The house
This charming XIX Century Logis has initially been built as a gentleman's residence and vineyard, then later became a working farm before being sympathetically restored. Approached through the grand entrance gates at the end of a private 100 years old chestnut lined driveway, providing ample shaded parking, the main farmhouse and L'Ecurie overlook the pretty circular courtyard with its centre the fountains. Renovated in 2017 the L'Ecuire offer on the ground floor an open plan with a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, oven and gas hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave. Comfortably furnished sitting room with satellite TV which gets French and English language channels. Upstairs, you will find two bedrooms await you one a double bedroom and the second with twin beds with a full shower room. L'Ecurie has a private garden to the rear with BBQ. The front benefit of sunny terraces overlooking the circular courtyard.

"L'Ecurie" is a beautifully restored 18th Century traditional Charentaise Logis is set in 2 acres of landscaped gardens with racquet sports, standard games room and TWO swimming pool complex. Logis de Lussais was built in the mid-18th Century as a gentleman’s residence with a Manor house and private vineyard and later became a working farm. It has since been restored to provide holiday accommodation. The Logis is approached along a private tree-lined avenue, offering ample shaded parking, through grand entrance gates into a fountain courtyard. The farmhouse and four-holiday cottages are around the central courtyard, and each has its private gardens overlooking the fountain. The four cottages share a secured 10 x 5m swimming pool and a second swimming pool 8 x 4m. Both swimming pools are south facing gardens where there is boule, badminton, short tennis and swings. In the Grange, an open barn, there is a common games room including table tennis, pool table and bar football. All racquet and games equipment is provided. The pool complex has a pool house with shower, washbasin and WC and a shaded area where you can enjoy while escaping from the heat of the day.

Wat een toplocatie! Dit is een absolute aanrader! heb je graag wat rust en toch voldoende mogelijkheden in de regio....zeker doen! Je voelt je hier ook een beetje koning...een hele mooie grote afgesloten herenwoning waarin de eigenaars wonen, oprijlaan, een fijne binnenplaats met fontein, de bijgebouwen zijn de gites, elke gite heeft voldoende privacy. Ook met kinderen (ook kleine kids) zit je hier echt goed. Het domein is volledig omheind en afgesloten...2 fijne zwembaden, een grote tuin/speelwijde, een overdekte ruimte met ping pong, biljart en een tafelvoetbalspel. Voldoende leuke schaduwplekken onder de bomen. Wij verbleven in Gite La Conciergerie met ons gezin met 3 jongvolwassen kinderen. Alles is voorzien en netjes in orde, bbq aanwezig, voldoende ruimte en fijne badkamers (2) Eric en Julieanne zijn erg vriendelijke top eigenaars-uitbaters. Aanwezig en aanspreekbaar maar niet opdringerig. Chef-Boutonne is een leuk typisch klein Frans dorpje met alles wat er moet zijn...Intermarche en Coop, enkele cafeetjes, een paar eetplekjes, bakkers, slager, traiteur apotheek...een marktje op zaterdag......, steden La Rochelle (aan de zee), Poitiers, Angouleme....allemaal op makkelijk bereikbare afstand met de auto...Brocante liefhebbers? In deze regio zijn zeker ontdekkingen te doen..... Overwinteren of tot rust komen? Ook dan zit je hier ongetwijfeld goed. We hebben geen connectie met de eigenaars, we waren gewoon enthousiast over deze week in Logis de Lussais bij Eric en Julieanne! Het is altijd subjectief maar...Dit is hoe vakantie hoort te zijn....Go and check it out!! Thx Tim

Wij hebben met onze drie kinderen (14, 17 en 18 jaar) een heerlijke 2-weekse vakantie gehad in La Conciergerie. Logis de Lussais is een gezellig omheind domein met 4 gites en de hoofdwoning van de eigenaren Eric en Julieanne. Onze gite was prima in orde, goed schoon en netjes verzorgd. Het weer was prachtig dus wij waren vaak bij één van de twee zwembaden te vinden. Tussendoor regelmatig gepingpongd en van het biljart gebruik gemaakt. Er is veel spelmateriaal aanwezig zoals ballen/shuttles/rackets. Eric en Julieanne zijn zeer vriendelijk en altijd bereikbaar voor vragen. Op hun aanraden zijn wij uit eten geweest bij restaurant Le Canton in Longré op 20 minuten rijden met de auto. Het menu was voortreffelijk! Chef-Boutton is een gezellig plaatsje. Wij hebben het plaatselijke festival met muziek en foodtrucks bezocht, leuk om mee te maken. Voor wie zin heeft in een ochtendwandeling: op 20 minuutjes lopen vanaf Lussais zit een boulangerie met heerlijke croissantjes en andere lekkere broden. Verderop in het dorp zitten nog twee bakkers en andere winkels waaronder twee supermarkten. Ook omliggende plaatsen zijn de moeite waard om te bezoeken, zoals Melle waar een Arboretum is voor een koele wandeling.

prachtig gebouw met mooi gites rond,een heel mooie binnenkoer-binnentuin.
Toffe locatie en dito eigenaars en heel veel plaats in en rond het gebouw met 2 zwembaden en allerhande spelen... .
Niet ver van van het charmante dorp Chef Boutonne waar men alles vindt,

Activities
The impressive Chateau Javarzay in Chef Boutonne has a fishing lake and picnic area which is within walking distance. There is a Saturday Market, various shops, restaurants and bars, two supermarkets and all the general amenities you might need all 1.5 km from your front door. An abundance of wildlife for the keen enthusiast is on your doorstep or going further afield, all within
one hours’ drive are a host of things to do and see. Nearby activities include; Cognac tasting at the distillery, sandy beaches on the Atlantic coast, fascinating architecture and sightseeing opportunities, Zoo and Futuroscope theme park, cycling and kayaking to name but a few.

These are a few things which might be useful for you to know before your arrival:
The swimming pool is provided for the convenience of all our guests, but in spring and autumn it’s used is subject to weather conditions. It will be closed in late autumn and re-opened in spring.
•Baby equipment (travel cot, high chair, baby bath and stair gates available with prior notice and must be reserved in advance of your arrival)
•Extra folding bed (must be booked in advance)
•Please bring your pool towels as these are not supplied. (swimming pools are closed from October to April)
•Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pets, and smoking is prohibited in the Gîte.
•Each of our Gîte has a Skybox which gives you the basic Sky TV package (except L’Ecurie). However, if you would like to access your Sky account to increase the viewing channels, please bring your own Sky card
•WIFI is free in all our Gîtes however the Internet service in our area may be intermittent at times and not always efficient
•The mobile phone signal is good generally in our area
Smoking is not permitted in the Gîtes
VEHICLE ACCESS: To provide a safe, secure and clean environment, guest’s vehicles are only permitted inside the courtyard on arrival and departure to facilitate loading and unloading. At all other times, vehicles must be parked in the car park area outside the main gates.

WE HAVE A SEPARATE LAUNDRY ROOM WITH TWO WASHING MACHINES IN THE POOL HOUSE FOR GUESTS USE FOR FREE.
