The house
Monplaisir consists of a large holiday house with 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and a fully renovated barn with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. You have access to a large private swimming pool (12x5m). Very spacious sun terrace with pergola at the pool, with another terrace at the house and another covered terrace where the ping pong table is. Very child friendly. The children can play safely in the spacious enclosed garden. Upon arrival, the beds are made, towels are provided and the fridge is stocked with the necessary drinks and food for the evening, so you don't have to rush out to do the shopping. The beds are hotel beds that can be used as single or double beds. In the house you will find the open kitchen, which is very well equipped and forms a whole with the spacious dining area, which is also very cosy. In the barn there is also a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area where you can eat with the whole group. The former "cave" (cellar) has been transformed into a large storage room, where you can easily put all your bicycles. You can rent the house with or without the barn but it is never rented to 2 groups at the same time. You can find more information on our website or contact us for specific questions.

Monplaisir is located in the Cahors wine region. From the house and the swimming pool you have a very nice view on the vineyard, woods and fields, as well as a view on the village of Saint-Matré. The house and the fenced garden are at about 100m from the (quiet) street, to be reached via a private drive. The total domain is 5,5 ha. The Lot is a beautiful region with many forests, beautifully carved hills and valleys, sunflowers, many vineyards, bastides (medieval fortified villages on a hilltop). In the region are also some of France's most beautiful sights with the Pont Valentré in Cahors, Sarlat, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Rocamadour, ...

Met ons gezin (12 volwassenen en 8 kinderen in de leeftijd van 3-16 jaar) hebben wij een week vakantie gevierd in deze gite met verbouwde schuur. De gite is heerlijk ruim, voldoende goede bedden, ledikantjes en badkamers. Helaas troffen wij het niet heel erg met het weer, maar voor de kinderen is zoveel te spelen: een grote kelder met allerlei mogelijkheden, een overdekte tafeltennistafel en een heerlijke televisiekamer, die door onze kleinkinderen als speelkamer is ingenomen. Tussen de buien door kon op het gras en op het speeltoestel gespeeld worden. Gelukkig konden we op onze laatste dag ook nog genieten van het heerlijke zwembad, de ligstoelen en het mooie uitzicht.
In de keukens is ruim voldoende servies en zijn er genoeg potten en pannen, mixers, blenders enz. De tafels zijn lang genoeg om met 20 personen aan te eten.
Johan en Dominique zijn bijzonder gastvrij en klantgericht: ze geven heel snel antwoord en lossen voorkomende problemen met een lach op. Bij aankomst vonden we pizza's in de koelkast en heerlijke meloen met ham. Ook het brood voor de dag erop was door hen al besteld.
In de omgeving is voldoende te zien, te wandelen (op goed aangegeven routes) en te beleven voor alle leeftijden. (Z-Animoland, kasteel Bonaguil, stadjes waar je je in de Middeleeuwen waant)
Wij hebben een week lang genoten.

Voor de tweede keer in dIt vakantiehuis en het voelt weer geweldig, is gewoon al als thuis komen

Ik was op zoek naar een huis dat groot genoeg was voor een weekje vakantie met mijn 4 kinderen, hun partners en de kleinkinderen, totaal 15 personen.
Uiteraard met een zwembad.
Dat vind je hier: een boerderij met een groot erf, gras. Geschikt voor voetbal, buiten eten, etc
Een groot zwembad, veilig af te sluiten en voldoende ligstoelen.
Een buiten BBQ.
Het huis heeft boven voldoende slaapkamers.
Beneden een enorme eetkeuken met een lange tafel.
Ook nog een extra slaapkamer, een aparte zitkamer, met een mooi terras voor de namiddag/avondzon, en een speel/tv kamer.
Kortom voor ons een superplek!

Of course, there is the Cahors wine itself, where the many dozens of wine growers from the region will be pleased to welcome you. Activities
The region is perfect for lovely walks, sporty bicycle rides or mountain bike tours. If you would like to go horseback riding, it is possible in the neighbourhood. Of course you can swim in your own private swimming pool. Guests of Monplaisir can play tennis for free on the municipal tennis court. If you would like to organise a course, please inquire about the possibilities.
