will of course find a dishwasher, gas cooker with oven and a large fridge/freezer. You can enjoy your meal or barbecue on the front or rear terrace.
The two bedrooms have comfortable boxsprings. When booking, you can indicate whether you prefer single or double beds. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with walk-in shower, washbasin and toilet. One has an extra bathtub. If you are travelling with children, an extra bed can be added (up to 12 years). For the little ones, a cot and high chair are available.
The living area is comfortably furnished with comfortable sofas and a TV.
The gîtes are newly built and excellently insulated. Cool in summer and cosily warm in winter, there is underfloor heating so they are also ideal for winter stays. Each room has doors to the terraces, so you can enjoy the surroundings and the view from all sides.
The 6x10-metre swimming pool is located in the back garden for a nice cool down! The surrounding terrace has lovely sun loungers for lazing in the sun.
Renting 'La Vigne' or 'Le Chêne' includes bed and kitchen linen. You can bring your own towels and bath towels or rent them for an additional charge.
The weekly price does not include the compulsory final cleaning of €60. As well as the tourist tax,

The domaine 'La Châtaigne' is situated at the edge of Prayssac, a lively, cosy village with all kinds of facilities.
At 5 minutes distance you will find supermarkets, bakeries, nice clothes shops, beauty shops and brocant shops. Every Friday there is a lively weekly market. Basic facilities such as a GP and pharmacy are also available. For good food, you do not need to leave the village.
In the surrounding villages there is also plenty to do. You can browse the flea markets or visit wineries and taste the ferme Cahors wines. But also canoeing, fishing and swimming in the Lot or horse riding. Because Prayssac is situated in a hilly area it is very suitable for cycling, and there are many cycle routes. Also hikers can walk several marked routes and discover the silence and the beautiful nature.

Restaurants, food & wine
The department Lot is characterised by a combination of beautiful nature, wine-growing and beautiful medieval villages. A Burgundian can indulge himself in the Lot! Here, good food and drink is a lifestyle.
Our house is situated in the middle of the vineyards. The local winegrowers produce the hearty Cahors wines and sell them at home. In the immediate vicinity you can visit 10, mostly small, winegrowers. Besides the strong red Cahorswines, they also produce delicious white wines and fresh, summery rosés. All winegrowers will give you a warm welcome for a 'degustation', a tasting.
You don't have to look far to find good food either. From a delicious lunch at the local pubs to a dinner with a Michelin star, you can find all culinary possibilities here. Tip: go for lunch between 12.00 and 14.00, usually 3 courses for a very attractive price, and often including wine.
Shopping at the local markets is also a treat. You will find plenty of fresh produce and home-made cakes, jams and of course the Cahors wines!
Activities
The pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostella runs through the neighbouring village of Duravel.
Golfers can practice their swing on various courses in the area such as Saint Martin le Redon, Sauveterre, Brive.
Along the Lot are beautiful old villages such as Puy L'Eveque and Albas and a visit to the medieval Sarlat, Montpazier or Rocamadour should not be missed.

Een werkelijk tot in de puntjes verzorgd vakantiehuis met zeer gastvrije mensen die de gites verhuren. Midden tussen de wijnvelden staat het prachtige huis, waar niets aan ontbreekt. Mocht je toch iets missen dan zorgen Cor en Ingrid er voor dat het goed komt. Cor en Ingrid hebben een prettige balans tussen enerzijds gastvrij en geinteresseerd en anderzijds gepaste afstand.
Heerlijk om een week bij La Chataigne te mogen verblijven! Hoewel we niet van terugkeren naar dezelfde locatie zijn , overwegen we het toch zeer sterk voor volgend jaar!

Wij hebben een leuke vakantie gehad. Prayssac ligt in een mooie en rustige omgeving. Gite La Vigne was ruim, net en gezellig ingericht met een mooi terras en zwembad in de tuin. Leuke restaurantjes en winkels in de buurt. Cahors, Rocamadour, Saint- Cirq La Popie zijn zeker een bezoekje waard. Ingrid en Cor zijn heel vriendelijk. Alles was tip top in orde! We komen zeker nog een keertje terug.

Wij hebben een heerlijke week gehad bij La Chataigne. Het huis is zeer smaakvol ingericht. Keuken is goed uitgerust met grote koelkast/vriezer en oven .
TV heeft Nederlandse tv zenders. Tijdens ons verblijf was er op een moment geen tv ontvangst; een telefoontje naar beheerder en binnen no time kwam een vriendelijke man langs om alles weer aan de praat te krijgen.
Het huis is koel te houden d.m.v. sluiten van de luiken.
Terras voor en achter de gite, zowel zon als schaduw kan je opzoeken.
Supermarkt Carrefour om de hoek, Intermarche iets verderop.
Op het complex zijn een wasmachine en droger aanwezig.
Heerlijke bedden, boxspring met topper, ook nog eens extra breed en lang bed, wij hebben nog nooit zo fijn geslapen op vakantie!
Er is een heerlijk zwembad met fijne ligbedden en parasols, groot genoeg om iedereen te laten genieten als alle huizen bezet zijn.
Wij vonden de locatie prima, wel wat ver rijden om populaire (Dordogne) bezienswaardigheden te bezoeken (Rocamadour, Sarlat, Padirac, Domme, Roque-Gageac, Chateau Castelnaud & Beynac & Biron). Dit merk je terug in de sfeer: in de Dordogne is het erg toeristisch en druk, de omgeving van Prayssac is veel gemoedelijker en toch levendig.
